Hi ladies! I am back from a long 4th of July weekend.

Mel - congrats on feeling the baby kick! What a b-day present! I felt my first "flutter" on Father's day (june 18) - but haven't felt much in the way of movement yet. I guess it's still a bit early. Have had bad gas pains for a week or so now - some say that could actually be movement I am experiencing. Nothing has changed in my diet so I can't imagine what else is causing it.

Kristi - God I love Vegas! I was just out there in January (I go all of the time) and the weather was in the 70's. I have been out there in late June before and it was in the 100s and all of the hotels had the misters going outside the entrances - nothing like that desert heat!! Hope you had a good time! Surprised to hear you are getting contractions - I bet it is due to the whole twin thing. My sis is pg with her second - and her doc told her she will get Braxton Hicks earlier this time - probably around 30-32 weeks. I guess it means your body is getting ready for the big day!

Traci - I will try the vaseline trick for my headaches. My doctor told me to go ahead and take ibuprofen when my headaches get excrutiating so I took 2 Motrin and felt like a new woman! It was amazing! The prescription migraine meds and Tylenol did nothing! I did take sinus meds once and they didn't help either. I really hate taking anything since I am pregnant - but these headaches have been so bad that I really had no choice if I wanted to go about my day. Thanks for the tip - and I am glad to hear yours are getting better!

Well 6 more days until my next appt. No scan this time - but I get to hear the heartbeat! I am curious to see what the heartrate is b/c of the old wives tale about the boy/girl thing. It has been in the 140s so far. I am still feeling it could be a girl, but a month ago I was sure it was a boy - so who knows - lol.

And for the girls who are shopping - how are we supposed to stop?? I feel like I buy something any time I am in a store for any reason. If I see a baby item - I buy it! I have just been wanting to buy for so long and now I can. My dh was laughing at me over the weekend b/c we have a half a room full of stuff and the kid isn't even here yet!! Oh well - I just can't help myself :) .

Hope everyone is fat and happy!! Will chat with you all later!

So it seems as though the theory about girls being a little less active may be accurate...for the most part! Although some of you have said that your girl is a mover and a shaker :D

Las Vegas! We went for our 'babymoon' there last month - our first time and had a blast! Yes, the weather was unbelievably hot - 107 during the day and the night didn't feel much cooler. How fun though!!! We'd love to go again and see more of the town - we only got to see half of the strip because my ankles were swelling like crazy in that heat.

I haven't felt any braxton hicks yet either but I have been feeling alot of pressure on my pubic bone after sitting for an hour or so. Anyone else feeling this?? I see my dr for my monthly checkup tomorrow so I'll ask him if this is normal or what is going on??!!

Mel - how exciting to feel a kick on your birthday!! At my scan the doc said the same thing to me - that the placenta was in the way which is why I probably wasn't feeling anything....especially cos on the scan she was moving around a lot. Although, since then, I have felt things, but not very frequently.

Yesterday, I felt this weird feeling in my stomach, so I looked down to see it was a weird shape! This happened during the u/s sound b/c she was pushing against me & sticking her bum out. But I could feel (and sort of see) it pushing, so i pushed back, and she pushed back too! I don't know if it was her hands, feet, bum, but there was a definite interaction there! I haven't felt anything since, which I hate b/c I am addicted to it and worry when it is too infrequent.

So - how often does everyone feel the little one move?

Kristi - I have heard of Braxton Hicks, but didn't realise it could start so early. How strange - good to know though, so I don't go into a panic that I'm going into early labour if I feel a contraction!

Bella, isn't that "interaction" a cool feeling? For the past 2 nights I've felt that way with one of the babies. It's such an amazing feeling. Mine are kicking very regularly throughout the entire day...and more so at night. That's probablay because there's 2 of them in there so there's less room so I feel them more.

Lisa, I can relate to buying something everytime I stop at a store...and having a room half full of bags of baby stuff already! Don't stop! Enjoy and keep shopping!!

Hi girls- my sono is scheduled for July 15. We heard the heartbeat again for the second time. It was 157, down from the first time of 166. I cannot wait to see the sonogram and see what is growing inside of me.
We are not going to find out, unless it is really obvious!!!
I feel great. Hope everyone else does too. I hiked 15miles in Yellowstone last week. I cannot belive how much energy I have.
Do ya'll have tons of energy also?

Heather - I am so jealous! 15 miles!!! I walk from my house to a beach probably around 3km away and back almost every day, which is quite a steep, hilly walk. But I do find I am out of breath a lot at times, and it's getting harder on my legs each time. You sound super fit - giving birth should be no problem for you :D ;-)

I also admire your strength to not find out the sex...so hard to do! But, according the the old wives tales, the high heart rate might indicate a girl (it was true for me!). I've updated the list below.

Kristi - it is soo cool, you're right. I wish she would play with me every day!

I had another appointment today with the midwives, and heard her heartbeat again. So despite not feeling her move really for the last 2 days, she is fine. So now I am going to make a vow to all of you that I will not panic anymore!!! (but I resenrve the right to panic to you guys if I change my mind ;-) )

Tracii - amnio 14 June, results on 16 June Gut feeling = GIRL!, & it is a GIRL!!!!
Julie - June - 21 wk scan kei te pai - sex a suprise!
KristiA - june 22 - gut feel was boy/girl = turned out to be 2 boys!
Mel P - june 23rd (sex tbc .... reckon its a GIRL!) - it's a GIRL!!
Bella - June 29 (big feeling it's a BOY) And it's a ... GIRL!!!!
Sue - 3rd July scan went well (will be keeping it a surprise)
Ahart - 11th July (Twins ....)
Heather14 - 15th July (keeping it a surprise) gut feeling= BOY
Jamato - 13th July, gut feeling = BOY
LisaB – Scan TBD, gut feeling = TBD!
Terri2 – Scan TBD, gut feeling = TBD!
Libby - 22nd July, gut feeling = BOY, but trying to hold out for surprise
Danielle - 3rd August, gut feeling = BOY

15 miles? Does a walk about the store count towards my exercise? :) You know what I hate...grocery shopping! Pushing the "heavy" cart, picking up the "heavy" cases of soda or water, loading & unloading in & out of the car. Seems like many things are starting to exhaust me now too.

Bella, glad to hear your apt went well. I vowed to myself at the 20 week mark that I would quit worrying too. I'm doing pretty good. But now my mind shifts to worrying about having preemies because of the twins. I'm on a mission to accomplish EVERYTHING before I hit 30 weeks in case I have bed rest or have the babies early. Can't find any cute boy bedding though (which then sets the tone for the entire color/decoration of the baby room). Going shopping again tonight to see what I can find.

Hi girls! Heather - good for you girl! I wish I could hike 15 miles. A year ago - I probably could have but no way could I now! I have tried to stay in shape with walking on a treadmill and prenatal yoga, but I get out of breath very easily. I hate it because I am used to feeling very energetic. Oh well - all I can do is try to stay in shape now, then I'll worry about being back in top form after the baby is born.

Kristi - I feel like you do. I just went grocery shopping two days ago and everything felt like such a chore! I can only imagine how hard it is with two babies instead of one!

Well I think my headaches are finally getting better. Now I have all kinds of sharp aches and pains "down there". They are not anything big - just round ligament pain I am sure. All of the info I have says that, at 16 weeks, the baby and I both will be going through a bit of growth spurt. I know my maternity pants I wore comfortably last week are a little snug today - oh well ! :D

I am having a short day today - am going to meet dh at the lake for a little boating trip. Need to take advantage since it actually quit storming for a few days.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!

Hi Lisa

I'm 15 weeks today and am still getting headaches! I'm also getting similar aches and pains.
I get pains which actually feel like stretching as well! My midwife said something like this........'your uterus is moving fowards now and the fallopian tubes and ovaries are trying to stay where they are and don't want to go with it!'
I told my dh and he thought that was hilarious. He sat there with his arms in the air pretending they were fallopian tubes going 'no no I don't want to go'

I'm still very tired and also get out of breath. Is everyone tired at this stage? I thought it might be wearing off now?!

Hi All...I still have lots of energy except at night..I just want to go to bed at 8pm! And don't want to cook or do anything.....poor DH. We went to the big scan on Thursday. She is doing very, very well...everything is working perfectly..it was a very detailed scan looking at all the major organs and making sure blood, fluid ect.. is going where it should. We got to see her face as well!! We have a 4d photo...I can't stop looking at it..strange to think this little person is going to be turning our world upside down in a couple of months!...to be honest sometimes I feel like I am dreaming and still can't believe I am pregnant.

Tracii, I feel the same way. Sometimes everything around me stops, I sit quietly and it hits me like a ton of bricks...I'm pregnant!!??!! Tears come to my eyes and I just sit there in awe...so hard to believe. I'm making sure I enjoy every day of this pregnancy! Hey, I noticed that your & your DH are about the same ages as us. Since he's 48 will this be your first and/or last baby? It is for us...DH just turned 48 not too. It makes it extra special for me knowing it's my first & last.

Hi Ladies!

I have been away for so long and have really missed this site. I've tried to keep up on the posts. Sounds like everyone is doind really well. I'm happy to say I'm successfully off bed rest for a few weeks, but really tired. No yellowstone hikes for me!! Wow, that's really impressive.

Found out last week that we are having a girl!!! Gut instict was boy (I think...never really got over shock of being pregnant so long to form a good gut instict!)

I just read in the on line calendar that we should be looking into birthing classes. This shocked both my husband and me. Aren't we just going to enjoy being pregnant for a few years?? Actually getting to hold a baby too is such a miracle it's hard to fathom!

Kristi, your shpping has inspired me. I've only bought one shirt for Father's Day that says"my dad rules". I'm clearly quite behind and will do my best to catch up!

I'm so happy to see everyone on the list and was wondering if anyone heard again from Eminde? I haven't seen a post for ages.

(Glad to see I'm not the only belly-kick-addict...Could sit for hours waiting for one kick!)

xoxo

Daly, so glad to hear from you again!!! I'm glad you are doing well. I forgot that you had bed rest for awhile. Yes, shopping, kicking, all of it is great, isn't it? Congrats on having a girl! No, I haven't seem anything from Eminde. I think about her often too because she got her BFP about the same time as us & had twins also. Hopefully she is doing well too.

Welcome back Daly!! :D :D

KristiA - Yes this is our first and last child..DH will be 49  in August and me turning 37 in August as well...if something should "happen"in the future..hey that is great (may also adopt overseas in the near future)..but I am so happy to have our little one..she will be very spoiled...but my DH is an only child too and he turned out pretty good :D You are so lucky to have the twins!! How is your DH holding up with becoming a Dad? Mine still can not fathom it..but I am sure it will hit in November :D

How is everyone doing? Today it is super hot here in Vienna and I am literally sitting in a t-shirt and undies...very chic :D Baby is really kicking up a storm and I thought I felt her flip yesterday. I didn't sleep well at all last night..just couldn't get comfortable. My body pillow finally arrived but it takes up like half the bed..so need to figure out how to use it better.
