I have just had my first scan. I went for the scan prepared to find out if I was carrying one or two. However, I came away not knowing if I would be carrying any in the near future.
At the time of the scan I was 7 weeks pregnant however after the consultant did the scan and measuremetns he explained that I am only measuring at 6 weeks. They were unable to detect a heartbeat and the consultant said he was a little concerned.
He says I am pregnant as there is one sack in there however becuase of the size and lack of heartbeat he can not confirm that all is ok.
I have another scan in 2 weeks time and don't know how I am going to get through them. I am scared that I am going to loose him/ her.
People keep telling me to stay positive but it is hard to. I know that I should keep a PMA but I am always going to worry that things are going wrong.
Has anyone else out there been through something similar? Is anyone able to give me any hope?

Hi
I read your message and just wanted to let you know that my heart goes out to you. 2 weeks is a hell of a long time not to know. Maybe you could consider booking a private scan at another clinic.
Thinking of you

Jacqui - I haven't been throught this exact thing myself - but I know that over the past several months I have read about other women on this site who have had questionable early scans, then gone on to have perfectly healthy pregnancies.
Everyone is different so we (and our babies) don't always grow and progress exactly the same. Some pregnancies get off to a slower start than others because they took longer to implant, etc.
I know it has to be hard - but try to stay positive and not worry. Stress will only make things worse. I agree with the other girls - if you have a way of getting another scan sooner, do it.
Good luck sweetie - I will be praying for you.
