how long did you wait to try another IVF?

just had my first IVF and am afraid it failed. will know by tomorrow bw for sure. but want to be prepared. so wonder how many cycles did you wait before you try again? also, if IVF failed, when will the period show up her ugly face?

I do not have anything to offer you as I am presently going though my first one. However, I am curious as well. I try to stay postive but I am much better being prepared for what can happen.

I too have just gone through my first IVF (well ICSI to be precise) and it was a BFN..

From what I can gather, most clinic likes you to wait until you have had 2 normal periods until you have another go.

In terms of when AF rears her ugly head after a BFN, I think it differs from person to person. AF arrived 1 day before testing in my case.

It appeared to be a "normal" period, albiet a bit heavier.

thanks Corinna. sorry about your BFN and I think I will join you there soon. i cheated by using HPT and it just crushed me . will get official bw this afternoon.

AF hasn't showed up here yet. i think i will try accupuncture before next cycle...

Hi Anita,

I'm sorry to hear about your BFN. On the paperwork I got from my clinic it says your period should arrive anything up to 7 days after the negative result. They also advise you to wait three months before trying again but then they are all different. I've seen some people on here try immediately after. Are you having a follow-up appointment with your clinic? They will be able to tell you what they do there.
