Hello Ladies:

I was able to successfully complete my 2nd HSG X-ray attempt!!
It was not pleasant at all. The radiologist is definitely not used to dealing
with women's anatomy. I was very crampy afterwards. The good news is that nothing seems to be wrong with my tubes and/or uterine lining.
Hopefully, that torture will help increase my chances for success with the next cycle. I sould be starting AF around 6/22. I will then go in for a scan and start my estrogen pills. We should be doing the ET for the frozen cycle mid July.

Amfy: I'm so sorry to hear your news. I too know about the stepson issue, as I have a 13 year old stepson.

Son: Good luck on your 2ww. We need another BFP!

Anna: Good luck with the scan on Monday. Please change my status to "starting frozen cycle late June" and "adoption papers sent to China"

Bev: How are those little embies doing?

Caz: Grow follies grow. When is your next scan?

Have a nice day all.

Hi Amfy, just logged on again to see that I missed your post this morning whilst typing my epic out. I am sorry that you don't have better news. Although I am sure that you are sad, you do seem to have your head in a good place and looking at some of the positives in life. Take care, I am thinking of you.

3 day vs 5 day transfer for frozen cycle

Post by teachertam »

Hello All:

I was talking to my IVF nurse today about my upcoming frozen cycle.
She said that instead of doing a 5 day transfer, they do a 3 day transfer with a frozen cycle. Has anyone else done a 3 day transfer with a frozen cycle. I'm just curious why they would change to a 3 day transfer, if they
normally do a 5 day transfer with fresh IVF cycles.

Regards,
Tammy

Hi all, this 2 ww is killing me!! I am only on day 6 post transfer
(that is taking the transfer day as day 0) and I am going round the
bend. Today, I have dull cramps in my tummy - don't know if these are
AF cramps or not. I don't normally get much in the way of cramps
before AF, but I am wondering if they could be more noticeable because
of the drugs used to thicken my endo.

Because I have been on all the drugs for endo/progesterone etc, is
this likely to delay AF if she is coming? What would be the earliest
I could do an hpt without fear of getting a false positive? Indeed,
am I likely to get a false positive as it is DE, it's not like I have
been taking the stimming drugs. I just wish I could go to sleep for
another week or so, and wake up just in time to do the beta.

Any thoughts anyone?

Hello Ladies,

All of your stories warm my heart. Your dedication to each other is incredible. I wish you all the best.

I need to be brief, as I'm trying to work. .... my third HCG was 1561. I am feeling pregnant most of the time. I feel dizzy, bloated and some minor bouts of nausea. However, I am a nervous wreck. My first scan is 6/20. My doctor won't sign up for the twin theory yet, but I will. I think it is two. I had two big fat blasts transferred and I think they both stuck. Two would be great - being that I'll be 40 when I'm giving birth, might as well go through this once. Of course, I'd be happy with one too. My due date is Feb 8th (can this be true????).

Oh yeah - my acupuncturist gave me some advice that i adherred to - after ET EAT FRESH PINEAPPLE. Do you all know this? Apparently, there is some type of enzyme in the pineapple that encourages implantation. Right or wrong, I ate an entire fresh pineapple over two days after ET.

I'm trying so hard to stay positive and not worry myself sick - but it is hard. When I read this board, I am reminded how lucky I am to be this far.

best of luck to you all
If it can happen to me, it can happen to you!

Bev,
Since you did a DE cycle and had no HCG injection to trigger ovulation you can't get a positive from that. Generally the earliest i've ever gotten a positive (with multiple implants) was 4 days post 5 day transfer but usually not until 7 days post 5 day transfer. Of course the brand of HPT you buy makes a big difference. Try to find one that detects a HCG level of 25 or lower.
Caz,
I'm sorry to hear about your cancelled cycle. Take care of yourself and know i'm thinking of you.
Lisa2,
You have fabulous numbers. I think you may be right about that set of twins. Best of luck on your scan and keep us posted!
As for us, we've found out some more devastating info about our foster baby. She will not be considered for a liver transplant because as if that's not bad enough an affliction she has hydrocephalus and as a result her brain never grew to normal size and therefore has very limited cognitive ability. All we can do is love her and take things day to day.

Caz: I'm so sorry to hear your news. Take care of yourself.

Bev: I agree with Lisa in that it is the HCG booster shot that affects the
HPT. I do not know anything about positive tests though.

Lisa(2): Twins would be great for you! I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Lisa: I'm very sorry to hear your news on your foster baby. Take care.

Hi all,

Jen, so sorry you are feeling low. Come back in September, we will look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Son, hoping to hear some good news from you this morning. Fingers crossed!

Hey Anna, how did the Scan go yesterday? Hoping and praying that things are going well for you.

Tammy, how are things going for you at the moment?

Lisa, thanks for the advice re the HPT's. I am so sorry about your foster baby, I am sure that you will love her all the same. She is very lucky to have found you both.x

Caz, sorry to see that your cycle has been abandoned. Understandable that you are feeling low. Good luck with your follow-up on the 20th.x

Hi Lisa (2), your scan date is the same day as my test date! Your beta sounds great. Fingers crossed that there are two little beanies in there. I would like 2 also, if given the choice, however, as you say, one would be great! Looking forward to hearing your news after the 20th - good luck to both of us eh?

Well me, I am still waiting it out. I don't remember the last 2 ww being quite so horrendous. One of my very good friends has emigrated to Qatar a month ago, and I am missing her tremendously. I wonder if that has something to do with it. Although I am able to email her daily, it's just not the same. My other good friend is 3 months pg (after 3 failed pg's and the death of her little boy when he was 2 days old). She is feeling very fragile, as you can imagine, and also has been suffering really really badly with sickness - ended up in hospital for a week! So I can't badger her too much at the moment also. Maybe the problem is that I have too much time on my hands (DH is working very hard at the moment, taking him through to the end of the summer term).

Oh well, I can't grumble too much, I appreciate that I am lucky to be in my 2 ww.

Hi to all our other over 40's crowd. Looking forward to hearing some good news from Son and Anna.

Just a quick update to let you know that it didn't work for me this time. A BFP, I'm afraid. :( Was so hoping I could share some positive news with you today...

We did get further than we’ve ever been, and with a grade A embryo so as they say "it’s onward and upwards"… I have to sit out one cycle but if AF behaves I could be on my next cycle already end July.

Not feeling too good right now and will be needing some time to recover. But looking forward to chatting with you all again soon.

Wishing everyone on this thread lots of success….

Thank you so much for all your support!!!!!

Son: I'm so sorry to hear about your negative test. Keep thinking positively and you will be right back in the game before you know it.

Anna: How did the scan go yesterday?

Bev: You will be testing next week. Try to keep busy. I know that is easier said than done.

Jen: I hope you get feeling better.

Lisa(2): How are you doing? I'm keeping my fingers crossed for twins.

As for me, I'm doing well. Once AF comes next week, I will go for a
baseline scan and then go on estrogen pills for 2 weeks. The ET should be about the 3rd week of July.

Hi again all,
Sorry for delay in posting back - I never seem to get the time to sit down and write mails these days!

Anna - hope the scan went well yesterday, do you live in Barcelona or have just decided to have treatment there?

BevT - Wishing you all the best of luck for 20th, I know the 2WW seems to last an eternity but hopefully it will all be worth it. I was surprised at the percentages my specialist quoted as well, a little optimistic I think (nice if it were true though)

Son - Really sorry to see you had BFN yesterday - however, as you say with a grade A embryo thats as good as it gets so good luck for July.

Lisa(2) - hope all goes well with your 1st scan next week and fingers crossed for twins for you! p.s. thanks for the tip on fresh pineapple - I will be stocking up ready for our next attempt!

Caz - sorry to hear you had to abandon cycle, hope all goes well at your appt on 20th.

We have decided to try again using my own eggs one more time as although the percentages are not as high as with DE we think it's worth another go on our own. We are going to wait until after my big 40 now, as we have a party and holiday planned for beginning of July. We have booked an appointment for first scan on 18 July, hopefully this will be second time lucky. In the meantime I am trying to find an accupunturist here on the Island after reading that it seems to have helped so many - not sure if it's a bit late now though?

Good luck to everyone, especially those on 2WW here's hoping for lots of BFP's...
