I feel so 'young' here - like starting high school or something! Everyone is 20 something weeks already!!!

L+Mel - what a bummer that DH doesn't want to find out the sex. My DH was the one who convinced me, which was annoying at first, but as you know, now I can't wait! Only 3 more weeks!

I've added myself to the list & put in chronological order. Let's see how right we all are!

KristiA - june 22 (find out sex of twins...gut fee of me & dh - boy/girl)
Mel P - june 23rd (sex tbc .... reckon its a GIRL!)
Bella - June 29 (big feeling it's a BOY)
Tracii - amnio 14 June, big scan with DH on 6 July Gut feeling = GIRL!
#1 -ve severe OHSS
#2&3 FET both -ve
#4 1 blasto - BFP! Lucy Bella born 3rd Dec 06
Jan 09 - FET...BFP!

Hello all, hope all is doing well. Just wondering what is the best time to do a 3D or a 4D scan? I am sure I am to early still. Also is it safe? I would love to see pics like that of my little baby boy.

Madiva,

You don't seem too early at all! From what people have told me, they get the 3D/4D scans at their 18-20 scan, and you can see so much as the baby is very developed at this stage. I am no expert, but have not heard anything about it being unsafe - no different to a regular ultrasound I think.

When do you go for your scan so we can add you to the list?

Bella.

Hello all,

hee hee so we all get to graduate from our hcg doubling obsessions, pronlonged intimate conversations with the toilet bowl, along with knicker checking for loose embryos and presumably are finally convinced its sort of happening. Are most of you guys all over the sickness (and parania!)? What I want to know (yes along with envy!) is who is now feeling the wonderful bloom and experiencing wonderful skin and thick lush hair and fast growing nails? I happen to have no glow (but happy inside :? ) and am sooooooooo tired that am sleeping over 12 hours a night whenever I can.

Had a neat day at work, coz got cooed and ahhed over lots ... as looks like my bump news has somehow made it out at work. In ideal world kind of wish it wasnt out until had the 20 wk scan, but its good not to have the feeling everyone is looking at my puku and commenting that I should have laid off the pies. Stoked and excited bout the scan and seeing bub again, but getting nervous too!

Good luck with the amino tracii

And kirsti at the mo you are first up on the big scan, will be kind of neat to see how true our predictions are.

Hi all,

Can't believe we are all over here. In answer to your question Mel, yes i am over the sickness but definately not the paranoia!!! bought a doppler to try and put my mind at rest, havent been able to find a heartbeat at all, so last night i got so naffed off, i think it is because my scan seems so long away and it really is a milestone one  My midwife couldn't find the heartbeat either but said everything is growing fine and everything is where it should be for the age of pregnancy. I can't wait to feel it, i think i did feel the flutterings once about a week ago.

How is everyone doing? are the rest of you managing to relax? I go the loo about 4 times a night, somedays only 2, i must have a bladder the size of a pea!!!! anyone else doing this?

Tracii - good luck for your amnio

Madiva - Phone the clinic and ask them when is best for the 3D scan, i know too late in pregnancy is not good as the baby is running out of room then so can't move as much, so you don't get as much detail at scan.

I have read in one of my books what to look out for if its a boy or girl on the scan, it was something to do with white line!!! will look it up and let you know, for those who can't ask, may come in useful.

Good luck all

love

Sue - I am very curious about this white line..please let us know! I have noticed my doc when she makes piccies for me she doesn't include the genital areas...probably because I would obsess over the photo and ask her stupid questions! I too thought about renting or buying a doppler but knowing myself...I would sit around trying to listen all day and freak out if I didn't hear anything..so for my and DHs sanity..decided it wasn't a good idea

Mel - I am definitely over the naseau - luckily I never barfed...and naseau only lasted about 3 weeks. Now I have energy..well I don't need a 4 hour nap in the afternoon..only 2 hours  and my hair is awesome!!..skin was good but now getting dried out  Still waiting to pop...naked I definitely have a little belly but clothed noone can tell....still waiting for someone to give up their seat on the underground!

I was hoping to be showing by this weekend..not going to happen. We have a get-together with DHs work colleagues and spouses (working in a vineyard!)..another spouse is having her IVF baby in July and I wanted to talk to her...but because I am not showing we have decided not to say anything to DH's colleagues.....I guess that might notice I am not drinking wine.

I am a little nervous about the amnio but after talking with some friends they said it only lasts about 1 minute, doesn't hurt and was really no big deal. Deep down inside I know everything is OK but we just want this reassurance.

This is going to be a great summer for us 8) 8) 8) (but I don't dare get in a bathing suit!)

Yep, I'm over the sickness also. I do pee 4-6 times a night also. And yes, the majority of the paranoia is gone (finally...it took 17 weeks). This 2nd T is just like the books said...you glow, you feel good, you have energy. They say get everything done that you want to get done in the 2nd T....shopping, projects, decorating the baby room, etc. So that's what I'm starting to do.

As for the white line, a man here at the office who just had a baby said you look for the white line in the female area, because that is the labia forming (yes, a man said the word "labia" in the office). He pointed out the white line in my 12 week scan pic on one of my babies. We'll see if he was right about my pic. 50/50 chance I guess anyway!

I'm going on a short 4-day vacation to Orlando/Disneyworld. I'll miss chatting every day, but will look forward to catching up on reading your posts when I get back!

Hello,
It is so great to see so many of you ladies over here on the 2nd tri thread! When I hit the second tri, most of the ladies on here were around 24-28 weeks so I sorta felt "out of the loop." I've been following the 1st tri thread and so glad to see you all over here :D

I just had my 21 week scan. We actually had to go back for a second one because the first time the baby was way too active for them to see everything. It was so great to see the baby again as we had not seen it since 13 weeks. We decided to NOT find out the baby's gender. It was so wonderful to see the little face and watch the baby making a sucking motion with its mouth. Looked like it kept saying "Mama".

Hope you are enjoying your bumps! I've had some luck by maternity clothes on Ebay. Sure seems easier than regular clothes shopping when everything is just small, med, or large.

Continued blessings to all!

Mel - Am over the sickness, but definitely not over the paranoia. The only difference is I don't feel like I am a big liar when anyone mentions my pregnancy - it actually feels more real now, but I still worry way too much. I had people comment over the pregnancy at work yesterday too - I think it was b/c I was wearing maternity clothes for the first time, which seems to make you look more pregnant!

Kristi - I absolutely cracked up when I read your post - if I heard a male say labia at work, I think I would die! I love the white line theory though - I will have to have a look at my pics & see if there is one I can see.

Madiva - sorry...I must have missed that  Congrats on your boy!!! I think I am having a boy too, but will have to wait and see.

Julie/Sue - I wish I could keep it a surprise, but I just can't!! I'm too excited to know, and want to play around with the nursery so much!!! I guess we'll all have to wait til some time in October to find out your baby's sex :-)

Tracii - I'm so jealous...you seem to be getting all the nice pg symptoms. My hair is awful, and I happen to be one of the pg women they talk about getting breakouts, and no glow. And there's not too many creams I can use either cos you can't use anything with Vit A. Oh well, small sacrifice to make...

H Ladies..I know that I've been awol..hahaha...happy to be here and thankful...I feel ok, but still having morning sickness and pain in my lower back and pelvic area.....big as a house and already waddling like a duck...DR put me on 80% bed rest and 20% on my feet...last night was a tough one b/c I was in pain the whole night and attempted to place myself with DH help in a comfy position but that did not work...however, sometimes it comes with the territory...I try to keep my mind occupied and look at our precious ones on the ultrasound tape...my next one will be 7/11 at 20 wks....

I hope everyone's doing well

Tracii - looked through my books and couldn't find the stuff about what to look out for. I think Kristi is right and from what i can remember you have to look out for lines (3 i vaguely remember) if its a girl and for a boy a couple of dark patches (don't quote me on this, the brain is mush!!!) Hopefully that seat on the underground will be yours soon!!

Kristi - enjoy your vacation

Julie - glad to see all went well with your scan, i will be 21 weeks when i have mine and it does seem ages since my 14 week one. wishing you all the best

Bella, i'm like you still worrying about anything and everything, it must be nice though having people congratulate you finally, you enjoy it.

ahart - sorry to hear that you are having a rough time of it. Just wondering whether anyone has suggested you try sleeping with a pillow tucked between your legs, it helps take some of the pressure off (sorry i can't be of more help) Big hugs to you and nice to see you back

Madiva - How are things with you?

Mel - what you up to?

good luck all and sorry if i have missed anyone

love

Hi All,
Hope everyone is well. Ahart - sorry to hear your having such a tricky time of things, I hope you can enjoy some of the relaxing that comes with the bed rest!

Tracii ... maybe you can try pushing your belly nonchalently a wee bit as your sipping on your diet coke

Bella - dont worry, you and I will surely hit our lovely bloom and be big, blooming and lovely in our third tri as it starts to hit the summer months here (yes I realise this is wishful thinking and were likely to spend the last few months waddling away and sweating away in the heat!

Sue - so patient and so much willpower! Julie did you decide to not find out the sex too?

The doppler must be a mixed blessing too. I had a scare when I got back from the states and had extra check up scheduled coz had gotten sick, and then m/w couldnt find the heart beat. Scared the daylights out of me, so decided not to go ahead and buy a doppler just coz would go crazy every time couldnt find the heart beat.

Happy shopping and holidays to the rest of you and congrats on the news of a little boy Madiva

Hey all!

Didn't manage to post much on the first tri thread, but tried to keep up with everyone! Had our 21 week scan last week - so cool to see the baby in so much detail! Decided not to find out sex, so have added myself to list (even though nothing to say!!) Am 22 weeks today (hoorah!)

Thought my bump was doing very well - finally in maternity clothes - until I saw 3 pregnant girls I know recently. Two are a month behind and one is the exact same date - all 3 are HUGE!!!! I need to get bigger!!! Told dp that must start eating more cream buns to catch up!!! To be fair, I've always been fairly small but would be nice if more people noticed the bump!!! :?

People keep telling me I'm "blooming" but I think they're just being nice!! Didnt have any sickness thank goodness, but have been suffering badly with the pregnancy sympton that NO-ONE seems to talk about. So - here goes - for anyone else suffering (and they say it's one in 3 pregnancies) - PILES!!!!! Was close to punching anyone that even said hello to me was in so much pain a few weeks ago! Finally got an app. with the gp who prescribed some cream and it's slowly going away. Some days are fine and then bang - they flare up again!!! Sitting in a warm bath really helps as does sitting on a bag of frozen peas!!! Obviously doesn't help when at work though - think the others may think that's a bit odd!
Anyone else suffering?

Anyway - have been busy at home painting, sanding, varnishing etc. We've had two new bathrooms put in, painted the nursery, laid a new floor and built a new doorway! No furniture up there yet but was so much to do we thought we'd better start early! Finally getting there - mainly finishing off to do (she says even though there's no toilet or shower unit in main bathroom, and no flooring in the spare one!!!) Hey, ho thank goodness this little one isn't due till October!!!

Anyway have only just returned to work after a few days off so must dash!

Have a great weekend (yippee - World Cup starts today and so footie for next month!! Sorry to those who don't like it, but I'm a HUGE fan!!!)

Hello,

Glad to see all is doing well. I have a question to ask. I am 18 weeks pg and at night I wake up with my fingers going numb and with tingling. I spoke with my Dr. and she said to try sleeping on my back and will talk with me on the 15th for my appt.. Is this happening to any of you and if so what are you doing about it?
