PREGNANCY AND HORMONES??

Hi everyone! I've recently done a 4th transfer and it turned out to be a positive my HCG was 368!! Unfortunately I misscarried 2 days later. I had a question, I have pre-mature ovarian failure and I was wondering if you had to be on estrogen for a few months during the pregnancy until the placenta forms???

Anyobody who has been through IVF and has POF please feel free to let me know how their experience has been and if you were on estrogen for a while !!!! Thank you so very much!!!

I am very sorry for your lose.

I'm not a Dr but if you just done a transfer and you didn't produce the eggs. They should have had you on Estrogen supplements of one form or another from before your transfer. Especially with your condition.

I would talk to your Dr about it and find out why they didn't give you anything.
Did they give you progesterone or were you on a natural cycle

Now that this has happened, they will probably change your cycle next time, but i would talk it out wih them before you start again.

Thank you Rachel ! I was on my Estrace for the building of the lining but I came off of it as soon as I found out I was pregnant and I was also on the Progesterone, we have spoke to the clinic and they seem to think that the embryo produces it's own estrogen. I was talking to another lady who has POF and she said she was on Estrogen for 3 months. This is all so frustrating.....now I am asking myself if I miscarried because of that? Thank you so much for your input I need alot of it !!!

We were told that if i got a BFP i would be on Estrace for the first 3 months and the same with Progesterone. Most clinics do that till the placenta is fully formed and takes over.
It seems unusual to stop taking it when you found out.

Have you considered changing clinic? I would if they intend to do the same again.

You can't dwell on it, it will drive you mad, and you should not blame yourself for what happened, it may have happened anyway.

Do you have any embryos left?

What are you planning to do now?

Hi Michelle! Thanks for the info you are the second person that tells me the same. I don't know what to do from here. We have 10 embies left and we had thought of changing clinics but have no clue where we would go! I even thought of surrogacy but that too am afraid of. If I was able to find someone I can put my total trust in I would go the surrogacy route but it's hard. We have looked into different other clinics it's just a matter of chosing one which is very hard. Either way we have to travel 8 hours to get to any IVF clinic so we will look into it some more and I guess go from there. Thank you so much for your info it helps to hear other's opinions and all!
