Dear buddies

Didn't post over the weekend as was trying to do as little as possible! DH watched the football and I even joined him with a non-alcoholic beer! Am having a pedicure today - how decadent! And I don't even have to leave the house as lovely foot lady is coming here. Might be difficult choosing a nail polish colour, shall I be tempted by hot pink or sumptuous burgundy?

Lola aka Bernard - Thinking of you now doing your thing. What a relief when it's all over, for all of us! Only kidding! A couple of weeks and then you really will be able to relax. I wish I hadn't started Little R's name outing now, especially as Jen already knows and now Littles is on the verge of doing a deal with you! Well, if you find out, I'll do a deal with you ok?

Jen - As Mini is on its way I 'm sure finding your new house is sure to follow. If you accept an offer on your house it doesn't mean you have to move out before you're ready and you'll be in a good position when you see something you like, right? You may be the last person to cycle again but that's ok because I don't think anyone here is going anywhere. Just a thought but what do we do when we get round to Oct? We shall have to re-form under a different name. So something to think about! Oh and Steph's due date is 9 Jan - you must have read her date as we write it here!

Little R - Getting back into a routine may help, do you think? Or maybe you could change something slightly. Yeah, speak to your DH and doc but I've a feeling that when you decide to go for your FET may be more a mental decision than a physical one. I have an idea what your name is, especially as you said it had been mentioned and there was one name mentioned that I would have guessed at. I always thought you were a R......! Also, and you might not answer this either, do you have a job? Or is this top secret? In fact, yes, you're a secret agent.

Walshy - Well done on the dieting and exercising. I bet you feel great. As we've been talking about hot weather, is it cold over there? ie your winter?

Steph - Good to hear you're slowing down, not! What is it that you do? (job wise I mean). Like your choice of names by the way. How many weeks are you?

Well, I realised that I've been on this site for nearly a year! Made some really good friends, did I tell you. And then there's this group of mad women who call themselves the octopussies or something!

Take care girlies.

 Hi girls

Lola - Oh, i keep thinking about you and am worried. You will be going throught the dreaded papers now, sure you are doing a blinder

Little R - Go for it. What have you got to loose, i wish i could just get on with my next cycle. As long as you are ok emotionally and are prepared for the rollercoaster on the awful 2ww then i think it would be ok to try.

Walshy - Never been to Oz either, can i come with R and her dh can fly us all over---there sorted, how does tomorrow sound, are you busy cause it raining here
Haven't started to pack yet as we can't even find a house. Am a bit worried about that but am sure something will turn up soon, if not Dubai and Oz here we come haha.

Steph - Where are you, bet your working too hard again? How you feeling, any sign of a bump yet?

Camilla - Thought it was funny about your trousers falling down----i wish---my trousers never have room to fall down and thats without a bump.

Me - Well just as i was feeling a bit better my friend sent me a text to say our other friend is pregnant  .She completely deserves it as she has been through 5 goes of ivf and is in the process of adopting but i now always feel "why not me"----so selfish i know. When i hear this kind of news its got nothing to do with the people just a longing for what we want so much. She then told me to relax and change jobs then you get pregnant as thats what happened to her. Hello KNACKERED TUBES---- i'm amazed people get pregnant as they don't seem to know how it happens. So i just had another tearful morning, am afraid i am getting like a desperate woman, which i always dreaded happening. Am ok outside and will put on a brave face but at homes a different thing.

Walshy - Just got another viewer ringing to see my house in half an hour today, just when i was writing about packing, you must be my lucky mascot

Will log on later to see how our Brainy Chich got on--------it will be a big PASS, i know it  .

Love Jen x

Sweet Jen....you hang on in there....it will happen for you..I am sure of it... as much as I am not sure for myself, I am always sure for others
You're doing so well.... the following are all comments that depending on the day/ my mood, I cannot listen to without cringing or wanting to scream outloud: patience, relax, lighten up, take things easy, stop worrying....

I am thinking about you and The Memory Stick.

I am wishing you the sun and heaps of PMA.... as for the Memory Stick, am sure she will do brilliantly as usual

BTW, you will find your new home...no doubt about it....good luck with the packing....

Heaps of smiles to you all,

Little R

Octoroos...
Yowza, so much chat over the weekend. had a book to catch up on, which is perfect for my morning work avoidance efforts. Blah.. Mondays..... Anyone else feeling like chucking the alarm clock out the window this morning? Although I am sure that I am having more fun then our La-dey Lola.. she is right now proving she is the master of the universe and finishing exam in record time... Instructor: "Why, Dr. Lola, that was amazing, I have never seen such speed, competence and a peachy bottom all in one package" Lola: "Hands off the merchandise Pops, Demetrio..a little assistance please" Demetrio: "That peachy bottom and MC hammer moves are all mine" and inserts needle filled with death serum into instructor..... What a morning!!

Jen- Your house sounds like a hot ticket. I say up the price! I am glad to hear that you are feeling better, but sad that you were down... those darn roller coasters....

Walshy- quite a bargain you get for an IVF cycle. Ours cost about 10K. No insurance coverage for that either... Congrats on being skinny minny. You will have membership to Lolas Peachy Bottom Club in no time. Oh, enjoy the second season of Grey's.. it is even better than the first. Juicier, steamier, sexier...

Littles- the talk huh. I hate those life changing talks, all though always better for them. All you can be is honest. Figure out what you want before DH gets home, have a plan of attack and if all else fails CRY. If he is like my Dh he will be a putty in your hands..

Camilla- in peddy heaven. I need a pedicure, STAT. As far as my job, I am a stripper at very exclusive gentlemens club. No kidding, that is only my side job. My real job is in natural resources.. projects on streams, lakes, wildlife, etc. Preggers- I am 10 weeks tommorrow!!! 2 scaries left.. HooRAH.

Lolers- still thinkin of ya!

Shootin the moon,
Steph

Firstly - you are all fantastic! I've always known this but it crystalised today when I got back from the exam to see all your messages. I LOVE YOU. And I mean that! You are all my favourite people, full stop. OK, enough of the gush :D
So, as you ladies have been there every step of the way.... I'll keep it brief...
Paper 1 - essays, chin strokey reasonable, I may have passed it...
Paper 2 - slides (the picture round) AWFUL. But it always is and everyone felt the same... or did they......
Paper 3 - essays again, waffley and not bueno... scraping a pass is a bit ooh a bit ahh a bit woosh. It was one of those disappointing papers where they don't really test your knowledge. Why did I bother learning all that stuff? Oh, thats right, to do the orals (steady steph) in two weeks.

Anyway - this part is OVER!!! WOO HOOO!!! Just have to find some energy to carry on and blitz the next ones.

Man, I am exhausted. And it is SO HOT today in Londres, panic on the tube!

So little miss little.... she remains elusive....I will consider your deal... About the fet, well, tricky. After my last one I had to have a break but the clinic said I could go again in a month. You need a few weeks at least sweetie. Can't believe Greys has stopped! We're just at the stage where Mer finds out about Ders wifey. I think she's being a bit too harsh on our Dr McDreamy.

Jemla - maybe you should have a T shirt printed with BLOCKED TUBES emblazoned across boobs and a pictorial representation of said fallops at the bottom so you can explain with the help of visual aids. As for friends getting up the duff, it never gets easier, its always a heart deflater. But focus on the bueno! Mini! House! Suntan! The world, my friend, is your lobster!

Walsheroo - nice one on weight loss, Mr Rational may be very irritating but he is also right...and very sexy so a streakin' ozzie tells me... Whilst you're offering Tales of the Sydney.. I'll be there in December or January probably so we'll have to catch up. I'll be staying in Elizabeth Bay. Whats going on with your af? Oi, sort it out! August life raft launch will be a blinder! I've sorted out some bunting and lots of ticker tape so kick back amiga!

Stephanola + uno - slow down a bit! Relax! You need to start taking more care of yo bad self, y'hear?? Kick it in Cinders! And Camilla - she is a stripper! The whole eco - lar di dah is a front and an unconvincing one at that :D Turtle racing indeed...
Your little skit about peachy butted Dr L and handsome yet cold and severe examiner is a foretelling of my exams in 2 weeks... I'll be sure to wear appropriate, ummm, uniform. Honest, I know I've worked hard for these here tests but if all I had to do to pass was pleasure an examiner, I'd do it in a flash. Do you think less of me?
What date is your 12 week scan? We need to keep it in mind.

Camilla - I hear ya! Enough of the exam talk! I also need a pedicure..it is prehistoric down there. I have also been indulging in the fake tan light moisturiser thingy - it is BRILLIANT! I look like I have a circulation now! What colour did you go for btw?
You're right, it is amazing that we've all been together since last October. I did a little chart (study avoidance technique 623) looking at all the original Octos and who is pregnant/had a baby. I know R (regina?) Jen and Walsh won't be yipping it up for this next statistic but we were a lucky thread! 11 out of 15 of us are pregnant or have just had a baby. Now here's a competition... can you guess who the remaining 4 are?  Hope my girls were in the mood for that news. WE WILL DO IT!!! 2006 is our lucky year!

OK my amazing 'bers, me, Bernard and Demetrio are off to the pub for a well earned pint.

Until tomorrow, wisecrackers

Mornin Soul Sistas (& by that I mean fellow nutters)

Well, it seems that everyone is away today... except me. I am exactly where I should be.. chained to my computer in my cubicle... oh the joys of cubes..

Lo-la-la-la.... hopefully major hangover from extensive partying that occured for celebration-oh-test-over! Is unable to lift head from pillow, turn on lights or smell any type of food. Demetrio keeps offering a little hair of the dog, but Lolers keeps refusing promising she will never drink and hail tot he porcelain god again...

Littles- hmm, fantabulous friend time today. Sounds a treat. I luv my girl time! .. my friends and I venture out for a girls dinner about once a month and always end up closing whatever restaurant we are in.. our hubbies don't understand what we talk about for so long... them of course!

Jens- off to work... too bad you can't chat away at work like I do.. but I guess the kids don't allow any free time heh? I hope all is well with your papa-in-law... I have made a ruling that we shall have no more stress in our lives!!

Walshy- where to sweet buns?

Camilla- with her brightly colored toes and beautiful feet!! If I remember correctly you said you are not finding out the sex- you nutter!! I could never do that. I need to know.. I am a planner. I have to decorate accordingly. I liked your names by the way..

As for me... isn't there always a kink in our roads... the docs called yesterday with PAP results from week 7 appt. They found ASCUS (or atypical cells).. well fertility doc wanted test done right away, it had to be done in next 2 weeks while still in first trimester. But, regular OB said that since my HPV result was negative, that we could wait until after baby was born.. so after many phone calls and opinions I chose option B.. wait until after baby comes. Selfish reason of course, if I had the test done from reg doc, I would be done with fertility doc and wouldn't get my 11 week ultrasound, which I think will be my last until the 5 month ultrasound. I don't think the OB will be doing ultrasounds regularly. I really want the extra reassurance!! So, I will be having my 11 week ultrasound on the 21st (next wed) ... then on to reg doc the next week for regular check-up!! Fingers crossed! I can't wait until the next ultrasound so I can finally get excited about the baby..still too nervous for that right now.

Steph

Hi girls

Not much to report, except hot. Just thought I'd check in.

Lola - Glad you got through your exams without exploding. Just one more lot? I went for the paler of the two tanning moisturisers as I have pale skin. Would love to be really dark but think I might look a little strange! You're right how can the Octochicks fail with this much effort and support.

Steph - I no understand your test results. I know it's the other way round really and that you are a stripper and have the other job as a cover. No need to be embarrassed but think you'd better stop when you have a huge preggers tummy!

Jen, Little R and Walshy - Keep your peckers up girls.

Love you.

Buenos tardes m'bers

Man alive-oh. I am still utterly exhausted after yesterday. No kidding, every muscle in my body hurts.
Didn't celebrate last night - still have the second part to hurdle - which is going to be a beatch, I hate orals (insert snigger here).. and then there's the clinicals. Just want it to be OOOVVEEERRRRRR.

So R, watching the match? I'll be supporting Switzerland on your behalf here in hot n sticky London. Do you have a World Cup Wallchart? I love the World Cup, only less so this time as my teams (Wales, Chile and Turkey) aren't in it. Am reduced to supporting Mexico. I can't support England as my dad would disinherit me. But shh, I do really. Hope you're having a top day with your girlfriend. When does your dh get back? You have "the talk" to endure. I'd go with Stephs advice, though I have had only limited success with the cry thing.

Stephanwch - option B is ok if your doc says so but don't forget to get this sorted as soon as little bub is born. Will you do me a favour? Get yo bad self a ticker for your scan date so I can remember - you know what my memory is like lately. Cubicle working... it sucks and indeed blows. I would hate it. Work wanted us to have open plan but we can hardly examine patients like that...doh. I think the manager was just PO'ed that we could each have own office and he couldn't, hee hee. Will you get picture from the scan??? How exciting!! Do you remember Nes who joined this thread the same time as us? She gave birth to twins about 2 weeks ago. My due date was the same date as my birthday in July. Hey ho.

Jemla - work is ass. I would just love to kick all this in a become a housewife and mother. With some secret missions on the side of course  Any more news on the house front? Are you going on holiday soon? And as we all seem to be in the information mood, why did you move to Scotland if you n dh aren't scottish? Hope your DIL is ok.

Camilla - subtle tones always best, I too am just using the fair skinned one, I love it.

Walsheroo - check in ma love.

Well, today is my study day but I'm finding it too hard to even get books out. I am feeling in a really girlie romantic mood I don't know why. While browsing tv last night caught a repeat of final episode of Sex and the City. I have such a crush on Mr Big. My friends don't understand it. Is it really so strange?

Anyhosyodaddy
I'd better at least try and do some study - back to work tomorrow, full clinic of depressives and unhappys, woo hoo! I shall hit them with the stethescope of happiness!
