Tanya, yes, I went to the Rochester Hills IVF of MI office. Dr. Abuzeid was my doctor. Feel free to contact me directly (PM or email) about any questions you have. I had a very positive experience with their office. Not just because of my positive results, but I was happy with everything during the process also.

Hello amazing women
Thank you so much for your comments and for your information. Sara I am so happy for you and your positive result! That is so great. It looks like I will be going in for EC on 6/19. It is coming up so fast.
You are right it does feel like I am alone at times but it is so good to know that you guys are in the same boat and wishing for the same thing.
Kristi-Dr. Abuzeid did my HSG and I am going to the Flint office for all of my blood work and U/S and he will be doing them. It is so good to know that you had a good experience and a BFP. I am sure hoping for one because our only problem is that DH had a vas. I hope it works. He gave us good odds so I hope that he was right.
I love hearing about all of the stories. Very inspiring!
take care
Tanya

Tanya, so you see Dr. Abuzeid too, huh? I met a lady in Target last week. She had infant twins so I struck up a conversation with her. She also went to Dr. Abuzeid and it was her first IVF and she got pregnant with twins like I did. She also had a good experience with their office (and not just because of the positive result). Good luck to you!!

Hello!
I see Dr. Shamma in Ypsilanti. He is really wonderful. I will be seeing Dr. Abuzeid this coming week for my baseline u/s and b/w. It is easier for me to get to Flint and then go to Rochester for my EC and ET....I am so excited to hear about it. I used to work in Brighton on old us 23. That is so exciting about the girl from Target with the twins! Thank you so much for sharing.I am so excited my transfer will be around the end of June. I cant wait. What did you say was your reason for IF??? Mine is that dh has had a vas in the past so I am hoping that all will be good. Textbook case.

Tanya, yep, I've heard of Dr. Shamma too. It's sounds like all of the docs at IVF Michigan are good and depending on who works on the days you have your procedures, is who you get to see. Abuzeid was in the office during every procedure except my 8 week ultrasound when I saw one of the other docs (don't remember who though).
What a small world that you used to work right around here.
My reason for infertility is primarily my endometreosis, although between 3 different doctors over the years, none of them have thought it was too serious. I've had 2 laparoscopies. IUI's never worked for me. So I was amazed that IVF worked so well on the first time.
You are in for a journey over the next month! Feel free to ask me anything as you go. I kept a journal of almost everyday of the process so I remember all my numbers, how I felt, what the procedures were like, etc.

Im sure I will be asking you things when I start to get my numbers. I go tomorrow to the Flint office with Dr. A to have my baseline u/s and b/w done. I am so excited. I am looking forward to the days to come to see what it is like. I have read so many wonderful stories and I am so excited to have a story all my own. Thank you for opening your life to me as I embark on this journey!

Well I went in and had the EC yesterday (monday) and we were so blessed to be able to find 6 sperms in dh teste so that is a great thing too. All six fertilized and I have to wait until Friday to get them put back in and I am looking forward to it. Everything went well with my procedure as well as DH's PESA. I had Dr. Ashraf do the procedure and Dr. Shamma will put them back in. I am looking forward to hearing but the nurse said that they do not look at them every day as they do not want to disturb them. Im like fine cant you put a camera in there like a day care or something and let me watch? LOL i cant stand that wait. I will be having beta on July 3! A few days earlier than the standard 14....I will keep you posted.

Im really glad I have prepared myself by reading all these stories as it appears that even producing enough eggs to get one transferred fertilised and one or 2 for future frozen use is incredibly hard - is this the case - is it really rare to get enough to take or to transfer and that means I have to try year after year in order to conceive? Having had 3 IUIs in the space of 6 months I thought IVF was going to be similar but I guess its much harder - is their an average length of time it can take or does it depend on what is wrong with you? My husband is (thank god) above average in everything - quantity, motility, etc - I have the mildest form of endometriosis as diagnosed by laparsopy and I know by many peoples standards have not been trying long - 3 years but now aged 38 in October so going for first IVF in September - dr. appointment in aug. to get all the facts but knowing him he will only tell me "what I need to hear" so any advice on all this gratefully received please
That time that you have to wait until your August appt. will go by so much quicker than you think---so much quicker than the time goes when it all starts!! I waited from November until January just to get a consultation, then from January to June to start a cycle!!!
I've never done an IUI [husband did have prob-way low sperm--too low to try IUI--I had nothing wrong] so I hope this helps--
First in In-vitro, I went through a whole bunch of tests to rule out any probs with me--but it sounds like you've already pinpointed the prob that needs to be dealt with.
Then when the cycle actually started I called with AF [Aunt Flo--period] and started some birth control pills, then Lupron shots. I know a lot of girls, especially not in US start meds, and then get AF....that it was it seems like by their posts anyway..I got AF, then started meds.
After the Lupron shut down my system so that the docs could be in control of it, I started stimulation medication. Now I go in everyother day to check my hormone levels and check how many follicles are growing.
When they are ready, they will retrieve them, fertilize them, then put them back in--and then you WAIT!!
Anything could go "wrong" at any part of the cycle, but if you read the different threads you will find incredible stories and realize that it goes pretty well most of the time [everyone has ups and downs and scares--but this forum helps get them through it]. THere are several ladies that sound similar to your case.
I don't know if you already knew all this, or if this is what you meant by info. Just trying to help. I had a million questions in the beginning too. I bought the book, A COUPLE'S GUIDE TO IN-VITRO FERTILIZATION: EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW TO MAXIMIZE YOUR CHANCES OF SUCCESS and it had loads of info!! Found a copy on E-Bay!!!
