I am so swollen, just wondering if anyone else is this way too. Is there anything they can do for it? I am scheduled for Tues appointment but I am calling and going tomorrow. I am getting worried now. I started with carpal tunnel in both wrists and know edema. I do know it will be worth it in the end.
HI there,
I think we've chatted before re. carpal tunnel. It often goes with oedema and we often prescribe compression stockings (either below knww like long socks or full pantyhose) to improve the situation. It can also be a sign of pre-eclampasi, so do get it checked out, but if that side of things is OK, I'd ask whether you're a candidate for compression stockings. The TED (thrombolexin / white type stockings) are useless, the compression level is too low unless you are lying in bed all day and therefore have gravity assisting venous return to your heart. You need to have at least class two compression (25-35mmHg), look for brands like Jobst (they do a very nice ultra-sheer maternity pantyhose with large tummy panel) or Sigvaris, these are the two main ones I prescribe.
Good luck!!

P.S. you can't have fluid tablets when you're pregnant, it can stunt foetal growth and disguise the symptoms of pre-eclampsia, so no pharmacological intervention unfortunately!!
