a little worried

Post by pjpalmer »

Hi,

I am just over a little 11 weeks pregnant and I have been very lucky in that so far I haven't really had too many cramps, but this week I have had more aches and pains then ever. I have also had little niggling pains below my belly botton, im guessing it my may where the placenta is. Did anyone elses pains increase like this?

I have my nuchal scan next week, but am not sure whether to contact my midwife.

Paula

If you are at all worried then contact your midwife they don't mind how often you call.

I have not experienced this so can't comment sorry - good luck

Sounds like ligament stretching. If you're worried, call your midwife or doc... that's what they're there for, right?

Hi Paula,

I had the same aches and pains, on the right and left and around the belly button, they were never low down and so far i am over 18 weeks pregnant. They can be caused because your uterus is stretching inside and moving up.

all the best

I'm 11 weeks too and have had more little niggly pains this week. Nothing bad but one morning I just didn't move all morning because it scared me! that morning I had pain on my right side, especially when I moved. I called my doctor and she wasn't too worried, just said to call back if it got worse. It went later in the day.

Is your belly getting bigger yet? Sometimes I think I'm imagining it but then I am sure its starting to stick out! Might be just that I'm eating too much!

My midwife said that I could get cramps up til 12-13 weeks and its just the uterus stretching.

I'm having my nuchal scan next week too! Its good to speak to someone at the same stage as me so can I ask another question? have your symptoms eased off now? Mine have. That worried me too but I really feel pregnant so just hoping its all okay.

my gp warned me that twinges and niggles would be felt. I had lots very early on but quiet at moment (only 8 weeks though). I am sure its a good sign of things growing!

Hi Terri,

yes my aches seem to have gone and I did really unwell on friday so had an emergency appointment with my gp, who checked the babies heartbeat and said everything was ok.

She told me that because I had a major operation when i was a teenager and have a huge scar alreeady on my tummy, my aches and pains may be more than average. She told me to start swimming which i have and it does help.

My belly is huge and Im already trying t hide it from the people at work so fingers crossed when i have my scan on friday i can start telling people. I am really nervous about the scan are u?

Like you im constantly hungry and am eating liek a horse. I having cravings for tomatoes at the moment which is good for you, but not for my indigestion. Do u get a lot of wind? im terrible and my gp says that some of my aches may be also to trapped wind.

wow what a relief to speak to someone who is having similar symptoms to me!

I'm so glad you are okay and your GP reassured you.

I just laughed when I read your post! I have not stopped burping for the last week..............my poor husband! I am one of these people who holds burps in unless there is noone else around as I hate burping! If I don't burp I am in pain and feel sick!
I am starting to crave healthier food which is a relief considering the crap I have eaten in the last 2 months!

I am nervous as hell about my scan! I think after what us ladies here go through to get pregnant, we get more worried about scans and tests. I have my nhs 12 week scan tomorrow although its a little early. I'm scared to death about that one too incase they say 'sorry its all gone wrong' Even though my belly is getting bigger and I feel pregnant. I even did a pregnancy test the other day just to make sure I'm still pregnant. How mad is that?
then I think, what if they found something wrong on the nuchal scan? What would we do?

I don't know, we go through the 2ww and then we have all these other worries.

Hi Terri,

Mines on friday. Its wierd because I have two EDD, 26th Dec or 29th Dec, as my clinic use the the day of EC as day one, but the hospital im now under use ET as day 1. How did yours work as I know your EDD is 29th.

I had EC on the 5th April, ET on the 7th April and got a BFP on the 19th April.

Let me know how you got on.

Hi Paula

I got on good thanks.........well eventually. I was there nearly 2 hours as I struggled to get a full bladder! I was very sick today after having hardly any symptoms for weeks! Every time I drank water I threw it up!

was good to see the baby on the scan! Now I can just worry about thursday's scan.

I'm not sure how they worked out my EDD. I think it was from the first day of AF but then its not completely accurate as I was a bit late ovulating. I didn't have IVF. I was on menopur injections and having acupuncture.

how are you?

The nuchal scan was amazing Paula! As soon as the baby appeared we could see it kicking its arms and legs around! It was overwhelming. they gave us a dvd too so we have bored everyone with it.
She said I had as much risk as a teenager of having anything wrong, everything looked very normal so that really put our minds at rest.
It all seems more real now.

How was your scan? and how are you feeling?
I was feeling better but today feel sooo tired!

Our scan was also great. I must admit I wasn't looking forward to it through a past experience, but my results were also great and for my age nearly 37, they put my result as a 28 year old which was such a relief. Our little one was sitting with its legs crossed, waving around.
They have now put my date back to the 29th December as they work out the dates slightly diffent form the clinic we use, so our EDD is thge same day.

I feel so relieved and even told a few people at work today. To be honest i couldn't keep it a secret much longer I have a little tummy on me.

I still get aches and pains, but thats normal I guess and the unterus is suppose to move up by the end of week 12. I have another appointment with a consultant on the 6th July and my next scan (23 weeks) is booked for the 30th August.

We going to devon next week and im so looking forward to it.

Do u think the worry ever goes? probably not, but at least my DH has noticed im a little more chilled out now and have been a nightmare to live with these past few weeks.

Im off for a shoppping spree this weekend before we go away in monday so cant wait to splash out on some new gear.
