is d&c necessary after m/c?

It's about 2 months i had my period. Last friday I came to know that i am going to have m/c. I want to ask my doc(this wed'day) to do D&C. I don't know whether it is necessary after a m/c or just wait for AF. How long does it take to get AF after 8 week m/c?

I'm so sorry you are going through this..
I dont have any answers really, except that I think a D&C is done if normal bleeding hasn't happened for a while,plus it helps to clear the uterus of all old blood...

Reddy, you're in my prayers. I've been there too, I was about 9 weeks when I lost my first baby.

I was on progesterone, so when I stopped that, I miscarried naturally. If not your doc may recommend d and c. Hurts emotionally either way. Hugs - big ones.

my doc told me that if we wanted to try to do ivf again soon then it would be better to do a d&c.
i wish we wouldnt have done a d&c only cause i couldnt barry our twins.


i bleeed right after my mc and have bleed evey month sence then..

i truly wish know one would have to go threw this.

Sorry to hear your news. You take care of yourself.

I know my doctor wanted me to miscarry naturally. He said that there was always a slight risking with scarring after a D&C which they would prefer not to have. I waited a week but when it still hadn't happened I asked for a D & C as emotionally it was too much to bear.

You have to do what's right for you.
