Hi

im new here and may well be looking for loads of advice over the coming months.

Im 37 yrs old and have 3 children from previous marriage, been with my new partner for 5 yrs, he has no children. We sadly lost our baby at 7 weeks to an ectopic nearly 2 yrs ago, along with a tube. After all this time and investigations we now find ourself needing ivf due to remaining tube having hydrosalpinx. I am having this removed on the 15th sept and have 1st ivf consultation 12th nov and having received all the info today its so scary and im not convinced i`ll understand it all.

Im also feeling a little freaked about losing my remaining tube, i know its useless and had hoped a micacle could have happened but times run out for that.

I seem to have been on a rollercoaster ride for so long already, just hoping the ride comes to an end soon i suppose.

thanks for listening

annie

Hi Annie, I just wanted to say welcome to the board - you are in the right place for advice and support!

I had an ectopic back in December and lost my right tube and understand exactly how freaked out you must be about losing your remaining tube - it is something I really worry about.

We had our first IVF in July (unfortunately it didn't work out this time). When you first start down the IVF route - it seems much scarrier than it actually is. I think I was fairly lucky and didn't have any side effects and so the only hard part for me was the dreaded 2WW and of course when we discovered it hadn't worked.

Best of luck for your op on 15th September.

Love

Dolly

hi Annie

Welcome, welcome, welcome!

You sound like you've had a rough ride, at least you'll have friends and support now. You've come to the right place.

I promise you the hardest bit of IVF, is the getting started. It took us 2 years to actually get into the 'system' and started. The tmt itself is nowhere near as daunting as you imagine, I promise. Even the dreaded injections are fine, you have so many blood tests and scans that popping a little needle in each night, is not big deal.

I hope everything goes ok on 15th. I can't really imagine how you must feel, I have two tubes but they are both buggered, so I guess they are as useless as not having any!

Always here if you need to chat!

love nikola.xx
Hi Annie

Just wanted to say Hi and welcome to the site. You will find that all of the girls here are fantastic and are an endless inspiration to everyone.
I like you have two children from a previous marriage and DH no 2 has male factor so we start our first ICSI cycle with AF in Sept (should be around the 20th). I am a little nervous but anxious to get on with it and I alternate between being convinced it will work and then convinced that it won't!
Time will tell!

Anyway good luck to you, make sure you keep us all updated and my best wishes for your other tube removal op.

Lorraine G
