BF?

They just called. "Technically you ARE pregnant," they said because it came back as an 8, but they don't think it worked and neither do I. I have to add an oral progesterone and test again on Friday. Treating it like a BFN!

Look at my horoscope for today. I don't follow these things, but it is on my MSN homepage and it is always fun to read!

You will find great strength in your inner reserves today, dear Pisces, so don't hesitate to let your deepest thoughts shine through. Keep your antennae up all day, for you will find that there is an added bit of electricity in the air that is keeping people's emotions at a peak level. Follow your instincts, and keep in mind that this is probably your best defense against the challenges of the day. Rational thinking is highly overrated.

Everybody has their time. Unfortunately, for some of us it's not right now but, hang in there and hopefully soon your time will come!!!
Hugs to you all!!!

Newcomer/any advice re OHSS

Post by Filipa »

Hello everyone,

I have only just discovered this website and have been ploughing through all the posts this morning. I am now on 2 WW and wish I had found you all sooner!! Better late than never I suppose.
I wondered if anyone had advice re OHSS and pregnancy. I suffered from OHSS after the ET and doc said symptoms would clear up UNLESS I got pregnant and then they would worsen again. I am now panicking as I have not had any further symptoms. Has anyone had a similar experience?
Also having what feels like AF cramping and feel a bit emotional like PMT symptoms. I test on Monday and all the confusion of trying to read symptoms is driving me crazy.
Thanks to anyone who can help and good luck to everybody. It is so nice to feel not alone in all of this.

Hi Filipa,am so glad you found us,the ladies on these pages have been invaluable to me,i think they've saved me going insane!! This is my 3rd 2ww,i've had 2 fresh ivf cycles,(both failed) just had FET on tuesday and due to test August 9th,my advice would be dont look into any symptoms you may have,i think you can read them both ways, sore boobs..period due, pregnant?? cramping..period due or implantation?? sore back, pregnant or period due?? What im trying to say is that the symptoms for both are quite similar...Try and stay calm and positive, which is easier said than done(wish i could take my own advice!!) and best of luck to you..when do you test..Take care ..Nicola..xx

Hi Nicola,

Thanks so much for your reply. Yes shall try my best not to obsess over symptoms as I know it is very good advice. My DH thinks I have turned into a crackpot :D
It was lovely to just read today that there are people going through the same experiences and confirming how difficult it is not to analyse every twinge/wave of nausea etc. It really is a stressful journey from start to end.
Wishing you all the best of luck on 09th August for your BFP. We have decided to go away this weekend to try and distract ourselves. Ha ha. We shall see.........

Take care and thanks again.

Hi Filipa, when i first realised i was going down the IVF route,i started watching a programme "Test Tube Babies" on discovery channel at the start it tells you ivf is an emotional rollercoaster,my god they never said a truer word...Each day, injection, hospital appointment, scan, blood test,is all a hurdle to get over so we can get to the next step..I think we just goota grin and bear it,thats why i love these boards, every lady knows what you're going through, and although family and friends try to be supportive, unless they've done ivf,no one can really tell what we're going through..Take care, lots of luck for a BFP..Nicola...xxx

Hello,

Just got back from the scan and have popped on to give you a quick update!

We saw a little heart beat beating away within seconds of the probe getting there! Everything is where it should be and the size it should be.

I'm so relieved, the last week has been awful not knowing, now I can't stop grinning!

Hope everyone is having a good day.

First I want to congradulate PebblesUK on her succesful first scan! WAY TO GO!!!

Secondly, I would like to make an anouncement... When my wife and I went to our first scan this morning we were shocked by what the doctor found!

See our ticker below for a clue

so much news

Post by racquel »

I'll start with the bad news since that is the hardest ... I'm so sorry to hear about your BF? Amanda, it's got to be that much worse with the uncertainty. Sounds like you've got some great inner strength to get you through this - wishing you all the best for your next step...

Welcome to the boards Filipa! Hope you enjoy your time away this weekend ... the swelling from OHSS is so uncomfortable (not quite an adequate word but trying to be positive, haha) I only had a slight case but am a big wimp and I was miserable. It's hard to tell whether the bloating and pain is due to embie implanting, your ovaries or AF ... try to keep PMA PMA PMA and we'll be keeping everything crossed that it's a BFP!

Jo (Pebbles) - Congratulations! What a wonderful feeling it must be to see that heartbeat right away!

Kabillion - Double Congratulations! Did your wife think it was twins or was this a big surprise? I remember swapping notes with you re: hCG scores but my brain is mush, can't recall the specifics.... so happy for you!

Hope everyone else is feeling great. I'm in a terror of a mood today (poor, poor DH I feel so guilty) ... think I'll call and unleash on my clinic for making us wait til week 8 for our sono!!! Take care everyone, Racquel

Racquel,

We both had very strong feelings that it would be twins. My wife was having twin dreams and I had a 'feeling' - I can't really explain it any more than that, but it was based on many observations and intuitions.

That being said when we saw two 6-week old heartbeats it was a very powerful moment for us. I am still emotional now just thinking about it. I just hope and pray that it all continues to go well (I'm much the worry wort).

And yourself? Did you have your twins confirmed as well?!

THIS IS ALL SO CRAZY, ISN'T IT? I can not stop thinking about all the other women/couples on our July list - I have them in my prayers that all of us wil have babies by the end of 2007. ALL OF US!!!! let's keep thinking that!!!
