Hi All

Carolyn - I just felt like adding my two penneth - I would definately have the surgery (providing I had the money for that and more IVF). When I first went to Hammers I was hoping to have my tubes unblocked but after lap was told that there was very little point as they were so badly blocked and that I would be better off just doing IVF. I was absolutely gutted as I wasn't keen on doing IVF for oestrogen reasons.

I think that having the possibility that it could happen naturally every month (even just for a year of so) would be SO fantastic and as you say you can still be doing IVF as well after a short time.

You can use your month off being super healthy to prepare for any impending IVF treatment whilst also relaxing and trying it naturally. It will probably give you a little time to relax mentally as well - all very important according to Zita - as I'm sure you know!

Lola - yes how did your final exams go? Must have been hellish as you've been off for a while - no doubt recovering! Hope your okay. What will you be once you have passed these?

Love Vicky

hola smiths!

Carolyn - go for it, laydee! Hope you didn't get wrong impression from my last post, what I meant was I 'd still have ivf but I would also have the tubes rejigged for maximal super duper au natural up dufferism. Its all about upping the odds.
Well, was supposed to have a scan on monday but they cancelled it so having it this monday - have a look see at evil fallop and Lake Hydro a la Pinx. That'll decide next step.
Thanks for asking about the exam. The clinicals were a bit dicey but the vivas were good. Next hurdle is getting the results.... thats not an envelope I'll be wanting to open without a few vodkas inside.
Am busy planning holiday in France - any tips on finding a villa? I'm looking at the Chez Nous website. After holiday will then tackle Operation: house purchase. Man! It so good to have finished the exams and have a life back - I'm drinking cava like its a wedding or something, it gets to 5 o'clock and this quiet chant starts in my head "Fizzy wine! Fizzy Wine!" I must obey the chant!!!
Anyhoo, hope you're all ok and enjoying the fantastic weather. I'm off to open a bottle.
Love, Lola

Lola - Great to have you back. Sounds like the exams went about as well as you could have hoped for. You sound mad mad busy. Do you know how to sit still!!!!????

Did not get the wrong impression at all from your last post - just waying up all the odds. Cannot confess to knowing much re-villas in France but sure that you'll have a blast whereever you go. Where abouts are you looking for a house? The cava sounds like it is slipping down a treat! I am sure that the supermarkets will be ordering extra stocks in at this rate

Good luck for the scan on Monday and look out for the pictures of our friend Liz with the graffiti

Vicky - thank you for your two pennies worth - you & Lola are right - I should get the op done - stop being a coward and then get back to the good old fashioned way of trying to have a baby - certainly know one person who will be happy with this outcome.

Now that I can get 4 weeks sick leave, I will certainly get op done. That will help pay for op and we would still be able to pay for a couple more goes at ivf so we are v lucky that we do not have the real financial headaches as well. Just don;t want to be ancient (any more ancient) before this happens for me. Guess that I really should just be hoping that it does happen for me and both of you.

Vicky - when do you get going again?

Hope that you are both having a good weekend. I'm in the office as Interim reporting chaos. But at least I only haveanother 4 weeks to ensure. YIPPEEEE

Take care my buddies

Ladies

Just had to drop in as noticed that we were the last thread on page 1.

So this is really just a 'save' so we keep our thread going for a while longer.

Lola - hope that you are still drowning in fizzy wine

Vicki - you must be getting going soon

Not much to report from me. Acu again last night. He will help me recover from op and try to get me back on track afterwards. AF just about to arrive. Joy. But at least seems to be on time and not mucked up by lap which was a concern as I bled for nearly a week after the op. Op less than 4 weeks away..............

Take good care ladies.

Lola

Have to fess up to taking a look on Octoberonies thread and I saw your news.

CONGRATULATIONS on passing all if your exams. That is great news - what a brain box you must be.

I don't blame you going out to get utterly hammered. You sure deserve it.

Saw also that the scan may not have been great due to the tube fluid and that you may be taking some time away from the boards. Have a great holiday.

Take good care. And well done again.

Hola!

Thanks Carolyn - I still can't believe it! I honestly feel like a changed woman since I got the results, like I've properly got my life back.
So how're you? Not long before tubal surgery....
Hope you're surviving the london humid death grip?
How're the other hammerians?

I saw Mcfertile on tuesday to get the results of my scan. My hydrosalpinx is bigger than the rest of my body, it is the size of the moon. So its tubal surgery for me too. I will be fallop-less by the middle of september! The evil -pinxes will be no more! Hopefully that'll give my next fet better odds and less chance of another ectopic. As you can see I'm focusing on the positive and not on the fact that this is my thrid lot of surgery on those darn tubes and this puts back my next ivf. The whole trip seems endless.
Anyhoo, I'm off work now for 2 weeks to parade my new optimism around france and empty a few cellars

take care all
love, Lola

Lola

Hope that you are having a fab holiday. You certainly derserve after all the surgery-drugs and study. Hope that you have found some nice cellars and been knocking back the vino.

Do you have a date yet for your op? It is rough that you have to have another op but at least then the tubes will be out of the way and so as you say that should really help the chances for your FET.

Check in when you get a moment!

Vicki

Glad that you had a fab holiday. Your tmt seems like it came round quickly - although sure that it has dragged for you!

Hope that stimmies are going ok and that the follie fairy is casting her spell. Let us know how your scan goes. Seems like ages since I was making those trips. Guess it is 4 months ago.

Fingers crossed that your tmt is going to go well.

Keep us posted.

So was mad busy at work up til last Wednesday when we announced our half year results. Went rather well for a change. Lots of parties through the end of last week including my leaving drinks. Now just 5 days off handover to the new guy to endure. 2 down, 3 to go. Then I am on sabbatical. YIPPPEEEEE

Bit scared about op on Monday. Certainly now just want to get it out of the way. I so hope that he can clear out the rubbish and join me back up. If he can manage that then it has to be worth the pain.

Sure that I'll check in over the weekend before I go on Monday. They expect me to be in hospital for around 4 days so will then be out of contact for most of next week I'm afraid.

Thinking of you both

Great news.

Handover all done so now I can just worry about Monday. Sometimes the waiting is the worst part.

I just hope that he will be able to re-connect me.

Good Luck for EC on Tuesday. I shall send you positive vibes from Sainsbury wing down to Wolfson Clinic!!!

Expect to not be back posting until Thursday/Friday of next week.

I shall be thinking of you & hoping that they look after both of us.
