Is anyone in the San Francisco Bay Area?

Post by mountainpuddles »

Hi Gals, it's Becky a newbie. I was wondering if anyone has used Kaiser Hospital for their choice of IVF treatment? My DH and I have Delta Health and they only cover the diagnosis of infertility. We are planning to switch depending on Kaiser's reputation. They will pay 1/2. Thanks for helping!!!

you can try another site here for more kaiser questions.

I was with kaiser and moved to stanford after 1 year because kaiser started ivf recently and also insurance doesn't cover. If you are in the bay area, why don't you try san francisco or stanford?

Good luck

Becky,
I live in Sacramento and Kaiser Point West just started their invitro program. I was one of the first 6 to be done. I'm assuming your talking about the Kaiser in Fremont? That is the only other Kaiser around here that I know of. Unfortunately, I don't know of anyone who has gone through them, but I know the new Kaiser Endocrinologist they hired here in Sacramento said that the Dr at Fremont was very picky on who they would do IVF on. Like they had to be good candidates since their program is still fairly new and they want good results. I am going through a private IVF program for my second try as I know they Dr and he gave me better hope than they Kaiser Dr did. Good luck on your decisions.

K Rose -

After Kaiser where did you choose? I recently had a negative from the clinic in Davis and was thinking of potentially trying Sher or Northern California. Any advice?? I know people who have had success at both, but it is hard to tell as they have different issues than I do. Have you had some success??

Amy,

I am going to Northern California Fertility Medical Clinic. One of the reasons I decided to go there is the endocrinologist that was at Kaiser (before their IVF program was set up) that I had when I had my daughter via IUI's (who I absolutely love) is there now as of a couple of years ago. I don't know anyone who has gone to Sher, but know many who have gone to Norther California and had good success. I think I did hear that Sher was more expensive though. If you have any more questions about Northern California let me know. They are all very nice there. There are 5 different Dr's there.
