Thanks everyone for your warm wishes!!!

I am starting to feel I have more energy although getting up in the AM is always a fun challenge, but I think that is a comfort thing! I have only gained 2 lbs so far!! Yay for me since I had some extra to start with but I know the days I can say that are numbered for sure...I am sure within the next 6 weeks I will be able to say different!!!

Cla, I saw the same heartbeat monitor you are mentioning. It was a local store here in the US (kind of like a Target, K-Mart, Walmart type of store). It was just $20 US.

Tomorrow is my big day to find out the sex's. I actually feel more excitement & anticipation about tomorrow than I did during the 2ww. In some ways it feels like I'm going to "get to know them" or "meet them" tomorrow. I think it will be exciting too since it's been 8 weeks since the last scan....they are going to be so much bigger!

I'll post tomorrow and let you know if my boy/girl gut feeling was right or now. Then Mel is the next day!!!

I had one of those $20-30 monitors and they may work in the later months but I know early on I could not hear anything....So before you spend your money - how far along were folks before they actually heard anything??? I know with a doppler I will use it until I can feel the baby moving - then that will be reassurance...

Hi Ladies,

I just popped in and saw you were discussing the heartbeat monitors. I had bought the $20-$30 one at Babies R Us but it was for later on in the pregnancy. I really wanted to hear the heartbeat early on so I went on the website heartbeatsathome.com and rented a hospital-grade doppler. It cost me $20/per month and you can rent it for as long as you want. I only used it for the first 5 months for peace of mind and it worked great! I would use that company again as the product quality and performance and customer service was great. (Just a Suggestion) :-)

Hi ladies

Traci - Congratulations on your girl! Image

Went to OB for first time (heard the heartbeat) Image and got results on Nuchal (all fine Image). Will be having what they call morphological scan July 31st.

Haven't though about nappies yet, will get round to it in time. Image
Haven't bought anything for baby either  , though I'm really looking forward to doing so often and soon. Image

My belly is really big (has been since tmt and growing) Image , nothing but maternity pants for me for a while now. Haven't put on much weight though, just 2kg. Image
Getting less tired, but nor quite having the "burst of energy" I've read about in the 2nd tri. Image

Hope everyone has a good week.

I go to my high risk U/S specialist on 7/11..hopeful to find out the sex of our other beanie...I strongly think they're boys....DH thinks otherwise..

Jamato - I ordered the doppler, reg 2 - 3 day deliv..thanks...Having it will make me feel better

Hi All,

It's nice to hear everyone sound so happy! I want to buy a doppler too, but DH feels it would just be feeding my paranoia, and if on one day I happen to not be able to find the heartbeat, it would send me into a panic. He's probably right.

On the nappies - when my friends had their little girl last year, I bought them 6 weeks of a nappy service as a gift. It wasn't too expensive, and was really convenient for them as the service comes around when you are out of nappies & delivers fresh, folded ones, and takes the old ones away to wash. I think the bulk washing is a bit more environmentally friendly too. I think I will buy this for the first few months, as it seems so much nicer to have them in cloth rather than plastic when they are little.

Kristi - I'm soo excited for you. Make sure you post straight away. I feel the exact same way as you - I have been counting down to next week so much, and just can't wait to find out what sex the munchkin is.

Thought I would put the list back up...

Cla, what a crack up! You strapped the heart beat monitor to your cat!!! Jeeps, the things we do for fun, just make sure you keep the nappies away from the poor furry baby! Bella like you am resisting the doppler, coz it would feed my craziness and paranoia!

Nice to hear everyone is well. Jeeps feel like have put on a pile of weight, compared to all those who only put on a few pounds. Usually smallish frame, but was 5kgs over my regular weight after tmt and have put on another 5kgs since being p/g ... and sure most of it is my backside! My belly doesnt feel any bigger to me.

My scan day is tomorrow. Gulp! NZ being a day ahead, we will be scanning within hours of each other Kirsti! Am bit bummed as they moved my appointment yesterday and now my DH cant make it :( am reluctant to move it a whole week away, coz would miss my appointment with my m/w who goes through the results they dont actually tell you too much at scan apparently. So feeling a bit nervous about going by myself

see you guys later! Will post scan news tomorrow

Mel P and Kristi - Have fun at your scans!!! Can't wait to hear the news :D

Bella - You are next..not long until you see your little one :D

MLG - When is your big 'sex'scan? We can add you to the list and your gut feeling.

Jessica - I am happy your cerclage is holding and have graduated. I know how hard it is to think you will get to see the little one with u/s and then they don't do one....when is your next doc's appointment?

Cla - I too am cracking up about the heart monitor on the cat!! I can see myself doing it to my dogs..poor things...I keep telling them their world is going to change come November and keep telling them about their 'sister'....I don't think they understand

Sue - I hope your blood pressure is staying in the healthy range. How long until the end of work? Just a couple of more days until your scan as well :D :D

We are doing good...I think the little one has decided to grow, grow, grow this week...last night I really felt my uterus stretching and still feel it today. I am in-between clothes right now which means I have nothing to wear  ...and it is horribly hot and humid in Vienna...no complaints but we went from winter straight into summer. I am feeling her kick more often and last night I actually felt her kick from the outside (I had my hand on my stomache)...it is so amazing. My mom sent an email telling me to bring an extra empty suitcase back to the US for my visit..she has been shopping  . My sis has 2 boys and so my mom has been waiting eagerly for a granddaughter....bad thing is she is giving me name suggestions...agghh...I am just like 'oh that is nice'...even when we have a name I am not telling anyone.

Is anyone hungrier then ever???? I have been hungry during the pregnancy but now my hunger pains are stronger and come more often. I woke up last night at 2am craving a fried egg

Mmm - fried egg. Could eat that right now. Or boiled egg, poached, scrambled. Chocolate would be good. Maybe a sandwich or a burger. PIZZA! Ok then - a piece of fruit. Me, hungry?!! Yes, I'm constantly starving! My thing in the middle of the night is weetabix!!!

Re: monitor and when you can hear - mine says from around 20-24 weeks you can hear. We started to really hear it from 21 weeks (although obviously very fat fluffy cats can be heard all the time!!!)

Bella - I love the sound of the nappy service. What a cool idea!!! Is this just an Aussie thing or does anyone know if it exists in the uk? If it does I'm asking for that from friends instead of pressies for the baby!!!

Ohhh - how did the scans go today girls? Any news??!!!

PS - For those who've not looked yet, I contaced my local NCT about antenatal classes and on the two in my area there is just one place left already on each! Just in case anyone thinks it's too early to book - most say you can do it after 12 week scan so get calling!

Ignore my "do we have a nappy service" in the uk. Have just found out we do in fact have a National Association of Nappy Services (Nans!) how cool! Now all I have to do is find someone in my area!!!!

Mel, I was just wondering while showering this AM if you were in a time zone ahead or behind me, for the exact reason you mentioned!!!! Then I read your post.

Good luck to you! Sorry your DH can't go with you. That's a bummer, but you can call him immediately and give him the fun news. I leave for the hospital in 1 hour and am so excited! I'm trying to decide if I should drink a coke with caffeine so the little ones are active. Otherwise I'll just walk around briskly before the scan starts. I've gotta have those private parts showing!!! :)

Can't wait to hear your results. I'll write later too.

Well, I was 50% right. It's 2 boys!! (Not boy/girl) So everyone has been saying that boy/girl would be "perfect". But I'm sure each of you shares my same feelings when I say "I don't care what the sex is! I'm just happy & blessed to be pregnant!" Both babies were healthy and had all the rights parts in the right places and they were moving around like crazy!

I updated the list for me. Can't wait to hear from Mel next.

The Big Scan
Madiva - June - BOY!
Cla - 1 June - Sex a suprise - gut feeling = boy!!!!
Tracii - amnio 14 June, results on 16 June Gut feeling = GIRL!, & it is a GIRL!!!!

KristiA - june 22 - gut feel was boy/girl = turned out to be 2 boys!
Mel P - june 23rd (sex tbc .... reckon its a GIRL!)
Bella - June 29 (big feeling it's a BOY)
Sue - 3rd July (will be keeping it a surprise)
Ahart - 11th July (Twins ....)

Kristi - CONGRATS!!! That is by dream....2 boys! I was always a tom boy growing up, and I love footy (Rugby League here in Aus), so would love a house full of boys. But yes, as you say, it is a blessing just to have the littles ones all healthy. How exciting! Will you dress them the same??!!
