Thank you all so much for the replies.

Kabillion..
Thankyou for going to so much trouble about hydrosalpinges. Basically when we started ttc and found we had probs. we tried chlomid, this involved a stage where they had to sacn my ovaries to check how the eggs were doing. After a few attempts they spotted that I had a cyst about the size of an orange on one side and they monitored it. Then they did a laporoscopy an discovered I had really damaged tubes with scar tissue which meant that the natural fluid couldn't run freely, thus building up to cause cysts. this is basically what hydro salpinges is - hydro being water / fluid and salpinges something to do with tubes. So they operated again and cut away all the sacr tissue and freed up my tubes. I was told then that it may come back as surgery can often lead to scar tissue anyway. I have had 5 ivf attempts since then and nobody has picked it up again. I swopped hospitals on my 5th go and there was only a small sign of it, nothing to worry about .This 6th go I was told on ec it had come back really bad but we may aswell go ahead with transfer and see what happens. He said if it didn't work he may consider surgery but was a bit reluctant as I had already had surgery on it. I am convinced he will suggest surgery now as we had such perfect embies. They even told us one was text book perfect.
I appreciate the idea to change doctors but am going to stick here for now as I do have a lot of faith in him as with 3 other hospitals over the last 8 years none of them have been able to get through my cervix and this doctor did it in less than 5 mins and I didn't feel a thing. So he has proved to be amazing so far. I will however push the issue more about the tubes.
I hope your wife is ok and that this info helps. I would have thought if she had it, it would have been picked up by scan. Also before the first surgery I was in a lot of pain and somedays couldn't even walk !

Good luck everyone else. Especially lispetite who tests tomorrow x

Thanks for replying Leanne! Again I am very sorry to hear about your BFN result.

Ad far as hydrosalpinges go, do you think that mosty clinics DO screen for this type of thing? The reason I ask is because my wife had an ectopic pregancy about 10 years ago - is this the same situation as hydrosalpinges?

We were not alerted to any such condition - or possibility thereof - and I am slightly alarmed at the possibility that it was missed.

Great news Jess :D

Leanne I'm so so sorry. With regard to your question on the tubes. I was sterilised 3 years ago, they removed my tubes and yes you still get periods and still produce eggs. Is that what you were asking or have I completed misunderstood??!!

My heart goes out to you.

LISA,
Congrats to you!!!!! I am very happy you got a BFP! You must be thrilled! The beta test is the hcg level the pregnancy blood test that you should have at your clinic. And then they usually do a 2nd test 2 days later to be sure your preg. level is doubling.
Take it easy and keep us posted! :D :D

hi everyone,

i am new here and just found out about this board today. really excited to be here. :D

today is my 3dp5dt with second first fresh ivf cycle. my first cycle was cancelled due to moderate OHSS. we had 2 frozen blasts and had FET back in december. turned out it was negative and now here i am at my 2ww at our second attempt.

i had spent all day on the couch on the first day and only got up to go to the bathroom. yesterday and today, probably about 90% on the couch. i i did have mild OHSS this time around that started on the third or fourth day, so doc had me on a really low salt diet. but i was drinking 2ltr of gatorade all through out. today, i think i'm pretty much back to normal. not sure it is a good or bad thing since i hear that OHSS tends to get worst if one gets pregnant. well, at least now, i am feeling so much better.

my testing date is on july 15. jess, go ahead and add me if you like.

thank you for the support.

Hi JT:

Welcome. We are happy to have you here. This is a great board, lots of supports from wonderful ladies.

If you don't mind me asking how many embryos did you have transfer?

Again welcome and look forward to seeing your BFP.
