help 1 year old grandma

ok guys i need some help!
our grandaughter is 14 months old.
she has now 6 teeth and more comming.
she wakes up at 3 every morning..


she has been living with us while her parents work some things out.

long story..
but we havent had a baby or a one year old.. she is always on the go.. she was walking before she was a year old.

she will go and act like she is going to turn off the tv and i will tell her no and she just looks at me and laughs and then turns it iff and takes of running and laughing.. it is very funny and so cute but i dont want to teach her bad habbits...

what do we do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, its a long time since Abby was 1, but I think if I were you, next time she turns the TV off just ignore her and leave the TV off, its sounds to me like she is doing it for a reaction and if she doesnt get one hopefully she'll stop. I think at this age they see how far they can push you and enjoy seeing your reactions to things.
I hope her parents work things out soon

Definately sounds like the 'pushung the boundaries' syndrome! Put your foot down girl, or she's going to have you wrapped round her little finger....

I'm laughing as I write this as Sam gets away with murder sometimes as he's bolnd with blue eyes and a smile of an angel... it's so hard not to laugh as they're so comic at that age, but you pay for it later if you do...

I'm with Susie's advice - what works best with Sam is ignoring him or not speaking to him.

she alreadys has us wrapped around her little finger....

i just dont wanther to be a brat cause we thought every thing she does is so cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!


she is a really good baby. from what i have seen from others..

she is trying so hard to talk.. she babblles alot and she does say granpop for grandpa. it is really cute..
i hope her parents can work things out to. i know dh and i love having her but we are the grandparents and it would be to easy to switch modes to being her parents.

now how do you get them to sleep all night?

Sleep is a very different ball game, but again I think rountine and perseverence works. Sam is all over the place at the moment but I think we're not being strict enough. It's also very light at night here and he thins it's daytime all the time...
