Hello everybody,
There are lotz of dates on which the ultrascan is being done at different clinic during stimmulation.I believe closer look up is ideal, bcoz you never know how your body reacts. In my clinic they do it after 4 days of stimms. once and then acc. to my E2 level, everyother day. or daily.
Hi kristin,
Being in the middle of stimms.,till ydy, i didnt feel anything. As u said, hot flushes has come down. But headache improved only for the past 2 days.Tdy after my scan result, they have adjusted my dosage.Hopefully I should produce good quality eggs.whatz your finding on u/s?
Hi Lbebe,
Good luck on ur. u/s trow.Hope you see many follicles growing.Everybody reacts to meds. differently.I have gained weight during the stimms. but nothing like being moody or so.

hi there

kdc i hope someone can answer you as it sounds pretty yukky for you now and didn't like the sound of the procedure either. But great that they were able to collect 7 eggs! That is wonderful.

I go for my first scan tomorrow and so I have no idea what is happening now! It is all so unpredictable. But I have been so busy at work today clearing everything and getting ready for possibly being away next week that I am only just starting to think about it all. My stomach is starting to feel a bit bloated aswell.

lots of love and will think of those of you in the midst of EC and ET these next few days. GOOD LUCK!!!

Retrieval today

Post by Kerri »

Wow! What an experience.

First, kdc2006, I'm so sorry to hear about your horrific scenario. Not fun at all. I was very apprehensive going into this first complete IVF Cycle as well. My retrieval was at 12:45 pm today so I'm also tired, crampy and bloated. Can I just tell you how much I hate being bloated?? I have had spotting and they told me to expect this. After all, after they were poking and prodding for 15 minutes you can understand why. I haven't had clotting yet and I would imagine you're ok---just mention to the nurse when he/she calls you tomorrow with fertilization report. And also heard a heating pad and Extra Strength Tylenol really eases the discomfort. Good luck---I'm anxious to hear all about your transfer.

We actually arrived at the clinic early today which was a big mistake because I ended up sitting on the stretcher in the recovery room 30 minutes longer. This means listening to everyone else exiting the OR Room moaning and groaning. Nothing like increasing that anxiety! Finally they summoned me 2 hours later. All I remember is the anesthesiologist telling me he was giving me something to make me drowsy and my memory fuzzy but nothing that would knock me out yet. 5 seconds later I woke up in recovery. That part was fortunately smooth for me. They did retrieve 11 eggs and since I only had 11 follicles going into this, I guess I was very fortunate.

Tomorrow they will report back with fertilization status---I'm on pins and needles. The saddest thing is I'm deperately craving a glass of red wine right now but I'm guessing retrieval and wine do not mix? Any thoughts?

Looking forward to hearing everyone's experiences through this journey!

Cheers,
Kerri

hi all

hope both Kerri and kdc2006 are recovering well!
I just had my scan and they said I am borderline hyperstimulation which is a worry but at least there is something there I suppose! She joked that I was like a battery hen as I have about 15 goodish sized and another 12 or so developing. But I am starting to feel nauseous and so we will see what my bloods look like and then it seems I will be back on Sunday for another scan and possibly collecting mid next week.... I hope this isnt going to get too much more uncomfortable but it probably is!

how are the rest of your scans going?

wishing luck to all

Kristin---it sounds like the doctors are on track to avoid a full blown hyperstimulation. Rest, take care of yourself and nurture those 20-some follicles!! Wow, you've got a party going on in there.

Kdc---6 fertilized---way to go! Positive thoughts coming your way for a smooth transfer and lots of good news in 2 weeks. It sounds like you're right on track.

Good luck to all those that are stimming. And for those of you who haven't gone through retrieval yet, it really is not bad at all. I can honestly say the bloating afterwards is the most painful and even that is tolerable. If anyone has suggestions to alleviate the bloating, I'm all ears! It appears I have a cantaloupe growing in my stomach right now

Just awaiting call from doc today with fertilization report---only 6 more hours. I can't even imagine the 2 week wait for Beta.

Talk to you all soon!

Hi there,

Wow. A lot's been happening in the last few days.

kdc - What a bad time you had. Sorry you had to suffer so much. But 6 fertilized. That's great!

Kerri- hope you're recovering well too. 11 out of 11. Well done. Hope all goes well for you at transfer. My clinic has hardly been giving me any advice on dos and don'ts during treatment but I do remember reading no alcohol for 24 hrs after EC so there must be some good reason there. Was your Feb cycle cancelled due to responding poorly? If so, you can be really pleased with yourself this time. Did they change meds and/or dosage?

Well, I was at the clinic for EC today too. The whole procedure went very smoothly: no waiting time, no pain and everyone was very friendly and efficient. But I suppose with only 2 follicles there's not much to cause discomfort. Maybe I was just so frightened about getting the results that the rest didn't bother me. Anyway, my big achievement for the day was that they did find 1 egg. I just want to enjoy that feeling of relief for a while before the panic about getting the fertilisation report tomorrow sets in. I'm forcing myself to stay in bed today although I feel fine. DH has brought me another tea and is now going off windsurfing and sailing, without me...

Hang on in there Lbebe, Kristin and all those stimming or preparing. Good luck to all. :)

Hello ladies,
I am on my day 9 stimms. and i am feeling OKEY expect sleepy. Is anybody feeling this fatigue and sleepy during ur. stimms.? I heard that fatigue is one of the side effects,u can expect during stimms. Last cycle i was bloated/uncomfortable by this time.Thank GOD i have not been hyperstimulated this time. My DOC is very careful in this cycle,as he knows how my body will react.Well, tdy i had my USG and it shows about 8 follicles on the right, 6 measurable and 16 on my left out of which 3 are of very good size and 7 are measurable.I hope my follicles are growing at the right pace. They say my lining is pretty good.I was not much concerned like this during my last cycle.I hope I will produce some GOOD quality eggs this time. Not worry about the number.
Hi Kristin,
Hope you are doing ok now.Hope your doc. are taking care to avoid hyperstimulating.Drink lotz of water and take rest.Hope you will also produce good quality eggs in this cycle.ER will/should be a smooth procedure.
Hello kdc2006 and Kerri,
Good luck with your embies transfer. After 2ww,hope to hear BFP from you both.

Sonix---it sounds like you and I have gone through similar circumstances with numberous IUIs forllowed by a canceled IVF cycle. I wasn't responding well during my first cycle in March--my doctor was quite shocked considering my age. For second round she put me on Microdose Lupron instead of Lupron and definitely upped my Follistim and Menopur dosages. Even during this cycle she was disppointed and I feared a canceled cycle---my right ovary seems to be the lazy one while the left was producing but just not quickly. So at the end of the day I went in with 11 Follicles with some quite small so I'm not sure how they managed to retrieve as many as they did. But I'm happy to hear the also moved forward with you cycle and you don't need me to tell you this but it only takes 1! I'll be thinking about you as you receive the good news about fertilization.

USP--I was so fatigued during the stims! I didn't know it was even a side effect until someone told my half way through. I was simply tired and moody but then again my husband would say that's nothing new. :D

As I was writing this I received my fertilization call. Of the 11 eggs, 6 fertilized. Apparently 2 of my eggs were attacked by more than 1 swimmer which is no good. 1 was immature upon retrieval and another was too shy to meet ANY swimmer. So we'll take 6! Tentatively scheduled for Day 3 Transfer.

Signing out but chat with you all soon!

Hey there

kdc and Kerri- GREAT NEWS!! You both have 6 so it feels like we are on a 2ww for you already! Sonix- thinking and praying for the 'one'.

USP it looks like we are both stimming ok. I got a bit worried reading your posting about your last experience and am scared mine will go into overdrive and all will be cancelled! But they have called and told me just to halve the gonal-F doses each night and prepare for EC on Tuesday.... so fingers crossed for all of our follicles!!!! I am not feeling tired, I just feel like I have two footballs stuck in my abdomen! I have arranged for acupuncture just after EC (she said something like opening these powerful gynae channels and I threw away all my evidence-based medical beliefs and booked an appointment ... and then she will also come for the ET if we get there....)

thinking of you all
do keep in touch over this long waiting weekend!

lots and lots of love and baby dust

Hi everyone!

Just had the call from the clinic. My little egg fertilized! :D I'm so happy and relieved to get this one stage further. The appointment for ET is Monday and I've booked my first acupuncture too.
Thank you for your support and encouragement. It means so much.

Good luck to all on this thread and let us know how you're getting on. Keep up the PMA!

Lots of love
