Hi Krista,

Do I want to be added? LOL. I laugh because I am just back from the midwife to check and hear the heartbeat for the first time. I have been such a wreck with this pregnancy and the spotting although I've been through it all before... I was convinced I would hear nothing today and have slept very little as a result. So, I have asked to be added no where - not even the due date thread :( THAT STOPS NOW!!!!! :D My baby is fine - heard the heartbeat immediately loud and strong. WOW, I'm pregnant - it's not fat (ALL - LOL) in my tummy. Thank god or I need a serious diet.. (as if 4 scans, 1 blodd test and 4 HPT's were not enough to convince me)

Yes please, can I be added (even though technically not IVF although I am convinced getting the letter for payment was enough to do the job hee-hee)??? I am not entitled up here to another NHS scan at 20 weeks but we will pay for one in about 4 weeks so I'll let you all know. Gut reaction - another boy...

Does anyone know the old wived takes for heartrates and sex????

Zoe x

OMG, just read this back - how mental do I sound

P.S Libby/Mel - We were trying for 7 years before getting Sam. I was diagnosed at the start as stage 1 endo - not bad, but severe pain, and lots of old blood every months making toatl bleeding every cycle last 2.5 weeks out of 4 sometimes. Infertility was classed as 'unexplained', but FSH was 10.3 (although funnily enough 9.3 this Feb) and was told that basically my egg reserve was low. I never responded well to drugs - getting a handful of follicles and at the most 3 eggs (and this was only once). How this happened is a moracle
1st IVF - Easter 2002 - neg
2nd IVF - Summer 2002 - pos, but M/C 8 wks
3rd IVF Summer 2003 - pos with beautiful baby boy
April 2006 - miracles happen - positive naturally day after receiving IVF letter to start again! Another beautiful boy

Hi All,

It sure does seem like we have lots of boys on the horizon. That has been my gut feel all along, but obviously won't know for sure until "THE BIG DAY". Has anyone done the Chinese calendar to predict the sex? I'd be curious for those of you who know what you are having to see if it is correct. It did say I was having a boy. Then a lady at a baby boutique did the ring on the end of the chain thing and that said a boy... so, I must be having a girl!

CLA- Yep, I'm about ready to jump to 3rd tri too, but will stay here longer as those girls over there are so "advanced" (like post 34 weeks!)

Anyone having lots of contractions? The doc asked me yesterday and I said "um, I'm not sure what they feel like" When she went to check the heartbeat, she said "Oh, you're having one right now."  So, since I seem to be getting a lot of these, I am supposed to track them. Ok, and is this weird???... but, I notice my nipples get hard when I'm having one. She did say that there is little to be concerned with for Braxton Hicks contractions. Finally, something to NOT worry about :)

I haven't done any buying yet... I think it is easier since we don't know the sex. We do have a crib picked out... it is black. People think we are crazy but they look so nice and most of the rest of our decor is pretty modern.

Hope you all are feeling well and enjoying your lovely bumps! Stay cool in the hot weather!

Hi Julie, well we know we are having a boy in october, and i thought it was a boy from the day we found out we were pregnant, and yes the chinese predictor said i was having a boy aswell :o
With the braxton hicks, i have been feeling them since about week 19 and are a little uncomfortable, but not too bad, i have about 6 a day and my bump turns to rock, very strange, i hope My little boy dosent get squashed
Is anyone one still in denial??????
I still cant beleive it is happening to us, we feel so lucky, even when my belly is jumping around i still dont quite believe it.
We have most of the room done and i keep walking in and am still amazed that we have finally been able to have a nursery :o
Anyway enough of me going on, how is everyone on here doing???

Yes I'm still in denial.......I'm at 16 weeks today.

I just rang up to make an appointment with my osteopath and said 'better just let you know I'm 4 months pregnant'
came off the phone with a big grin on my face and said, oh my god Im 4 months pregnant' to my husband!
I still can't quite believe it.

My 20 week scan is on 11th August and I don't want to know the sex, I want a surprise! Is anyone else waiting til the birth to find out? I have no gut feeling about what it is. 99% of people think its a girl though!

Jessica - congrats on the BABY BOY!! :D

Kristi - how wonderful of your co-workers to throw you a shower! My sister brought it up with me yesterday - she said she had picked out the invitations and had a preliminary guest list going and it just didn't seem real! I have planned 6 baby showers for family/friends myself and honestly never thought I would be getting one. Like you and (i think) Terri said - it just seems weird to even say it out loud "I'm pregnant". This IS our time - and I am loving every second of it!

I know I was going to type stuff to a couple of you other gals today but my brain is fuzzy and i just can't remember what I was going to say

Plus I am at work and am surrounded by distraction right now.

Oh yeah - the Chinese Lunar Calendar says I am having a girl. That is my gut feeling - I find out on Aug 14 for sure. From what I have seen - that thing is pretty accurate. And heartrate was 161 - which the Old Wives would say means girl as well. Still most people tell me they think it's a boy. I guess we'll see!

Well I am off - have a great weekend everyone!

Congrats on the boy jessica, it does seem to be boy season all round!

Libby, sorry I got tickers mixed up with Zoe and thought it was you how had conceived naturally. Whoops  Zoe what a lovely miracle, how totally ultra xtra special that must be.

Heart beat and chinese calender tales true both for me too, though thinking about it I might have skewed my dates on chinese calender for the result to be the girl, given that technically I could choose my conception date as November last year and / or Feb when lovely little frostie came home to nest.

Hope all is well with you folks. Another week in paradise hee hee! Weather sucks big time, work is a nightmare, am12 kgs over my regular weight (heck isnt only 400g of that baby!!!!) and still totally absolutely wonderfully contented and happy as a pig in muck

Hi Girls,

I heard the heartbeat for the first time on Friday

It was over 160 I think - mind you it raised to this when my 2 year old started having a wee tantrum, so baby must have heard him the midwife said - how crazy is that :o ??

So, Am I having a boy or girl? I'm sure Sam was about that number too...and I'm convinced it's another boy.

Hope all is well...
