Horrible 24 hours!

I was rushed into hospital yesterday with very bad cramping pains in the right-hand side of my abdo yesterday. I was kept in over night for obs as they suspected an ectopic. Had a scan this morning (obviously not ectopic as I wouldn't be here typing - thank goodness) the sac was in the right place but was only showing up as 5 weeks not 6. They said this could either be because it was too early or because the sac has stopped growing. Got to wait till tonight to get the result of yesterdays betta HCG test. I'm really worried now.

Has anyone else experienced this with the scan?

By the way, it turns out my right ovary is a bit on the large side - hence the pain!

I am so sorry to hear but, hang in there hopefully everything will be good! I will put you in my prayers!
Thank god it's not a ectopic! I had 2 of those and they are horrible!

Thanks everyone. The hospital have just phoned, my last beta was 1700, today's was 3172, although it hasn't doubled it has still gone up so that's good isn't it????

I'm so worried now and have to wait till Thursday for the next scan

I think you are probably fine. The doubling thing is not so rigid a rule.

I assume they are keeping an eye out for the very rare heterotopic pregnancy? That is when there is one or more in the uterus and one or more somewhere else.

Sounds like you are having such a tough time. Thinking of you

However, the rise in the beta sounds good news. Try to take it easy over the weekend and really hope my Monday that they can put your mind at rest.

Thanks. I do feel a little better today. I was searching a lot last night on beta HcG results. Apparently when you get to 6-7 weeks they only double every 2-3 1/2 days so this is very encouraging. Still nothing is definate until the scan on Thursday - it's such a long way off.

This whole IVF process is all just waiting - not good for an impatient person like me!
