Tammy, I am so happy for you, now we have so many over 40 preg women in our thread, how fun!!! You and Naula start my dream now, I am dreaming that I will have a natural pregnancy one day in the future...
All we need is "relax". Naula did Yoga/pilate, you submited your adoption paper, and others just decide to give it a break and take vacation... We normally can not be relaxed by telling us to do so, instead, we are more tensed if we try to relax. We have to surrender, we have to stop trying, we are calm, we are patient, we wait, things just happen natually, ha ha ha.....
So, your baby will be at similar age of Elana, just like you wished for. When will be your first scan to see the heartbeat?
Hi everone who asked about me, I am having low grade fever every now and then, I believe the fever is caused by embryo(s) growing steadily and actively. I called my clinic this morning and they are not willing to see me unless my fever reach 104F.
Lisa, I hope you are doing ok?

Thanks for all your kind words. I am still in shock. DH has to give a progesterone shot to me tonight and I have to go tomorrow to get a progesterone booster shot. I'm not sure what is next. Do I get another Beta test? When is the first scan done? I am clueless.
Yasmina: Yes, Elena will be the close in age to my baby. That will be like have twins, but just getting them 6 - 8 months apart.........lol. I hope you get to feeling better.
Bev: When is your scan? How have you been feeling?
Anna: Have you taken a HPT yet? I guess the big test day is tomorrow. I'm sending loads of babydust to you.
Lisa: How are you doing?

Tammy

Hi all, well, I am on tenter-hooks waiting for my scan tomorrow, wish it was now!!!!
Anna, any news yet? My fingers and toes are now numb from keeping them crossed, and my eyes - well, they'll never be the same. My mum warned me "If the wind changes........" Can't contain my excitement much longer.
Tammy, are you still reeling? With regards to another beta, it seems to vary from place to place. Some get more than one beta, others don't even get one!! If you want another to check that your levels are still rising, why not ask for one. They can only say no. As for the first scan, that is normally not done before 6 weeks, sometimes between 7 and 8 weeks, there is more chance of seeing a heart beat after 7 weeks, but it is not unheard of at 6 weeks, and in any event, you should at least see a sack and hopefully a yolk!! See what your "carers" offer or suggest. Are you under your doctor at the moment as this is a natural pg? I should imagine so, so you will not have a clinic involved. Ask for everything that you would like, you never know, they might give you everything you ask for and more. Still so happy for you, every time I think of you, I break into a smile.
My scan is as I said, tomorrow at 8 am, so should be able to let you all know the result by mid morning. I feel fine Tammy, a bit queezy, and on occasion the odd twinge, I am trying to believe that it is "things" stretching and growing etc. I really really hope that I don't lose this precious cargo and that we get to full term and a healthy happy baby (or two)!!
Hi to Kat, Yasmine, Alison and Lisa and everyone else who is dropping in.

I had an appt. with my IVF doctor. Even though this is a natural pregnancy, he wants to monitor me for the first trimester. I went this morning and had a progesterone booster. I go back in two weeks, for my first scan (~ 5 week) and a progesterone blood test. I asked about the 2nd beta test and the nurse said that since my level is so good, it is not necessary to do another one. They only do the 2nd beta if the level is low. I'm still in shock. I have been having twinges too. I think that is natural.
I can't wait to hear about your scan tomorrow. I'm hoping for 2 heart beats!!!
Anna: Any news?
Regards,
Tammy

Hi all, well the scan went well this morning, and yes there is ONE strong heartbeat to be seen, 6mm long!! If the truth be known, I had convinced myself that there was more than one, and I am a tad disappointed that there wasn't two there, but hey, I know deep down that one is more manageable. I will just have to go back later to use my frosties and hope for a sybling that way.
Let's not get ahead of ourselves though, it is still very early days so I am counting my blessings and hoping that this little one continues to thrive.
Tammy, glad that your IVF doctor is monitoring you, that will give you added confidence and anyway, it's nice to have a bit of continuity, especially if you get on with him.
Anna, still sending you a shed load of hugs.x
More later,

Bev: That is great news! You are right........one baby at a time is much for manageable. How many frosties do you have? DH is stressing about the thought of me having this baby and then getting Elena. We would be getting Elena when the baby is around 6-8 months old. Elena could be anywhere from 8 - 18 months old.
Anna: Thinking of you.
Take care all,
Tammy

Our list I just went over our list and found Lisa2, Bev, Me, and Tammy's baby are all one week after another. I would be fun one day, we all get together and play match makers to our babies.
Anna, had your test result? Your baby will be similar age as Tammy's!
Bev, great news! Of course, one baby at a time is easier to manage. My husband is very worried about having more than one because we have transferred many grade A embryos – my doctor told me at my age, there is almost zero probability to get multiples. I am not expecting two, but my husband keeps worried about that. He worried about that one takes advantage of the other, makes the other one developmentally delayed, as many of the dizygotic babies do. Natural monozygotic twins won’t give this problem, he said. I said we have seen enough healthy triplets from trizygotes (I personally met two triplets -six healthy and lovely kids), so, I am not worried about having more than one, but I agree, one is easier for me who has no experience at all with infants.
It is hard to wait for my scan. I wake up at nights to calculate how many days that I am pregnant and what my baby(ies) look like at that moment, worried about whether they are doing what they are supposed to. Am I eating right these days, am I poisoning my baby(ies) due to my medications or bad food, do I squeeze it(them) due to sit for too long a day.. so many worries. If everything is right, my baby should look like a little fish now. I am going to resume my yoga practice soon so that I can be calmer. Sorry to worry you so much with my nervous thoughts.
Here is our new list, and feel free to make corrections.

Hi all, it's all a bit quiet on this thread at the moment, how is everyone doing?
Me, I am fine, just feeling a bit icky most of the time, but no actual sickness. Just means I am eating a bit too often to take away the nausea feelings! Oops, I can see the pounds rolling on as we speak. Hey ho.
Lisa, Yasmina and Tammy, how's things - any news on scans or anything?
Hi to everyone else on here, and sending love and hugs to Anna.x
