Bright Red Bleed -- Scared beyond belief

Post by mariab1976 »

Okay, I've read hundreds of post like this. But truthfully it never hits home until it happens to you.

At 8:00 this morning I felt kinda wet, so stopped by bathroom for a TP check. And didn't need the TP. There was a quarter size spot in the undies. After peeing for a second I wipe and there is bright red blood. Heart starts a hundred miles a minute. WTF?

My clinic does open until 8:30. SO ... after 30 agonizing minutes of watching the clock I call. And no one is at the desk so I have to leave a message for my doctor's nurse. It's been an hour...and I am still waiting to hear back....

I am scared out of my mind. :( :( I want to tell my hubby but don't want to worry him if it's nothing...besides what can he do from work but worry like me?

Forgot to add that I am exactly 6wk today.

Maria,

I'm sorry to hear you're news and can only reiterate that so many girls bleed in early pregnancy and everything turns out fine. If you don't hear back soon, ring again. And again!! And again!!

Hope everything turns out fine and sending positive vibes from across the water!

I had the same thing....bright red blood...enough to soak through all my clothes and make a huge mess. It happened two times to me. After the "gush", then the bleeding stopped. I was alittle further along...11 weeks. My doc said the signs of trouble are if you have cramps or blood clots. Other than that he gave me several reasons for why we bleed.

I understand though...it scared the crap out of me too. My doc had me come in to check me. He said it looked like the bleeding was just coming from my cervix, which was "no big deal". Still, I put myself on 4 days of bed rest just to ease my mind.

Keep calling the doc and try to have them see you so that you can ease your mind.

Maria,

I hope by now you have received some reassurance from your clinic - the exact same thing happened to me at 6 1/2 weeks. It was bright red and had two clots in it - and there was bright pink on the TP when I wiped for about 2 hours afterward. I freaked. When I got in the next day for an emergency u/s - I was reassured to see the little heartbeat! There are several possibilities as to why you could be bleeding. You didn't mention any pain or cramping so I am assuming you don't have any? I didn't either - and that is a GOOD sign! I had two grade 1 embies transferred and had very high HCG levels in the beginning - so i personally feel that I could have lost a twin - but I will never know. I have one perfectly healthy baby growing now and that is all that matters.

Also - I know you don't want to worry your dh, but you need him right now. You should call him so he can help you get through it - help you feel better about everything. I was so panicked when I bled , I don't know how I got thru it without my dh.

I am sure you are fine - make sure you post and let us know how everything turned out -ok? I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Maria,

Hope you are feeling a bit better now and things have settled down. I agree - phone your husband - you need support and he would want to be there for you.

It is a scary thing to happen. With my wee boy, I had fresh blood, old blood, clots, pain and cramps and it turned out to be fine in the end. He was great, but I was a complete wreck!

Try and take it easy and I hope you get some answers soon

Well, I saw the doctor. They did an ultrasound and could not come up with a reason for the bleeding. They said it looks good. :?

On the plus side, if there is a plus side to bleeding, I saw heartbeats... :D

Two really strong heartbeats. Both look really good. One measuring slightly bigger than the other but was told that this is normal. (great, one more thing for me to obsess over.)

Unfortunenately not over

Post by mariab1976 »

Unfortuneately it's not over about nine oclock this evening had another red bleed. I think I need to be off my feet and so I plan to spend the rest of the evening lying in bed. Not to mention, staying off my feet as much as possible for the next two days.

Thank god its the weekend. :D

That's exactly what I did too, Maria when it happened to me. It sounds like your bleeding is very similar to mine. It comes & goes. It only happened to me twice. Hopefully that's it for you too. I laid on the couch for 4 days after that. Good job resting this weekend. It will make you feel better about everything! Welcome to the twins club!! How exciting!!

Maria,

I am also 6 weeks 4 days pregnant. I bleed almost every other day. Sometimes it comes with major cramps and have a lot of bleeding. When they did my U/S last week they found 2 heartbeats and 2 sacs. One sac was bigger then the other. The dr felt there may be 2 babies in one sac and one in the other. But couldnt tell much. We go in for another U/S on the 19th of July and will know then hopefully. For me I am on complete bed rest, my mom is here pampering me. All I do is go to the loo. But I agree with you the bleeding can be very scarry. Like our dr said you are still not out of the woods till your 12 weeks is over.

Do you have any morning sicknesses. I am dying with them. I have them all day.

Stay positive and get as much rest as you can.

Still here

Post by mariab1976 »

I bleed Saturday and Sunday. Both days started out bright red on the TP then a small pool in the camode on Saturday.

Not to mention that although it started to slack off on Friday and Saturday evenings it turned bright red again after the PIO shot. I am thinking my cervix my be irritated from too many hormones.

But no real cramping. Just the normal growing pains. I am sitting here at work--wishing I could be at home on bedrest. But my clinic is more just monitoring me right now...

I am going to call them this morning and just update them on where I am -- I seriously think its the damn PIO shots that are doing it. But I know they won't switch me to the gel.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Doing good

Post by mariab1976 »

Yesterday was my first full day with no spotting at all. ( Didn't stop me from visiting the bathroom every 15 minutes  )

Just praying every minute that my two little cuties stay put and grow like the wind. Exactly two more weeks to my final scan with the RE. :D I wonder if I should book a visit with my OB that same day.... Gotta get him on board asap... I mean if I have another scare I want him right there with me ordering the U/S. Too much to think about. :x

If I can make it past these next two weeks I can do anything.

How's everyone else doing?

maria

My thoughts are with you as I know how agonising it is. I have been clear for 4 or 5 weeks but before that I would have done anything for spotting to stop. You tell yourself not to worry and its normal for you , but when it happens its just not nice and you just want it to stop.

keep in touch
