I have a trial transfer scheduled for this Wed...can anyone shed some light on what this is, involves...I am so new at all of this. My DR said that after this is goes pretty quick is everything is ok, i get shots, harvest, transfer, wait. Please share anything you can!
I am also VERY new to IVF. We are just starting the 3rd week of our first IVF cycle. I also just went through the "trial transfer" on 5/12. Basically, they are doing a "mock transfer". They want to go in just the way they would with the actual IVF embryo transfer and make sure that your cervix and uterus are prepared for what is to come. They use a camera and check for any abnormalities (I had scar tissure from a previous infertility procedure which they removed at the same time) and fix any problems they may find. It only takes about 15 minutes. I was only under IV sedation and remember everything, but had very little pain, more like discomfort. I was up and walking and leaving the office within 45 min of the end of the procedure. Things will be fine. It's one more thing you get to mark off of that huge checklist leading to the finale. It reassured me that I have no major problems and hopefully this will be successful on the first try.
