I sure hope there is a silver lining to this cloud!

Post by Nifferela »

:( Hi ladies,

I had my transfer today. We transfered two Grade B embryos. Of the 12 eggs retrieved, those were the only two that fertilized. Dr. C. said that my eggs are abnormal. Under the microscope they are bumpy and lumpy inside. The two that fertilized were normal, and they were dividing just as they had hoped, so of course, we transferred those. I have to admit I was very sad and down when we got our report card, but after he transferred the 2 embies and said that he believes these eggs have great potential, I decided I needed to be happy and thankful we had 2 to even transfer.

It only takes one, and several people find success with C grade embies, so I'm not going to complain or be down anymore. I will anxiously await July 5th (which is my beta test) and be thankful for what I have thus far.

I am feeling a bit better today. Still terribly bloated but they assured me that was normal. I am so "blocked" up though, if anyone has any suggestions for fixing this problem, I would greatly appreciate it.

Well, I'm going to relax now. My hubby is sleeping. He woke up with the stomach flu, so I drove us down and back. I sure hope he feels better soon.

Thanks all for your words of encouragement!

Hi Niffie -

Just try to keep up with the positive mental attitude. You are right that it does only take 1. The next 2 weeks will certainly be a mental challenge. Every little twinge, pain, cramp, weird sensation, etc may drive you bonkers trying to figure out if they are good or bad. (At least, this is what happened to me. :) ) My advice is to try to keep busy, try to stay positive and NO MATTER WHAT, DON'T DO A HOME PREGNANCY TEST. Try to drink V8 juice or chicken broth as they will help with your bloating. Protein will help too.

Well, it is all in God's hands now. I hope your little embies will continue to thrive and stick. July 5th will be here before you know it. Let us know how you are coping during the 2ww.

I'll be keeping you in my thoughts!!

Hello... I joined this forum 1 week ago, I posted 2 to 3 times but nobody replies yet but is ok. This forum has helped me so much through all the treatment that is amazing; you all are so brave and beautiful ladies.
Let me tell you a little bit of which part of the process I am right now, to make the story short my ER was done last Friday 16/06/06 the retrieved 19 eggs!! Thanks God all of them were healthy and mature, finally out of 19; 14 fertilized and 4 of them were blastocyst., so yesterday was ET (day 5) they transferred 3 and freeze 4; 1 in early blastocyst stage and the other 3 on day 3.
On the 30 of June I will have my pregnancy test.!!! I feel this is one of the hardest part of the whole process.

Good luck and baby dust for all of you

Liliana -

Hello and welcome! It sure sounds like you had a great outcome from your retrieval. You are right that the 2ww is possibly the hardest time. Well, you are half way through it. Not long to go! I hope you are feeling good and that in a few days you will have a BFP!

Good luck and keep us posted :)

As the days roll by

Post by Nifferela »

Hi girls,

I hope all is well. Liliana, welcome. It sounds like you had a great egg turnout. I will add you to my prayer list. Things are going okay for me. I test on July 5th, so I have a ways to go. I have to admit, so far I'm doing okay. I'm staying really busy. This weekend we are having a garage sale at one of my girlfriends, and then next week I'm going to travel to different spots in the state to visit some friends and relatives. I'm sure by July 1st I'll be going insane. I've decided to name my 2 little embies
"Henny and Penny." I talk to them each day, and encourage them to stick around. I've even imagined their conversations at times. Perhaps you could all use a laugh, so here's what I imagine them sounding like.

Henny "Come on Penny, let's get out of here. It's too dark in here. I'm not sure this is where we should be."

Penny replies "Oh, Henny give it a chance. So far she's just my type. She likes to relax, laugh, and she like ice cream! What more could you ask for in a uterus?"

Henny "Seriously, Penny. Is this a place you want to spend the next 9 months? I was hoping we could spend some time getting a tan. This is not the place to get a tan!"

Penny "Oh, Henny come on. Let's make a spine. It will be fun."

Okay, I will stop right there and save the rest of you the agony. Now that I review my thoughts I realize that maybe this 2 week wait is getting to me after all :?

I hope that PinkCali (Shellee) posts her results today regarding the fert. process. She and I are right on schedule with each other, and that has been really nice to share the journey.

Talk to you all later!
Have a great day!

Hello girls, My God Niffie you are so sweet.. I got tears...
God is great and I will keep you all in my prayers.... I have a question, does anyone feels something different after the ET? Any side effects? Anything that makes you feel that you are probably pregnant? I'm getting crazy...
I’m so glad I’m coming back to work next Monday. Something that is not helping me to much is the heat over here...is really too much 105F, is crazy!!!! . I’m leaving in Pakistan, I am from Colombia..

Two week wait is 1/2 over!

Post by Nifferela »

Hello!

I hope everyone is doind well. I'm hanging in there. My 2 week wait is now whittled down to one week, and thus far, I'm staying sane. Things are going well. I have had some cramping since Monday night, nothing major, just one major cramp in the middle of the night Wed. night. I sure hope I'm not getting my period. I know many woman cramp from implantation, but I'm just not going to make too much out of it. It could be anything. All is going well except for the stupid progesterone suppos's. I have now developed a nice infection "downtown" so I'm battling that. I can't hardly stand it anymore! I have to keep using them at least until I get a positive prego. test. Did anyone else use those, and if so, did you use them through week 12 of your pregnancy? Did you suffer from the dreaded infection too?

Well, nothing new to report, just trying to stay positive and busy. I sure hope Henny and Penny (my two embryos) decide I can provide a very nice home for them)
Talk to you all later.

Hi Niffie -

Glad to see you in such good spirits and not pulling out your hair! I did use the suppositories for 11 weeks. I was lucky to not get an infection, but never-the-less, those things suck! What an icky mess. If you are blessed with a BFP, you can discuss with Dr. C if you can cut back on using them. Hope this next week goes quickly for you. Hopefully it will with it being a holiday weekend.

Take care!

HI girls!!

Niffie - glad to hear you are doing OK during your 2ww. I also used the progesterone suppositories through 12 weeks. I just finished up on them this last week. Thank goodness!! They are a mess! And no I never developed any infection or anything like that. Good luck with that. What day do you test this week? I am saying lots of prayers for you.

Julie - Things are going well for you still, I assume. How many weeks now?

I am doing well. Now almost through my 13th week. Feeling a bit better and starting to get a little energy back. I am also starting to not really fit in my clothes very well. This 2nd time you really do get bigger, faster. I also had some news from my OB last week. She ran alot of tests due to my preeclampsia issue my last pregnancy. I delivered my daughter at 33 weeks. So she is a bit concerned about this time also. She is a high risk Dr. and is very good. I have clotting Factor V, also called Leiden's. It isn't a real big deal, except when you are pregnant because you have so much more blood volume. And the blood will become thicker and ready to clot easier, which we do not want. That alone can cause the high blood pressure. So she has put me on blood thinner for the rest of the pregnancy. And it is injectable!! Once a day shot. SubQ so it isn't that bad, but I really thought I was done with those things!! She told me this should give us a 30-50% chance I do not develop those symptoms again. So it is definitely worth it. It is making it a bit longer of a pregnancy though. So I am doing well and things should continue well, just a bit more pain. So there is my catch up. I see her this next week again for my regular appointment.

Have a wonderful 4th everyone!!

1st time is not the charm for Niffie

Post by Nifferela »

Hello,

We weren't lucky this time. Henny and Penny did not stick around, so we will try again in September. I actually got AF on Friday, so I knew that the chances weren't too great when I had AF for 4 days. I'm doing okay though. I spent most of Friday crying, and then I just had to pick myself up and move on. We still have a couple more tries in us, and my hubby and I still have each other, so life isn't so bad :D

I will continue to check the board as I love hearing updates from you all, and I'll beging updating again of course once I start my meds in late August.

Thanks again for all the positive support and encouragement!

Niffie,
I'm so sorry to hear your news. I was really hoping that things would work out for you and your DH. I hope you are doing ok! I'm glad that you will be able to start so soon again in September, although it probably feels a long way off to you. Maybe the time will seem to go more quickly since it is summer. Please let keep in touch with us and let us know when your next cycle is starting so we can track your progress and give you some moral support.

Niffie - I am so sorry to hear your news. I was really praying lots for you. But I am glad to hear you are doing well and thinking about moving on to the next try. Keep positive. We had 2 failures 3 years ago before we had our daughter. Our positive came from a frozen embryo transfer. It was a very rocky road but she was worth every penny & every tear. She is now 2.5 years old and is ready to be a big sister. So keep the faith. You have a great Dr. and for whatever reason this time just wasn't meant to be. Hopefully that will be this fall. Please keep us posted on things. And now try to enjoy the summer and get ready for the next try. Good luck!!
