My Lupron is in the belly but my Gonal-F and Repronex are both in the butt and it's a very awkward position so I can't do it myself. Fortunately my DH is home this week and next so he can do them for me. They are not fun. My ER is the 19th, 20th or 21st.

Update from Niffie

Post by Nifferela »

Hello gang!

Today is Tuesday, June 13th. I had my US and Estradial yesterday. All looked good. Yesterday was day 7 of my stims and I had the following to report for eggs.

Left ovary= 5 follicles over 11mm. Most were 12-13mm and 3 less than 10mm.
Right ovary= 5 follicles over 11mm. Most were 12-13 mm and 4 less than 10mm. I feel pretty good about those numbers. The RN said that things were progressing just as they wanted. She said that follicles that measure similar usually grow together, so hopefully all of those over 11mm will grow together. That will give me at least 10 to work with. My uterine stripe was perfect, and measured just right. (not sure what that means?.

I am going to remain on my stims until Thursday AM when I have another US and Estradial. I am getting excited because the end is near. I have been feeling so good, but started feeling sick yesterday. Nausious, headache, moody. Today I feel good, but still have a headache. MCRH said I can take tylenol, so I took a couple, hoping it will help my headache. I also had to resort to my stretch pant capris yesterday. My lower abdomen is quite distended. Boy, that will make a woman feel attractive

I hope everyone is doing well. Julie, thank you again SO SO SO much for the Gonal-f pen. It will get me through Saturday, which is EXACTLY what I needed. Thank you again, and God bless you! I hope to return the favor some day to someone that needs help.

Brenda, I hope you're doing good. I guess no news is usually good news, right? Jackoa and PinkCali keep up the great attitudes! I look to the board daily for support and encouragement!

I'll let you ladies know THursday afternoon when our ER will be. Please pray for us!
Thanks!

Such great news from everyone.

Jackoa21 - Congrats on the BFP! I am so happy for you! You must be just ecstatic!

Niffie - The numbers are looking great! I hope you get some relief from your headaches and the bloating. Can't wait to hear when the ER will be. Sounds like this weekend maybe? I was glad that you could make use of the meds. I'm so glad that they didn't just go to waste.

Way to go ladies!

Hi ladies!!

I'm sorry I've been away for so long. Work has been really hectic and I've been extremely tired so trying to catch up on some zzz's whenever I get an extra second.

I am feeling pretty good. Quite a bit of nausea but no vomiting so that is good. I just feel pretty yucky all day long. I am now 11 weeks and am hoping this will all start to fade soon. And very tired. I had a bit of a cyatic thing with my back for about a week too but now seems to have disappeared. Thank goodness. Dr. said it can be from everything getting bigger and if it pinches in the wrong spot that can happen this early. But I am doing well. Less than 2 weeks now on the aspirin and progesterone suppositories. I'll be really glad when that is done too.

My official due date is January 2. However, I will be having the baby sometime in December. I had my OB appt last week and I will be having Csection. I had several complications with my daughter and ended up with emergency C, so will just plan it this time.

Julie-- I hope things are going well for you. Is the heat bothering you yet?

Niffie-- I have been thinking about you alot lately as I know you are in the thick of things as we speak. Your numbers and info you gave look great. You are responding to the meds great. I wish you all the best of luck!! I will say some extra prayers for you this week. Good luck with the ER and ET!! They will take very good care of you there. They are the best!
I just talked to my brother over the weekend and he has a co worker who just had ER & ET with Midwest Center last week. They have a little boy who is about 18 months and Dr. C also helped them with him also.

Well I've got to get going. I have a conference tomorrow and have to leave very early in the morning. I'll try to keep in better touch. It's really hard in the summer. I'm not in the house much. Have a great weekend everyone!!

Encouraging...

Post by pinkshellee »

It is so encouraging to hear everything going so well for you guys. I had my "cycle day 9" US and Estradiol today and all was good. When I went in on "cycle day 7" it was progressing too quickly so they cut my dose and now it has slowed down. I have to go back in on Saturday for "cycle day 11" and to schedule the ER. We're hoping for Monday. I'll let you all know!

SO, if I'm hearing this correctly... Brenda, Julie and Jackie all have a BFP, right? So, I guess it's up to Niffie and I to keep up the pace? :) I honestly have no doubts! I will keep you all in my thoughts. Keep us posted.

If you haven't already done so, check out our web site! www.basicallybarnett.com
We added a "Name Poll" to the "Misc Info" page and have updated all of the info on there. I'm really excited about it. I don't work, so it keeps me busy... You can also check out our blog for more in depth info on our journey!

The clock is ticking now!

Post by Nifferela »

Hi girls!

We got our plan for ER. I will take my HCG shot tonight at 8:30pm. We will report to MCRH at 7:30am on Sunday morning. Please pray for us! I'm so anxious, nervous and excited!

I'm retaining water now. I went to a few garage sales today, and when I got home and took off my sandals I had marks on the tops of my feet! AHHHH! I guess that's a good pre-lesson to pregnancy.

I have seem more great things at garage sales for baby, etc. I want to buy the stuff so bad, but I just can't do that quite yet.

Again, thank you all for the support. I'll update you all with my egg count on Monday. I can't believe the day is finally here. Collectively, it's been a fast journey, but day by day it has been long.

Talk to you all soon!
Pray for us!

Successfull Retrieval

Post by Nifferela »

Hello all,

I had my retrieval this AM. They ended up with 12 eggs. ICSI will be performed on all of them, so we will know tomorrow (I assume) how many fertilized. I didn't sleep a wink last night, nervous, anxious and worried all at the same time. I wish I would have known it was going to be such a piece of cake. I didnt' feel a thing. Now I'm very bloated feeling but so happy that my follicles weren't empty.

Based on my age and health our transfer will be sometime Tuesday AM. I'll know more tomorrow.
Thanks for all the prayers and support!

I'll keep you posted.

Congrats Niffie!!!
Glad to hear things went so well. 12 eggs is wonderful!!! I would think you should have a good number of them fertilize and then you will definitely have some left to freeze. Do you know how many you will transfer? Have you talked about it? They will help you decide also. The embryologist will talk to you about how they look when you go back for transfer and she will give you her thoughts and that should help. We did 2 this past time but have done 3 in the past also. Take it easy now and try to get some sleep. The hard part is now done. The easy part is all that is left. Transfer is very simple. But the 2ww is very hard. Just try to stay positive and take it easy for awhile. They tell you 2 days I think. But don't overdue it after that either if you can. I wish you nothing but the best and will continue to say prayers for you. Please keep us informed on how things go on Tuesday.

Post Transfer Pain

Post by Nifferela »

Hello,

Can anyone tell me if they had severe bloating and cramp like pain the day after transfer? I feel like I've been consitpated for 2000 days, and it's even hard to get up from the couch, as my lower abdomen is so sore. They didn't really give me anything talking about post retrieval details.

Anyone else have this, or should I be calling the nurse line?

Thanks,
Niffie

Hi Niffie-
So glad to hear that things went well at the ER!!!!!! I am so happy for you. I went to work the day after ER and ended up leaving early because of pain and cramping and bloating, etc. I don't think it is unusual to feel like that. You may want to call the nurseline just to give yourself peace of mind. They may tell you that you can take a Tylenol for the pain... but, I don't remember if you can take anything at all between ER at ET. I hope everything goes splendidly for you tomorrow. Hope you have lots of grade A and B embies! We transferred 2 (A-) embies... we were thinking we would do 3 since we thought it would give us a better chance, but Dr. C said NO WAY because of my age and embie quality. They consider triplets to be a failure because of the risk factors.

Best of luck tomorrow... Prayers and happy thoughts going your way!!

Niffie- Sorry to hear you are uncomfortable. Did they give you that post ER sheet? It should describe some of the possible side effects. If you are not sure and just not doing well, I would for sure call the nurse line. I hope you are better now by the time I am writing this. And you should be going for transfer tomorrow, right? I really didn't have too many side effects other than getting so sick from the anesthetic but once that passed I was fine. I will pray for lots of little Grade A's for you. I transferred a grade A and a grade A-. Dr. C said the same for us as Julie mentioned, no way to doing more than 2 this time. They were of too good quality and didn't want to risk triplets. One good healthy baby is still the best!!! The best of luck to you and I will be checking right away after work tomorrow to see how it went. Remember to rest and take it easy too. Once again, I will say extra prayers tonight.
