Thanks Brenda and Julie,

Your advice has come in handy when calculating what I need. I did what you said and orderd just enough...and two days extra. Since they deliver overnight, I should be able to predice if I'm going to run out of something. The gal at Freedom Drug was very nice. She took all my info. yesterday and will be calling me back on Mon. or Tues. to give me the total cost. I'm sure that will be a shock, but I'm trying to be prepared. I start my norethendrone next Friday, and from there, there the real fun begins. I will be starting Lupron on May 27th, and I think that's when I will really feel like things are getting close. I can't wait to get the "show on the road." All of these "rehearsals" just make me anxious to get the real deal going.

I'll update you both when I got my cost estimate from Freedom Drug. Julie, I won't be at MCRH until June 5th, which is when I have my down reg. US and Estrodial. If you would be willing to leave the Gonal-f 450 pen at the desk ther, I would be so appreciative. I would really like to give you something for it. I don't have any idea what they cost, but I feel guilty taking it for free. Please let me know what you think is fair.

I hope you both have a great weekend. Weather is supposed to by yucky. It's the Walleye fishing opener, and I feel bad for all the people that live for this weekend...it's going to be cold and windy.

Talk to you later. Thanks for your support and encouragement.

Hi Niffie,

Glad to see that things are making sense with the ordering and stuff. I know every step can seem overwhelming or confusing. It shouldn't be a problem for me to leave the pen with MCRH. I'm going to send you a private message. You can respond to it with your "real" name so that I can tell MCRH and they can make sure that you get the pen, if you feel comfortable with that.

You can check your private messages by clicking on one of the links at the top. (I don't remember which one.) If you can't figure it out, let me know and I'll do a little more searching.

Here's hoping for some warmer, drier weather :)

hi girls!!

Well we have returned from our trip to MCRH today for our 1st ultrasound. Good news. It is only one!! My DH and I are very relieved as with having our daughter already, did not really want to do 2 at once. Were a bit nervous about that. Baby measured just as it should and we were able to see the heartbeat. I am 8 weeks tomorrow. So things seem to be rolling along fine.
Julie -- I hope things are continuing fine for you also.
Niffie -- I would imagine you're started with some meds by now. WOW!! June is just right around the corner. Don't be afriaid to ask any questions. And the very best of luck!!

The weather is finally getting beautiful again. It sounds like the holiday weekend should be great!! Hope you all have a good week and wonderful holiday!! Talk to you both soon.

Starting 1st cycle...

Post by pinkshellee »

Hello ladies. I have read through most of your posts and they have all been very helpful. I am starting my first IVF cycle and am SOOOO nervous. We have been very fortunate, though. I have PCOS but my husband was diagnosed with low motility in the last month, so our insurance has allowed us to skip IUI all together and proceed with our first IVF. They also pay 100% minus co-pays for services and meds. We also use Freedom Drugs. I have felt very stressed lately because of the co-pays adding up but had no idea that there were insurance companies who pay nothing? I have been humbled. I know my family tries but they really have no idea what I'm going through and it would be great to get some feedback from someone going through tthe same thing. I will also be going through my first cycle in June and would love to chat.

Brenda -
I'm so glad to hear that things went so well at the scan. That is great news. Hopefully you won't have to wait too many more weeks for another appointment / scan. I was such a worrywort during the first 15 weeks and drove my self crazy worrying about things in between appointments. Now that I am feeling movement it is much more reassuring that things are fine. How are you feeling?

Shellee -
Good luck to you in June. I hope things go very smoothly for you! It is sometimes difficult to find support from family or friends, as it seems they often just don't know what to say or how to react. Although our family knew of our infertility struggles, we didn't tell them that we were going through IVF. I just didn't want to face them if we didn't have a positive outcome. Of course, when we were finally able to share our good news, it was such a shock and wonderful surprise for everyone. Looking back, I'm not sure if I would still keep things a secret as we felt very alone during those first few weeks of treatment and waiting. Luckily I did find great support at this site, especially over on the general forum where I was able to keep up with lots of ladies that were at the same point as we were. Best wishes to you!

Best wishes on your ER. I would love to here your story. I have been very fortunate in some ways, I guess. Check out my web site at www.basicallybarnett.com for the whole story. We will be doing our ER on 6/20. I am just starting my meds next week, so that will be interesting... Have you been okay with the injections and everything?

The injections have gone ok. With the IUI's it was really easy.. These med's are increased so they are a little harder on your body.. Nothing drastic but for me it made me a little anxious.. Of course I could just be anxious to get this whole thing done...

I will PM you my short but sweet story..
I love your site by the way.. the pics are really cute

Finally making forward progress!

Post by Nifferela »

Hello all! I haven't posted in a while because things have been pretty quiet and boring. I have been on Lupron since May 27th. Yesterday I had my Down-reg. us and Estradial. All was good, so this morning I started my gonal-f injection. It went pretty well. I go back on Friday morning for my second US and estradial. Estimated retrieval dates are June 17, 18, 19. I hope that all goes as planned and I react to the meds like expected. So far, knock on wood, I feel quite well. I've been busy which has helped. My hubby has been very supportive and encouraging, and I've been exercising daily (walking) and that seems to keep my spirits and self esteem up too. The nurse advised me yesterday to go out and buy som stretch pants, because by the end of my 2 week stim process she said I won't want ANYTHING tight on my stomach. That's not a fun thought to think about, but it will be worth it in the end if I can hold a baby in my arms

How are the pregnancies going, Brenda and Julie?

I will await your reply. I hope all is going well.

welcome back.. You are well on your way now.. You will get that dream soon :) :)
I am curr 1 week into the 2ww and going absolutly crazy.. the er and et did not go as well as planned after all the stimming we ended up with 2 eggs and only 1 fertilized so we did a 3day transfer with the 1 8cell.. I am trying to stay positive that the little fighter of an embie holds on..
I hope everyone else is well

Niffie -
So good to hear that the appointment went well yesterday. For me, I had more negative side-effects with the down-regging than with the stims. Hopefully you will be feeling great during the next few weeks. My fingers are crossed that all goes well.

Jackoa21 -
Isn't the 2ww just a killer. Sounds like you have one really great embie that has hopefully grabbed on and dug in for the long haul. I hope to see you with BFP in a few days!

The pregnancy is going great. I finally have some energy back and feel like I'm back to a "normal" life. I've had some strong ligament pain, but somehow when you know the cause if it, it isn't even bothersome. I had a US last Thursday and again today. Everything looks great. The little pumpkin was moving around so much on Thursday that they had to repeat the US today because they couldn't see everything they needed to. What a crazy little baby! It kept kicking and pushing everytime she'd run the thingy over my belly.

Take care of yourselves! Your time will be soon :)

Julie..
You give us all hope.. Things sound like they have gone really well for you.. Can I ask did you do a 3day or 5day transfer.. Thank you also for the pma (with this 2ww I know I need it) one thing I have had a lot of is irratibility (normal AF sign for me) but I have read that could be a preggo sign too so I just have to wait and see..

Sounds good...

It sounds like things are going good for everybody! I hope it continues. :) I started my Lupron on 5/29 and will be starting Gonal-F and Repronex on 6/8. I had no idea that I wouldn't be able to give those injections myself and my husband works out of state all week! Hopefully my sis can handle it. I have my next appt for US and Estradial on 6/13. My first one was today and all the results were good. My expected egg retrieval dates are 6/19,20 and 21. Me and Niffie are right together.
