Well it looks like this was not a good day for testing. I am a BFN. I am disappointed but at least it wasn't another miscarriage. A negative is much easier for me to deal with than another miscarriage.

Thanks for all your support!!

I definitely dont mean to bring up horrible experiences, but I see that there are a lot of miscarriages here on the IVF boards. Is there any particular reason for this that is associated with IVF? Can it be predicted somehow?

I read an article that basically says that as early as six weeks' gestation, levels of three placental hormones - inhibin A, hCG and oestradiol - were up to four times lower in the women who went on to miscarry compared with the women who subsequently had a live birth.

Is it possible to have your doctor test you for these hormones? I also read that below normal HCG levels can be an indicator as well...

Here is the article > http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/3971855.stm

It is very disheartening to see the swing to BFNs and especially HELLOKITTY's loss. We need some positive energy to get the BFPs up again!

 6 BFN - I'm so sorry for you all my heart goes out to you.

I'm having a bad day today but it doesn't seem right to moan when so many of you have had the BFN!

I'm just so anxious about tomorrow (having another scan). Last week they said the sac could have stopped growing at 5 weeks but surely if it had my pregnancy symptoms would have stopped by now?? My boobs are still so swollen and painful. I'm still so exhausted. Something is going on with my tummy because two days ago it has just expanded. I'm a larger lady anyway (size 14-16) but my tummy looks like it's 6 months pregnant and it's so soild. The beanie is only the size of a baked bean now so I don't know what's happened there. I'm embarrassed to go out the house. People will ask me if I've got long to go - yes only 7.5 months! Has anyone else suffered like this?? Please say yes!

I hope everyone else is doing ok.

Enjoy your day

Jo

Pebbles try not to worry, I hope your scan goes well tomorrow and will be keeping my fingers crossed for you.

My symptons have been really strong. My boobs have calmed down now or I have just got used to them. I am very irritable at the moment and want to scream at everyone at work as they are irritating me the most!

I had my first scan on Monday which went very well. I have one beanie and I saw the heart beating. I have my next one on 10th August.

I'm also so sorry to see the long stream of BFN's - it's not fair!!

Jo (Pebbles) I feel the same as you - guilty complaining but I guess it's just reality that once you pass the BFP hurdle there are many more ahead... 2WW is tough and then the wait for your first sono is a killer. Then the big wait for 12 weeks - it's all the same emotional roller coaster you feel while in IVF cycles, wondering if it's working or you'll be one of the many with complications.

And yes, you're not alone in your suffering. My huge knockers and big belly are just plain embarassing this early on. Don't know if it's from the swollen ovaries, water weight, IVF meds, twins or what. I've miscarried before @ 10 weeks and stopped "feeling pregnant" a few days before the bleeding started so I have that in the back of my mind and every time I feel really good physically it scares me to death. Most of the time tho I'm nauseated, sleepy and irritable ... just constantly terrified it will end. PMA-PMA-PMA I am really trying! :)

Can't wait to hear the results of upcoming scans. Loved the great news about your scan, Lisa (lispetite)!

LM, I'm crossing everything and sending sticky dust your way - can't wait for your BFP!!

Thanks, I did read that you lose your symptoms when a m/c is dooming, dh thinks I'm silly as every now and then I will squeeze my boobs to see if they still hurt! It this exhaustion that's killing me. I'm finding it hard to even keep my head up at times!

Racquel when's your scan?

Renee best of luck for your scan tomorrow. Mine's at 12.30 but takes a few hours to get there so at least I haven't got to hang around too long. I will post when I get back.

Best of luck IM, enjoy your incubating!
