Hello everyone. This site was recommended to me by some ladies on Bounty.com. It seems it's very popular and some of the girls were saying they couldn't have got through their treatment without it.
We have been ttc for 4 years. I have severe endometriosis and what's known as a 'frozen pelvis'. Have been treated twice in the last two years with 6 months of Zoladex injections followed by operations to free adhesions and drain cysts from my ovaries. IVF will be our only chance of conceiving naturally as I develop adhesions at the drop of a hat. I had the last surgery 6 weeks ago and we are due to start our 1st IVF cycle in a couple of weeks. We can't afford to waste time waiting in case the endo returns and sticks everything together again. I am feeling positive and excited about the next stage but wondered if anyone has any advice on how to go into this. I am trying to keep an open mind but sometimes find myself thinking I could be pregnant by the end of the summer. Is that wrong!? Its hard not to get too excited and I don't want to set myself up for disappointment.

Hi Ems and welcome to the site. Your source of info is quite right. This site is fab and really helps as you go through the roller coaster of IVF treatment.
For more info on all things IVF lots of ladies on this site recommend books by Zita West. The one called 'fertility and conception' is great . It explains everything really clearly.(no-one on comission, the book is fab!)
It is hard not to get too excited, just take one step at a time. You'll be fine. Yes...you could be pregnant by the end of the Summer!
I'm sorry I don't know anything about adhesions and endometriosis but
come and join the general forum . I'm sure someone there will be able to help. Just join a thread, lots of support and advice coming your way soon!!
Good luck with your tmt.

Welcome - i am quite new to this too but already have found people to talk to who are cycling at around the same time as me which is really helpful.
I am a bit ahead of you but thought i would offer some advise on the first part of the treatment. I have just successfully downregulated and started with the stimming drugs. The downregulating part was supposed to take 3 weeks but ended up taking me 5. Until a checked out a couple of these boards i thought this was highly irregular and that i was a bit of a freak I found out that this was not the case at all and it made me feel alot better. So just to say - don't worry if you take longer than normal (although i hope you won't) and go easy on yourself with your emotions as they will be all over the place. I found booking facials and massages etc for after my scans took my mind off things a bit.
I am also swinging between thinking i might be pregnant soon to telling myself not to think like that. i think its good to be positive though, if not always the easiest! I know exactly what you mean about not wanting to set yourself up for a fall though.
Best of luck with everything and hope to speak to you again.
hi ems
welcome to this site and sorry to hear about your endo.. sounds yukky! Good luck with starting this incredible ivf journey. I tried to prepare myself by booking in treats for myself all the way along, I went away with my dh for a couple of weekends, i booked a weekly massage and also weekly acupuncture and all of it together really supported me. I never usually do anything like that and so it helped me slow down and try to focus on positive things for myself!!!
keep us posted on how it goes and do ask any questions
Good luck!

Thanks girls for your words of advice and support. They really mean a lot and its so nice to hear from people going through the same thing. I have a close circle of 5 girl friends, 3 of which are pregnant and due in July, September and October, and although they say they are supportive, they can never really know how it feels to go through this. They all got pregnant at the drop of a hat, one of which was to a guy she'd known for a month! So, needless to say I have had a pretty cr***y time of it recently! At the moment my brilliant DH and I are concentrating on keeping ourselves busy, enjoying each other's company, and putting a bit of distance between us and our social circle. I don't know why, but I feel like I don't really want to be socialising at the minute, apart from with my Hubby and family. Is that weird????
Anyway, I've rambled for long enough but thanks again and good luck to both of you. Perhaps we can catch up on the July thread?
