Octopals...back from Basel and my experience wasn't as bad as Loopy Lola's..
It was lovely to be outside, walking, eating and catching up on some much needed cultural events  Although it was sunny, it was pretty windy and therefore too cold for my wee body
Loopy Lola, no time for reading... I couldn't find your author in Dubai... I wonder why. I haven't had time to go book shopping here in Switzerland... everything is so expensive! I'd forgotten about that
DH has gone off on his own today, but I will be joining him later this afternoon as we will be meeting up with our new tenants. I am not sure whether I am up to seeing our lovely newly-renovated house....I mean when moving to Dubai we left so much behind family, friends, my career and our lovely house... just hope I won't be flooded with envy and feel lost when I see it all spruced-up ...
We went to visit my brother and his girlfriend yesterday evening...she has a 7-year old. Gosh, I spent the evening longing for our child... I just feel so empty. We are headed back to Dubai (apparently we've hit 47°C) on Saturday..back to the routine. I need to take it one day after the next.... and luckily you will be around to help me through it

Jen... wow... your car will soon be delivered....how exciting. You certainly sound upbeat. Good for you! Thinking about you lots and crossing my fingers that you will find your dream house. I guess then it will all fall into place, car, house and baby  Perfect timing and ideal way to end 2006. I, like Steph, don't have a snazzy car, but a Ford Explorer. Dubai roads are lethal and mortality rates due to car accidents are second highest in the world....so basically aside from dune driving and the odd 4x4 excursion, a big car keeps you alive on the road

Lola, you're nearly there....there is light at the end of the tunnel. You're doing so very well. Thank you for staying in touch.... you are needed, believe me. My sanity depends on your posts  Am here in St.-Sulpice (village on the shore of Lake Geneva) chanting PASS, PASS at the top of my lungs...do you hear me? May have to stop as could be arrested by the police for unruly behaviour.

Steph...sounds like you have heaps of great things to look forward to!! How lucky you are..so time out with your family, kicking back and relaxing. Good on you  Take care of the Little S.

Walshy....you crack me up with your DIY DH.....it sounds like you are having lots of laughs  Hope it will all be functional soon. You must have faith  Good luck with your beverage...hope your AF comes soon then

Camilla, great to have you back.... what are you up to?

Got to dash Octochicks as got to do my packing today as no other available moments as heaps to do before Saturday.

Much love,

Little R

Sun Salutations!!

Hi Girlies.. Whatz Uppy? I hope all is weel in the OctoLand sections of the globe.

Anyone else completely tired of hearing of baby Shiloh? I mean, people act as if she is the new baby Jesus! She is the child of two ACTORS! Not Nobel Peace prize winners, rocket scientists or even the inventors of chocolate, ice coffee or Post-it notes.... ACTORS.. JEEZZ.

So, my newest Cheese-Fest.... The television show So, you think you can dance? Anyone else watch this cheesy goodness? It is like American Idol, except with dancers. I don't watch American Idol, but I can't help it, I like the dancin fun. I think it is because of my secret dreams of being a good dancer.. Although, I can really rip up the dance floor after a good drink  What can I say, I need a little excitement in my life that now consists of work, home, work, home. I was actually so bored last night that I cleaned my house that was already pretty clean... I also tend to be baking alot, which is not good when everything sweet turns me into Pavlov's dog. Although it is nice to have an excuse not to run around like a chicken with no head. But, the more I relax, the more I realize that I liked constantly going, going, gone. I always thought it was because I had to, nope, turns out I AM my mother who can't sit still for 2 seconds... what a revelation!

So my bunnies...

Littles- welcome back sweetums! Sound as if you are havin a gum drop of a time. I hope seeing your house isn't a downer for you. I don't know how you did that.. moved away from everything, especially when you are going through all of this.. I live 3 miles from my mom and my sister and her family. Ben's family is about an hour away.. and there they shall stay  Close enough to get there for dinner, yet, far enough away that they can't drop by.

Loolers- have takin note of author, as stated above, I need a little excitement.. reading is my favorite pasttime. Right now I am ready "Mr. Darcy takes a Wife" it is a "sequel" to Pride and prejudice.. not by original author of course, by good fun.. a little naughty too... let's say that Darcy and Lizzy made good use of a carriage ride.. Yee-haw. Exams so close now I bet you can smell it.. or that may be all the library dust? I feel your pain, kind of, my bro-in-law has just graduated law school and is studying h*ll for the bar....

Jen- I couldn't bring myself to see that film either... for some reason that movie is not really being put out there over here... the press hasn't latched on.. probably because it doesn't have Jennifer, Brad, Angelina or savior Shiloh..

Walshy- would gladly take that 4k you speak of... how nice. Just think how great it will be when you get preggers with twins!! But, alas, I will be typical american and take off about 2 months and back to work I go. I should have married up... doctor, lawyer, indian chief... instead married a forester.. yep, we are a nature lovin lot... our kid will probably hate bugs, trees, animals and luv computers.. which as you'all know we don't even have one at home and DH NEVER uses one... which is why he hasn't checked into Octo Dudes.. what self control you girls have.. I would be peekin...

Camilla- where to luv?

off like a ditry shirt,

Hello batubers

I am riding the caffeine wave so forgive typos etc.
Well, I actually have some news today after a void of nothing-but-exam-moaning. I got my results from the exam I did in April. To put it in context (to augment the drum roll... :D) the exam I sat less than 3 weeks after my BFN... and I passed! Like, really well!!! Hoot toot! Can't believe it!
Just have to scrape through this one now....

Littles glad Basel was good - it is tough seeing children but we are getting pretty good at it! It will be hard going back to Dubai but at least then you can think about planning for the fet??? And you'll be able to post more regularly

Stephola - we don't get that exact show over here but we have several exactly like it, do you get Big Brother? Its a shame you live so far away - all that spare energy and a clean house... my flat is awful - me and dh both neglecting our duties, we're just too busy. Ben's working so hard at the moment, never see him. Except when he feeds me :D I haven't seen that much Shiloh news but it was extreme before they actually had her.

Jen, Camilla, Walsher where are you???

So yes, I trudge on through the sewage of revision with my welly boots n specs. Can time really drag this much? Even the 2ww wasn't this bad. It is too hot n gorgeous to work!!! Where is benicio del toro when I require saving??? BIG SIGH!!

Adieu ma loves

'allo Chicquita bananas...
My smarmy boss, who we will call greasy, bad hair, terrible skin, big belly mess for now.... called me into a conference room a minute ago to discuss lake treatments. As you know I am unable to travel and definitely unable to treat lakes with herbicides because of Baby Bean, but he doesn't know this, he thinks I am going through IVF. So, he pulls me in and says.. I just want an update on what's going on with your schedule and if you think you are going to be able to treat lakes. I almost broke girls!! I felt guilty that I know I will not be able to treat for the entire summer (well hopefully), and I haven't told him... BUT, I didn't break. I stuck to my guns! I said.. i will let you know in 2 weeks. Which is the date of my last appt with Doc McFertile, but he thinks it is for a pregnancy test. I am not going to feel guilty... it is NONE of his business!! When the 11 week appt comes and everything is good, then I will tell them. He is on a need to know basis ONLY. What nerve though!! He acts like I should be able to predict the future!! PUTZ.

Givin the finger to the man

Hi Girls

Lola - Brilliant, told you a big PASS mark is running after your name, well done girl, knew you could do it. The next ones will be a doddle for you.

Just had our friends pop in for an unexpected visit and spent the last hour cuddling their baby (8 weeks) and getting her off to sleep, think they were pleased with the time off and help but its left me feeling shitty. Just want to cuddle my own baby and feel so down. Sorry girls, am going away to feel sorry for myself tonight.

Will speak to you all tomorrow

Love Jen x

Jemla its ok to be sad. Its not fair! But you will have your own baby one day. You'll be all sorted out in the enlightened county of pelvis after your operation and then pregnant by the end of the year!

My dh hasn't posted as he is uber busy. Works late then works from home when he comes back. It has to stop! He needs a proper wife - not the lazy free loader I've become!

My Octogals.....

Heading home (a little confused about where that is exactly!) tomorrow... but going for some last minute book shopping today. I will try and find the infamous must-read you recommended Looppy

First up...WELL DONE my brainy Lola.... naturellement, this information did not come as a surprise to me...you're my hero in the brain-cramming-and-juggling-it-all department  Mes félicitations!
The news must have definitely made you feel lighter and more motivated than ever to get studying yesterday  You're nearly at the end of the tunnel....July, here she comes....she's a Laddah, wo oh oh, she's a Laddah (Swiss rendition of TJ not a hit  )

Sweet Jen.... you hang in there, lass.
It's okay to feel crappy...and it's totally okay to share... Believe me....I'm not feeling rosey this morning either.
Hope you're feeling much better today. I have been feeling crappy since meeting the new tenants and seeing our beautiful home with someone else in it. To top it all, it was not easy to break the ice with them...I had nothing to work on it seemed. I was basically a chatterbox for about an hour, making jokes and pretending to be the happiest person in the world...carefree and joyful. DH was left speechless when they did not respond to his humour and anecdotes  ...so I had to swoop in and lighten things up. Additionally, they have a 2-year-old that, for some reason, decided to like me immediately. Hence I spent the hour with her on my lap and doing puzzles whilst chattering away about the advantages of living in Switzerland and better yet in our home  Anyway, at the end of the visit...well the little girl kept coming up and hugging me.... nearly broke my heart but managed to keep tears at bay by thinking funny thoughts  Amazing how those survivors instincts kick in  Honestly, yesterday was no walk in the park, but I feel proud to have overcome a yucky situation with not too many scraps.
Jen, love.... get rid of Hello, it's a disaster waiting to happen..... I was faced with Spice Girls' Bluebell on the trip over to Switzerland... I mean...honestly... she had been waiting 5 years... probably not waiting like we wait...
That's what we do every day.... cope with the crappiness that everyone seems up-the-duff faster than the speed of light....with the exception of us
Steph...agreed... but Shiloh at least has cute parents.... the one that really kills me is your national Britney Spears...she's like half my age and up-the-duff twice in a year!!!! Where's the justice in that? Additionally, she's hardly a role model for motherhood

Hihihihihihi, way to go Steph on handling the grease ball.... very cunning  You did well not to break, quite right...none of his business!

Am waiting for DH to come home after local music festival... he spent the evening with his best buddy and slept over at his house. Hoping that he is not too out-of-it today

Must dash.....

Heaps of love and fresh-pollenless air to you all

Yo! Yo !Yo! Whatz up? Diggity...

Stupidest quote of the day from yesterday..... See, all you had to do was relax and you got pregnant....
 :x

So, there you go girls I am giving you the greatest wisdom you will ever hear.. just relax and whammo... why didn't you think of that? Why do you torture yourself with shots and procedures and endless cost, when all you need to do is relax... Yowza, people are stupid!

It makes me steamin. People act like I did this to myself. For the last 2 years and 8 months, I have been standing in my own way and that is why I couldn't get preggers. And as soon as I "relaxed" there it was... what a joke. First of all, I am NEVER relaxed... so there! Secondly, it may have happened "naturally", but cut me a break. I, like you girls, have been tracking my body's cycle for years. I know exactly when I am ovulating etc... Plus, I have had 2 surgeries and a pregnancy from IVF, they dont think all those factors had anything to do with it??? URGHHH!! Besides, how dare they pretend that my little miracle isn't a miracle... it is!! Ok, vent over...

To my girls...

Jen & Littles- you are the queens of nerves of steel. Being with little ones and managing to smile through it... What wonderful mommys yu will make, you put the kids first and they luved you!

Jen- hope the cloud of doom has lifted, or that you kicked it out.. But, if not.. vent away. I did! It's good. better than sex, almost better than chocolate... almost.

Littles- hopin that you are not too sad traveling back.... As for little Miss britney... hunny.. don't even get me started how annoying I find that! Plus the fact that she endangers her child constantly... no car seat etc... What rot that she is so fertile...

Lulers.... Hi bunny! Did ben appreciate the MC Hammer moves... I think with peechy bottom, you should try Baby Got Back.. Demetrio can do the rap. Little in the middle, but she got much back.......

Ch- Ch- Check you lat-ah,
Steph

Oi OI!!!!

oh-oh, I'm in trouble, I CANNOT study today!! It is a super hot (London definition) day and so sunny...... its criminal that I should have to stay holed up in Casa del Pain with nothing but current health and safety regulations for company!!! My brain is fried - I just went to the shops for supplies (no gummy bears!!) and when I got to the checkout forgot my pin. BLANK. nada. lucky had some sponds on me. How can I possibly remember the toxicology of 1 billion organic chemicals if I can't even remember my pin??????? Anyhoo, got some beers for the start of the world cup - need a treat dudes. :D

Steph I hear ya! Both on stupid comment and Babys Got Back  I get comments like that from time to time - it'll all be ok, you just need to relax, once the exam is over blah blah blah!!! HELLO!!! I got zip bueno tubes amigos - there aint gonna be no surprise! Its ivf or quits compadres. Ben didn't get to witness the MCH moves - he got back too late but he will get the full floor show tonight at half time.

Britney! Britney! Trash! The Speares sure has lost la plot.

R - we'll have to put some sort of "see Dubai in a different light" plan together. Seems to me you could do with a change of routine. Or is that me? Anyhoo, it couldn't do any harm. It sounds pretty lame but there was this Seinfeld episode where George Costanza decides to do the opposite of everything he normally does, from the big to the little. I tried it when I was pretty p*ssed off after one of past baby doom dramas and it works. Makes you think differently. Anyway, I hope things are ok with you and you are making the most of beautiful Switzerland. How long will you stay in Dubai you reckon? Will you eventually settle in Switzerland?

Jemla - hope you're feeling better today sweetbean. I know, its babies all over the place at the moment. Thers a car ad on at the moment which trundles on with the usual bore yawn until the end when it says something like "because there's no greater journey than the one with having children" or some such tosh. Ben and I have honed our synchronised finger whenever it comes on. You'll be preg by the end of the year. 1st Walsh then R then me then you, slam dunk! What're you doing at the weekend - the weather is going to be bloody tropical apparently.

Walsher - for once you can be jealous of OUR weather hee hee :D did af come? When are you going to start tmt???? Hey, if the Oz goverment wants to increase the pop then why don't they fund ivf??

well my pretty things, big sigh, I suppose it's time for me to slope off back to coccoon of crapality. Y'know, even if it'd mean I'd fail, I do the damn exam today, I'm just so bored of it AARRGGHH :x

But lets not leave on a negative note, shameless viewers, lets leave with a quick chorus of Ice Ice Baby - to the extreme I rock the mic like a vandal, and so you do Senor Vanilla    Hope you were all doing the moves
