Dawn

I am very sorry for you.

I am sorry to say that something very similar happened to me.

I got to ET + 9 and then started getting my usual signs of AF. Any sign of possible pregnancy disappeared overnight - I felt like I deflated like a balloon. Day before test AF was here in full for me - ET + 12. I had to go test as otherwise they would not close my file and sort me out for my BFN review appointment. But it was just to hear the inevitable.

Cannot say much more than that. Had a pretty horrid AF. But the pain does pass or get a little easier as each day passes.

Good luck for your next steps.
Sending you big hugs.

Hi Carolyn

I am sorry to hear that it happened to you as well. It must be really bad to get an BFN but I was so upset to not even get to that stage.

I am going to see the consultant on Monday to find out when I can start my 2nd attempt.

Thank you for the big hugs.

Good luck sweetie.

Dawn

Good luck for your follow up. I had mine last week. I made a long list of questions - like why did it not work  - not all of which my consultant could of course answer but having the list made me feel a little bit more in control than at the first sessions when we did not have a clue what was happening.

Let me know how you get on. I was told that I had to wait 3 months or 3 AFs to go again and no sign of AF No 2 so cannot see me being able to go again before August at the earliest.

Anyway let me/us know how you get on.

Good luck sweetie.

Hi Dawn,
I didn't get to testing either. My experience was similar to Carloyn's. AF wasn't too bad though, it just took a while to arrive full on- lots of spotting etc.
DH just wouldn't believe it though (even though he has 3 kids already and knows natur's ways) so I had to do a pregnancy test anyway, just to prove to him. That was quite hard- knowing yourself but not being believed until the stupid little box didn't get a line.
I'm currently on day 8 of stims. Go for my scan on Monday. I had 3 months in between. That seems normal practice in this country, but in America you can just go straight into another cycle. I saw a different consultant for my follow up as mine was stuck on a plane. He was BRILLIANT and we swapped permanently to him, so I'm hoping for better things this time.

Good luck with everything.

Hi Dawn. I got to day 12!!! I was so excited. My chest was sore. I kept thinking in the back of my head - sore chest, I must be pregnant. My chst then stopped being sore and on the 12th day a tiny spot of pink blood when I went to the toilet. I was also getting pains in my stomach. I read on the internet and hoped it was just implantation bleeding. Phoned the clinic and she thought it could be the start of my AF as it was quite late for it to be implantation. On day 13 kept going to the toilet checking. Sometimes something there, other times nothing. I was so convinced it wasn't my AF coz when they come they're horendous. DAy 15 is started getting more. I knew when I went for my blood test that i would be neg but I was hoping for a miracle. Start next treatment this month. Good luck with your treatment. Paula x  [/i]

Hi Girls

Well, what can I say. I am so sorry that you have been through the same experience. Don't mean this to sound horrible, but I thought I was the only one that didn't reach the testing stage. Wish you all the best for your next steps.
My first attempt was three years ago. Yes, I know that is a long time but I went through a stressful time after it failed. Cutting a long story short - my DP has five children from previous relationships and the youngest one (14 then) come to live with us and we didn't see eye to eye. He come between me and my DP and we nearly separated over it. Luckily everything has worked out and we are going to see the consultant tomorrow to discuss when we can go for the 2nd attempt. I am so nervous though. I thought I was never going to stop crying when it failed the 1st time.
Hope I haven't scared people off replying to me because it has been so long since my 1st attempt.

Hey Dawn,
Just popping in say masses of luck to you both. Takes a lot of bravery and resilience and good on you for bouncing back. Can totally understand how hard and nerve wracking it must be to be trying again, but have faith.

Girls on this site are totally awesome and supportive, you never have to worry about people not wanting to reply to you! So many people going through and sharing the same heart ache and hard times, I hope you find that this place helps to make you feel a little stronger and less alone :o

My DP and I trying for many many years and felt the same sadness in, he has an estranged son (now 13) that caused some tensions, and in addtion was so hard to not be able to get pregnant when my partner comes from such a huge huge family with so many children everywhere.

Thought it would never happen, but after 6 years if finally has, there is some hope out there! Good luck with your next round.

take care
Mel
