Hello ladies..
I have posted here once but I thought I would ask for some advice...I hope you dont mind..I have PCOS and with my IVF in the end of May we got a BFP. My HCG stared out ok but never quite doubled. After one week the doc did a scan and nothing. Well my number went down a little and than went up again. We have known it was going to be over but not really sure if it was ectopic or just a regular miscarrage. I am devestated and ended up taking methotreate to stop this part of the loss..
here is my question. I dont think the doc really knows if it was ectopic or regular my HCG levles never went above 2000 so the scan did not show anything. Are my chances with a second IVF more likely for an ectopic. Should I insit they remove my tubes? I am still going through constant monitering for blood and hoping my levels just decrease the way they want..
Again I am sorry for such a long post I just have been struggling to understand what this was and if my chances of this happening again are worse..
thanks

Jackoa21 - from my understanding...the doctor would know for sure if it was ectopic...it sounds to be you unfortunately suffered from a chemical pregnancy - this is a pregnancy which is not viable and you are unable to see anything on a scan...I suffered from a chem pregnancy in October...and I am so sorry for your pain. Please, please contact your doc if you have questions and ask him exactly what happened if you are unsure.
After my loss my docs reassured me that next time my body would know what to do with an embryo...many woman suffer from early m/c (I read around 40% of first pregnancies...but many go unknown because they just think AF is late)...unfortunately the loss is like a practice session for our bodies...you will get pregnant....don't ever lose hope.
