positive beta, whats a good number??

Post by kathya »

Hi Everyone,
Can't believe it!! Last friday I got a positive beta of 274, but after 10 years of IVF/IUI/ etc, I'm still sooooooooooooo nervous! Whats a good number? Tomorrow I go in to see if they see a sac, but I have all the signs & symptoms of a period. Soar boobs, cramps, aching back, etc? Any advice?
Thanks,
Kathya

Yipee! Congratulations,

There is an informative site that someone set up called ....

www.ivfer.com/hcg.htm

The information there is quite useful, essentially tells you what doctors will tell you too, that the important thing with the HCG numbers are the rate that they are doubling. High one of numbers dont necessarily mean twins, but higher probability as the higher numbers come from increased doubling. (HCG levels double approximately every 36 - 48 hours in early weeks.

What a great start though! Numbers seem ultra positive, see if your clinic will take another reading, and then you can be sure your on the right track.

So happy for you after such a long road. Its hard to beleive after such a long time that is worked isnt it! My DH and I were trying for 9 years, of which 5-6 life was completely affected by infertility, so still cant believe my BFP blessing!

Enjoy your pregnancy
