new to this side, with a question!

Post by kdc2006 »

hi all.....i had 2 embryos transferred on the 28th may and happy to report a BFP.....im due a scan on the 28thjune which by then should make me 6weeks and 6days(pregnancy calculator)....

since EC my belly has been some what 'bloated'....now few weeks on my belly has took shape...so to speak....i look as if im 4 month and im a bit uncomfortable....trying to get comfortable in bed is a problem too...i no longer fit into my size 10's...im now into size 12's...boobs are bigger also and i know pregnancy brings these changes but i just think its too early to see the changes....my weight is the exact same as before ivf treatment... is all this normal????

my work collegue is 4months pg and im slightly bigger than her ...

my partner is really worried and wants me to ring the clinic...its only over a week to the scan and i feel ok apart from being uncomfortable...

anyone else 'shown' a bit early?...i know there is a chance of twins...though i still think its too early to show....

its also possible that the meds you are on are making you swell. I was quite bloated to start out. It catches up quickly.

Also, make sure you are drinking tons of water - if you have a case of Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome that's the only thing that works. Just let your clinic know whats happening, they can advise you.

Congrats on your new pregnancy!

And, yes, there's always a chance you're having more than one.

thankyou denise....at EC i only produced 7 eggs out of 8 follicles and thankfully my chance of hyperstimulation was low...my doctor did say that i would retain some fluid and would have an extended tummy for a while...but what i have now is shocking.....and im not on any meds apart from folic acid...though i know the meds for the treatment cause a difference....

the truth about my posting....my partner commented last week how my hips looked a bit large as did my bump.... ...so ive been keeping an eye on it and he is right....the knickers i wore last week are too tight this week.....anyway thanks for your reply

best wishes..... kareenx

Kareen,

I had a 5 month belly pretty much from when I first found out about my BFP, and like you, I was a size 8-10 prior to being pg. I was really uncomfortable about it at first, b/c no-one I knew got that big that early. It's hard to feel 'proud' of your bump when it is still so early and you have so many worries still.

The best advice I can give is enjoy your bump! Once I hit 12 weeks and saw everything was OK on my scan, I started to flaunt it, and stopped worrying what everyone else looked like at the same stage (although I still sometimes feel different..). I bought maternity clothes & really try & accentuate it.

Let us know how your scan goes!
