Hi Kelly and Lisa- Thanks for the encouragement. Lisa, it helps to hear that they only saw 7 or 8 for you too! (but got 13!)

Kelly- I talked to the nurse about the buring...she said that is very common with Menapur. She said most people feel a little buring with it. Okay....They did not change my meds at all, so they must think everything is okay too. I have my next scan tomorrow A.M.

I actually feel okay. I do get kind of tired, but that is really it. I occasionally have ovary pains, but nothing major. That caused some concern too....when I was on Clomid I would get 6 follicles and would be in horrible pain. I wondered why I didn't "feel" it as much now. I am going to go with the "softer" explaination that you offered. Sometimes it does hurt, but is only lasts for a minute or two and then it is gone. I don't know when the ER will be yet. They gave me my instruction sheet, but we didn't go over it. Maybe I will find out tomorrow? I am thinking Weds. If they want me to be on stims longer they are going to have to call in more meds. I only have enough to last me through Monday night??? (That would be 10 days)

I'll keep you posted. How are you? Ready for the baseline? Only a week until you start stims!!!!

Well, I went in for another scan and there are 5 good follies that he can see. Could more be hiding? He didn't change my meds and I go back on Monday. He said there are some littler ones that may catch up. Can I be so bold as to ask for some prayers that they catch up????? I am just worried that with only five follies we won't wind up with anything to actually transfer. I know it only takes one, but...what if they aren't all mature, or they don't all fertilize??? Please pray for me....I am feeling the stress of the IVF roller coaster! HELP!

IM,

Sorry to hear there are only 5 right now. But I know on the Ultrasound they can not see everything. But I will hope and Pray that the little ones catch up. I think that is what the Lupron is for right now, to keep them all around the same size.. Have you considered the ICSI? Where they just go ahead and fertilize the eggs manually? We are doing that, cause we want to make sure they fertilize as many as possible. It does cost more, but at this point we are doing all possible. Might be something to ask about.

I am also glad to hear you are feeling well, besides being tired and the occasional pain. I can't believe you got 6 eggs with Clomid. I only ever got one or two mature ones. Nothing great. But did well on Follistim. So we will see with these other meds.

Yep, my appt. is tomorrow for my first scan. I am looking forward to moving on, so I am hoping everything will be ok. I will let you know.

Keep me posted on everything :), and talk soon.

Thanks for the possitive thoughts...keep sending them my way. I went for the scan today and saw Dr. Schmidt. I liked him so much better than Dr. Freidman!!! He was much more possitive and upbeat. He said there were between 6-7 big ones and about 7 smaller ones that he could see. I am to trigger tonight at 11 pm. ER will be Wednesday. I am hoping that the HCG and two days will allow the littler ones to catch up and maybe we will have the possiblilty of 12-14 good size follicles (mature eggs)?? Some could be hiding too, right???

We never considered ICSI because Dr. G said he didn't advise it b/c of my husbands count. I am assuming that if they don't get very many eggs they will go ahead and do it anyway??? (then we will just fork over more cash!) It makes sense to fertilize whatever we can get. I am just hoping and praying that we have a good number of mature high quality eggs and a good fertilization rate. I know, not asking for much am I?

Good luck at your baseline tomorrow. Let me know how it goes. I will tell you ALL about the ER on Weds.

THanks for your words of encouragement and possitive thougths.

lm,

Schmidt was my doctor - don't you just love him? Everytime I would be feeling negative he would always bring me back up!

Just wanted to say congrats on the follies and good luck on Wednesday. I am sure you will be surprised at how many eggs they get, just like I was.
ER is a piece of cake. Let us know how it goes!

Kelly - goodluck with scan. Hope all is going well.

I am rooting for you ladies! :)

IM,

That is absolutely GREAT news about the follies!!! I know you will have more, I just know it.

I will pray for a successful and easy time on Wednesday. WOW, it seems like it was just a few days ago you started your Lupron. Time flies. I can not wait to hear from you and how everything is going. Dr. Schmidt is wonderful. It like him second to Dr G. who is my primary. I love Dr. G, cause even if he is off I sware sometimes he will come in when I have scans. I have seen him 6 out of the last 6 times I have been in to ORM. It has been great.

Will Schmidt be on call for Wednesday? You know you can always ask for him if you want him to do the retrieval. Of course they can not guarantee it, but does not hurt to ask. I have never had the other Dr. Friedman, but have seen him around. Dr. Williams is really nice too. Anyone but Dr. Kennard! :)

Well good luck to you, and I know it will be positive!

I will let you know about my scan tomorrow.

LisaB, How are you? How are you doing in this heat? I hope you and that little baby are doing well.

Oh, forgot to mention... We are doing the ICSI cause my DH has a good sperm count, but the mobility is not great. So we decided it would be a good idea to go ahead with it. Definitely does not make sense for everyone. And you are right, if they do not fertilize I think they do what is called "Emergency ICSI" on the eggs. That is suppose to be like 80% effective.

Morning.

Had my scan this am. Everything looks good, and I am just waiting for my E2 results. So I hope that they are >80 so we can move on and start my meds on Sat. If not have to say on the Lupron for another week. I guess it could be worse.

IM, how are you doing the day before? Are you feeling nervous at all? I asked a little about the retrieval, and it does not sound as bad as the HSG.

Kelly - glad to hear your baseline went well. :) Once you start stimms - time FLIES!! It flies up until the 2ww - then time stands still - but you'll get through it!

The heat has not been fun being pregnant. Luckily - I do not have it as bad as women who are in their 3rd trimester - they have to be so uncomfortable right now. I tend to get bad headaches when the air quality is bad and they go away after it rains. So I just lay up in the air conditioning and drink lots of water. Always love an excuse to lay around and watch TV - lol.

lm - good luck, again, for tomorrow. Those are some good drugs they give you - let me tell ya! I broke out in a fit of giggles when I was laying on the table - it was funny. You won't feel any pain at all and they will call out the count of eggs right as they get them, which is neat. I bet they get at least a dozen from you. I will be looking forward to logging on and seeing how you did.

Well ladies I am ready to go! It is nice having a shot free day today, but I am ready for tomorrow!! They had to move the ER to 11:30 because someone is having ICSI before me. I guess the lab likes to do them first. That means your ER will be earlier Kelly. I had to give the HCG shots at 11:30. I had to set an alarm because I was afraid I would fall asleep.

I have no idea who the doc will be tomorrow. I would be okay with Dr. G, Dr. Williams, or Dr. S. I can't believe Dr. G has been in for all of your scans. That is awesome. He did my baseline, but that is it. I didn't do any IUI with ORM, I did them with my regular doc, so I have been a patient of Dr. G that long. Who did your baseline today? I am sure your estrogen will be fine. Mine was 12....I am glad it went well. You are right. The time flies!

My husband annoyed me a little last night. He was making a big deal out of going and giving a sample. I feel bad for him, but I think he can do that one thing since I am doing sooooo much! This is awful, but do you know if they "provide" them with anything to make it easier?? TMI :o

Lisa...I am sorry about the heat, but you know ohio...it won't last! When is your due date? Are you going to find out what you are having? Hang in there.

Thanks for checking in ladies. I appreciate it. Pray for lots of good quality eggs tomorrow!!!

Hi again, IM & LisaB

I just got the call back and my E2 was at 20, so I have the green light to start the stims Saturday. So glad about that.

IM, my husband is already complaining about giving the sample... It makes me SO upset. I mean that is the least they can do. I think they have magazines there. At least that is what my husband said. I don't even feel bad about being frustrated with him when he get like that. He thinks all the stuff we are going through is easy. Nice. Oh well, chauk it up to them being men!! :)

I am SOOO excited for you tomorrow, and I can not believe it is here already. I will be thinking about you, and can't wait to hear. I think Kennard and Schmidt are in this week on call. So ask if Schmidt can do it when you get in. However I did see Kennard today and she was really nice.

Just think tomorrow at this time you will be at home resting.

LisaB,

Hang in there with the heat! :)

Great Estrogen level! I can't believe it is already time for you to start stims....i feel like you just started Lupron!

I am glad your husband is an idiot about that too...I was hoping it wasn't just mine. He so great about so many things and then not about this. I know that it sucks, but are ANY of the things we are doing fun? No, they are NOT! I am sure you would agree with me...we don't "enjoy" giving ourselves 3 shots a day, but we do it. I don't even complain. It is just what I have to do....and now he is complaining.....I HATE THAT! Oh well, hopefully tomorrow is the LAST time he will have to do that!...

Pray for lots of healthy eggs tomorrow!! :) Thanks!

okay..they got 7 eggs. I think that number stinks, but everyone keep saying it is great. They will call tomorrow and tell me how many fertilize. I hope and pray that they ALL do!! Kennard did the procedure. She was a little better today, still not my favorite!

I took the Xanax two hours before. It made me a little loopy. When we got to the office they gave me a shot of dilotid (?). It is supposed to dry you up so you don't bleed as much. It made my mouth, throat, and lips really dry. I couldn't wait to have a glass of water! They check your vitals a couple of times just to make sure everything is okay. Then you go into the procedure room. They give you some numbing medicine down there...that kind of stung, but nothing major at all. then they turn the ultrasound on and put the needle in. I am not going to lie. I thought it hurt, but when it was over I instantly felt better, not perfect...but better. I came home had some soup, took some tylenol, and took a nap. It is 5 oclock and I still feel a little crampy, but overall pretty good! I am glad it is over and just praying for good news tomorrow.

I'll give you the update when I know! Thanks for checking in and thinking of me. Send me some strong prayers and baby dust for tonight! Thanks again-

Okay...just got the call. Out of the 7, six fertilized. The lab person said they all look exactly the same at one cell. She will call tomorrow and tell me how they are dividing. THey have a bunch of criteria, but because there are 6 I am doing a three day transfer...having them put back in on Saturday. I don't know how I feel about that. I have heard such good things from day 5. What do you think? So it looks like Saturday is a big day for both of us...you start stims and I get "pregnant"! Keep praying that all 6 hang on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
