July Testing...

Post by lispetite »

I test on 8th July is anyone else on their 2WW?

I had 2 4 cell embies put back one grade 3 and the other grade 2-3. My clinic said that this is very good and it is what they would expect. I am very confused after reading that some people have been told that they should be 5 cell or more.

Please enlighten me someone?

Good luck to all those July people just starting their cycles and to all the June people that still have to test.

Hi Lisa:

My name is Jackie and I had my ET done this morning. I had one embie grade 1.7 , 7 cell . I guess each clinic has their own grading. My clinic grades 1 to 4. 1 being the best. Mine was transfer day 3 which means it should be 7-8 cell.

My test date is July 10th. It sounds like you have a real good chance. Lets stay positive and it will happen no matter what grade or cell right?

I was told today that I have the stay in bed for 5 days and after that very light activities until test date. (this should be fun)

Let share our 2WW together.

July Test Day

Post by SASA »

Hi ladies, my test day is 10 July 2006.
My ET was on 24 June. I had 2 X 4 cells embries put in.
My clinic always schedules test days more then 14 days after ET. I guess that save them from handling many patients emotions because by then patients with -ve result may have already had AF.
Last time when I had my test day for IVF, I had AF the night before the test day. So I was sort of emotionally prepared for the -ve result.
I have no objection for that.

I really want to rest more after ET this time. I believe that that would increase the chance of success.
After ET on saturday, I tried to stay at home as much as I could. I did went out twice, one on Sunday evening for dinner with DH and one Monday morning for meeting with client. I need to start work on Thursday. Hope by then the embries have already started the implantation process.

Good luck to all in our 2ww! :) sasa

Hi Sasa:

Wow we have the same test date! My ET was on the 24th.

I kind of knew that you have to rest but I didn't think 5 days of bedrest (bathroom only) and also after 5 days they still dont want me to do much. I dont know may be I am real old (41.9) and they dont want to take a chance. who knows.

Well I hope it works for all three of us. You should try to take it real easy too, it can't hurt.

Regards,

Hey ladies,

I'm in the July 2ww period too! How coo, I thought I would be all by myself.

Well, I've met Jackie A and she knows a little history (hey Jackie!!)

This is my first IVF with ICSI. I have terrible PCOS. I did the ET this morning. We transferred one 8 cell with no fragments, one 8 cell with a small amount of fragments, and one 7 cell with no fragments. I'm excited but cautious as my specialist said I have the worst case of PCOS that he has ever seen. We have 2 embies frozen and my test date is July 10th.....one day before my birthday!!! Can you believe it?!

But we are all going to remain positive because we only need one embie to snuggle down for the long ride :D . I'm really feeling good about this ( or maybe it is the Xanax they gave me to relax my uterus).

Best wishes to everyone!!!

Another July Tester

Hi All! I'm looking forward to seeing how you're doing and sending positive thoughts your way.

My ET is tomorrow - don't know the "score" of my embies yet but I told them to just use the cutest ones and freeze the rest. :) I think we'll have 5 frozen so that will give us more chances if we need them. I'm all ready bed-resting it because of fluid in ovaries from the EC/slight hyperstim but they seem pretty focused on moving forward with ET tomorrow and I'm not complaining. They've prepared me for 5 days bedrest then limited activity too, and I'm 34 so I don't think it's just your age Jackie A. There seems to be a lot of variation between clinics etc. I feel so luckily I can be flexible with work so that takes some of the pressure off.

BTW we're doing IVF w/ICSI...boy what a process, just amazing! Look forward to sharing this 2ww with you, even though I'm a bit behind.

Take care, Racquel

Hey Keisha:

Wow the embies sound great. I have a real good feeling for you too. Are you resting? Do you have to go to work?

I have been so bored since yesterday I am not use to just laying around doing nothing. My dh wont let me get off the couch. He keeps reminding me of the Dr's orders.

I am glad you joined us here. So hopefully we can all comapre notes. So far I don't feel anything. no cramp no pain. I think is way to early anyways.

Best Wishes for all July Ladies!

Hey Ladies,

How is everyone doing? This maybe my only post until DH comes home. He is placing me on the first floor with strict restrictions not to come up to the computer :( !!

Luckily I don't have to be back to work until next Thursday. My boss is pretty cool but she said she would leave all the hard accounts to me ...sweet huh?

I am feeling some mild cramping in my lower tummy and pelvis. I called the dr and he said that should be normal for one day. So, he expects a progress report today. I love that they are thorough. Did anyone else feel this cramping?

Hello all.

My test date is likely to be the 19th July. I have EC on Monday so ET will probably be Wednesday. I know I'm a little premature, but I could really do with joining a 2ww thread. I have a feeling I am going to go completely crackers!!!

Go back to rest

Post by SASA »

Hi Jackie A, thanks for sharing with me your doc's advice. It has been a long day on Thursday. I tried to walk less and slow. I will stay in bed as much as I can on Friday, Saturday & Sunday, or may be more days hopefully.

My clinic requires me to go back for an injection and a blood test on Friday which is the 7th day after ET.
:?: I wonder if any other IVF/ICSI/FET buddies are thus required. :?:

Good luck to all of us here in our 2ww. Rest and smile more!

Hey Ladies,

SASA - my doctor has me scheduled for a progesterone and estradol (SP) and injection on my July 3rd visit. They say it is to check if they need to up the dosage. I'm glad because I have a ton of questions!

WELCOME CORINNA AND RACQUEL!!!

Lisa - I was totally confused about this grading system too!!! But at the end of the day it really doesn't matter. I've read that some women with perfect embies did not get a BFP and some with less cells get the BFP. So, I'm not putting much stock into it...just praying really hard!

Well hubby is snatching up the laptop and sending me downstairs...take care ladies!

ET went well

Post by racquel »

Hi all, Had the ET yesterday. We had 6 grade-A 8 cell embies and 1 grade-B 4 cell, they put back 2 of the grade-A's and froze the rest. (Sounds like we're talking about chicken eggs!!) Got to see the ones they put back through a microscope and watch on the sono while they transferred them in, it was so cool!

Had a rough night last night, ovaries still swollen and sore, have cramping (which I hear is normal) and for the first time, had a lot of pain following progesterone shot. Not at the injection spot but deep in my muscle, guess we didn't rub it in enough. I so wish I had gotten up and taken Tylenol or something in the middle of the night, ended up tossing and turning and was a miserable wreck this am. DH brought me pain meds, egg, waffles (dont get too excited was the frozen pop-up kind, haha) and tea and then I started feeling human again. Boy my bottom is sore though! Ahhh it will all be worth it....

saw some ?'s about schedules and dr orders - here's what I got from mine:

- stay in bed (not flat on back but limited activity, not too long on feet) until 7/3, when I go in for bloodwork to check estradial and progesterone levels.
- they "demanded" I shower daily to help feel refreshed ... I wondered if they were sending me a message that I need better hygeine, haha
- Pregger tests scheduled 7/10, 12 and 17. If +ive they'll schedule sono from there.

I thought the "bedrest" would be blissful (yeah right what was I smoking?) but since I'm already on day 5 since had trouble with EC I'm already sick of it, getting cabin fever. Sent SOS call out to my local friends and now they're coming by to visit so hope that will help. Don't think they get how big of a deal this is -- but how could they??

Hope you're all feeling well and not going too crazy - looking forward to more chats later. (I hear DH coming, better slither back to the couch!)

Hi Ladies:

How is everybody doing? I can't beleive how time is going by so slowly. Anybody with any symptoms yet? I had my ET on Tuesday 6/27. The first two days I really didn't feel anything but yesterday (Thursday) I had cramps all day but not much today. Oh yea and I am real sore from the progestrone shots. I can't believe I still have to get the injections still for at least another 10 days. I think I maybe able to handle the shots better if I knew for sure I am pregnant.

I have been on bedrest since ET. My dh will not let me get up at all he even gets mad at me if I get up to go to the kitchen. I can't wait until 7/10/06.

HUGS and KISSES to everyone.

Getting Better!

Post by racquel »

Hi all, had a really rough day yesterday but, knock on wood, the worst seems to have passed. Not only did my ovaries feel like they were going to burst, but I had lots of cramping (especially on the left side). I could not sleep or get comfortable, it just hurt! At the worst of it I was bawling, just wishing it would all go away and at point BFP didn't seem quite worth it. BUT, it did pass, I feel much now.

Today I've been eating tons, keep getting these flashes of yummy food I must have. Gooey chocolate chip cookies! Lasagna! Crunchy peppers! Apples! I just never ends ... and alas I'm staring to have very foul gas like I did with first pregnancy. But am sure the food thing is all in my head (and my growing belly), and has nothing to do whatsoever with those little embies.

How are you all feeling? Am I the only baby who's been writhing around on the bed in pain? Anyone reading a good book or watching any fun movies??? :P take care!
