New Girl

Post by kateag »

Hi! Im new to this board, husband and I have our 1st appointment on monday to see if we can go with ivf or if we need icsi as well.

Have absolutley no idea what we are doing, and we are really nervous!! We have one daughter who will be 4 in October, and she was concieved naturally within 5 months, so this is all very scary and new to us. We have been trying since november 04 and had a m/c in september last year.

Any advice, or anything would be brilliant.

Hi Kate,

I am 6 weeks pregnant from IVF ICSI (with our first go!) and I remember being at your stage and thinking how huge and confusing everything is. My recommendation would be to read as much as you can about it (Zita Wests books are very good, and also you learn a hell of a lot just from joining one of the threads on the general forum) so that you are as informed as possible. My other recommendation is about health, you wouldn't believe how tiring IVF is and being as healthy as possible really helps. Its also really important to look after yourself really well and rest as much as possible. It is a hell of an emotional rollercoaster but it is worth every moment for the end result.

Good luck!
