2nd trimester

Post by heather14 »

Good morning or evening- We had our sonogram yesterday and it was the most amazing thing I have ever seen. The baby is healthy and everything measured up as it should. We still held out on finding out the sex eventhough it was very tempting!! Our baby weighs 9.5 ounces and 9 inches long. I can't belive that something 9 inches long is tucked inside of me!!
I am not sure what I am having now. HB was 167 but chinese cal. says boy. So who knows, I will be so surprised when he or she comes out.
Jessica congrats on the little boy!!!!

Chat with you girls later, off to get a little sun(yes I will be wearing sunscreen!! It is just too pretty today to stay inside)

Kristi - I wish I was having 6 showers. I must have had a typo in my last post - I am getting one shower as far as I know. Sorry for the goof

Well last night my sis and I threw a 60th birthday party for my Mom that had 70 people there! This was the first time most of my family has seen me since I became pregnant. You have no idea how many people came up and insisted I am having a girl because I am "wider" as opposed to women who are having boys that tend to poke out front more. Interesting to hear - although it's never fun hearing someone call me "wide" - lol!

I think my headaches have finally left - thank goodness! I feel bad for people who suffer from migraines regularly - they are miserable!

I think someone wanted to know where to find the chinese lunar calendar - try using the following link:

Lisa, glad your headaches are fading! That must be a big relief for you. Don't you love the attention you got at the b-day party? That's the fun part of being pregnant!

Well, I have a new problem, although it's not major. I had a check up this AM and my doc confirmed that I have Round Ligament Pain. It's pretty painful...my lower right side just above my pubic area. The pain occurs when I move. I'm supposed to rest and much as I can and if it doesn't go away, then they will have me wear a support brace so the brace holds up the weight instead of those ligaments under my uterus. Oh fun...!

Hope you are all doing well!!

Hi everyone,

I'm a bit late in joining the 2nd Tri... not sure if anyone remembers, but I was with a few of u ladies in the 1st Tri board (and before...)... :) I've been lurking around but haven't posted for a while... glad to hear everyone's doing well!

I'll be having my detailed (level 2) scan on 3 Aug... still don't know whether I'm having a boy or a girl... can't wait to find out! :)

Actually I have a question, I did a triple test when I was 16 wks along... and the test results showed that I had a higher than expected (1:170) chance of having a Down Syndrome baby... I was advised to do an amniocentesis.. but my placenta was not in a suitable position (on top?) to do it then, so my doctor advised me to wait until I've had the detailed scan (at 20 wks) and to wait till the baby is bigger. But having read up about amniocentesis and the risk of miscarriage, DH & I have decided that we'll not do the amnio. But in any case, I'd prefer to find out beforehand if the baby has DS so we can better prepare ourselves... does anyone know of any other non-invasive tests that could be done to find out? how detailed is the level 2 scan, will that tell us for sure?

Thanks... would be grateful for any advice... :)

Rouge: I was given 1/186 chance and DH and I decided not to do the amnio..b/c we were not going to terminate regardless. I know what you're going through...I had my detailed scan at 20 wks and everything turned out okay, of course they tell you to be 100% sure is to do an amnio...our beanies did not have a thick nucheal fold on their neck or anything...they use your age and some other factors to come up with the numbers. Our U/S doctor informed us that if you put yourself (being the 1 in the ratio) in a room of 186 pregnant woman...1 out of 186 will have a baby with downs. Pray about it and we will pray for you as well. W e cried somewhat but realized that GOD decides and if he decided to give us some or one special needs child..we would be blessed either way.
BFP 3/17, 3/29 (3 beanies (4/7/06)Babies b & c heartbeats seen..baby a didn't make it
10/1 weigh 4lbs , born 10/24/06 @5lbs 1oz each
