Discharge~Is it ok?

Post by Tracy P »

Hi,
I am Tracy and just found out i am pregnant after my first attempt at IVF,
do not know how many weeks i am yet but i had my egg collection on the 4th July and egg transfer on the 6th July.
I have got an appointmant for a scan in 3 weeks to see if there are one or two embryo's.
I am a little worried at the moment though, yesterday when i went to the toilet after wiping i noticed ther was brown discharge and also today, there is not lots of it as i only notice when i wipe it is not staining my knickers.I also have pain on my right hand side very low down which is making my leg ache this is not bad pain though.
Not sure if things are ok has anybody else had this?
I am sure and hoping it is just my body adjusting.
Has anybody else experienced this?

Hi Tracy,
Welcome here..
You will find that brown discharge is more usual than one would think when pregnant, and somehow, i find that its been more common in ivf mommies to be...
I also had brown discharge thru my 1st tri..
Keep an eye on it- contact your clinic if it turns red or gets heavier..Stay off your feet.
Wishing you lots of luck in this journey!!

cheers,
smita

Hi Tracy

Congratulations on your BFP
I just wanted to say that I also had brown discharge during my first tri and Smita gave me the exact same advise and she was right. Keep an eye on it.I didnt get any in my second tri (that doesn't mean you won't either) but if you are atall concerned, phone your midwife.
I have also noticed that it appears to be more common with IVF pregnancies so maybe it has something to do with EC or maybe the hormones.
Good luck and enjoy your pregnancy

Dont worry hun, it happened with me too and my IVF Dr. told me its common and its the eggs implanting. He also said its a lot more heavier and common in multiples and look at me now I am having twins!

Don't worry and congrats on your BFP

congratulations Tracy!

I had this before AF was due and then it stopped. My sister said she had it when AF was due and for weeks after and her child is now 2 years old! I also had right sided pain.............I think the nurse said something like it was the ovary feeding the embryo or something like that. I know the follicle I had was on the right side so it made sense. Anyway, I'm 17 weeks now and all is okay.

take care

I had some of the same. Really dont worry (easier said than done). If the pain gets very bed you should tell the clinic.

If you are concerned they may give you an early scan! I think you are 5 weeks and I had a scan at 5 1/2 weeks and could see two little sacs pulsing (not quite heartbeats)

Best wishes
