Hi everyone. Thought I would start a new THREAD as original is getting quite full. Hope this is ok July Ann.... How is everyone?? July ann-hope you are ok & keeping positive-do you have scan booked tomorrow? Karen-how are you at the mo, Im getting fed up now with sniffing & pill popping, cant wait until 10/09 when I get blood tests & hopefully go ahead for FET. Jackie-how was your scan??? Where ru at?? Kat-have you started yet?? Nikola-hope you are not having too many side effects with injections, I did Purogen-sting a bit, but not too bad..Any dates yet for EC? Alison B-Any dates yet? Where ru at?? Has AF arrived yet?? Di-sorry have lost track, hope you are ok, have you got pc access yet? And finally, Donna-HAPPY BIRTHDAY- & good luck today for EC ...... Thanks for the Birthday greeting Sarah. As you can tell, by the fact I am writing this, I am not actually having EC today. I went for my scan on Monday and they decided that the follicles weren't quite the size that they should be and so everything has been put off until Friday - tonight is my 36 hour injection! I hope everyone is keeping well, happy and most of all positive!!! I have a good feeling that September will have just as many positives as August was! Love to you all. Donna

hi girls sarah glad you started a new thread, i have a scan booked for thursday so will see hoe the eggies are doing. how are you.hope all is ok with the blood tests, i feel a bit down today hb is getting on my nerves.Bloody men...... donna hope all goes well for friday, will they go back in on sunday. how have your scan's been can you see lot's of eggs. well speak to you soon july ann

Thanks Sarah, for letting me know about this thread for the September cycles. I am in the follicle stimulation stage. I go for my first scan tomorrow to see how they are doing. This is my first try at IVF and I'm equally nervous and excited with each new step. Are there any "teachers" out there that can tell me what your initias stand for, such as FET, EC, AF, DH. I'm pretty sure that DH is husband, but what does the D stand for? I hope everyone is hearing great news! Val

hi girls went for a scan today and not looking too good as i only have a few and they are very small. So they have up my drugs to 450 of gonal f and i have to go back on saturday to see how they are.Feel i bit down as i had a cycle last year stopped as i had a poor responce to the drugs. Has this happened to any one else and have they gone on to get good egg's. every stage is such a worry..... donna is this what happened to you. sarah i could do with jonny depp right now. well catch up soon july ann

Not an expert but here goes FET-frozen embryo transfer EC-Egg collection AF-aunty flow (period) DH-not sure but I think must be Darling or Dear Husband -maybe someone else can confirm Could be Dippy husband!! Hope this helps & good luck for your scan tomorrow. Where are you from? Im from Southampton-most on here I think are from London or up North I think..... Sarah xx p.s ET-embryo transfer

Sarah, thanks for the info. I'm from Florida, USA. Somehow, all of my intenet travels lead me to this forum. It's been interesting to see the little differences in language. Now that I know the lingo (language), I can say that my EC is scheduled for 9/9. My DH has a severely low sperm count, usure of the reason. He goes in for a testicle biopsy on 9/8 to retrieve the little guys. Thanks, July Ann and Sarah for your nice wishes. July Ann, sorry you are down right now, I wish the best for you on Saturday. Hi all Welcome Val - how exciting to have someone from the US on our little board. My fertility nurse was telling me one of her patients after many failed attempts here, has flown out to Miami to have her tmt (treatment) because the hospitals out there let patients put 6+ embies back and then if they have multiple implants they 'downsize'. I know this probably isn't the correct terminology but you know what I mean. The patient in question is now pg with twins! are you allowed to put more back? Are you going to? Its really interesting to hear how different countries do things. Sarah I love your definition of everyone is from London or "Up North", when you live in Southampton, I guess EVERYONE is Up North to you!!! Did make me chuckle. You're right about the puregon it does sting, my first injection produced a massive bruise I blamed dh (dear husband - although I'm sure we can think of lots of alternatives for what the 'd' stands for depending what mood we are in!!) for pushing too hard! I'm sure he thinks the harder he presses the wretched thing in the more likely it is to work! I'm onto day four of injecting and have a scan on Monday and hopefully EC one day next week - probably Thurs or Fri. Last time I was well cooked early - day 9, I'm hoping things will go a bit slower this time. I'm going for quality not quantity!!! July Ann - cheer up honey. Dont let what happened with your other tmts influence how your are feeling. Stay positive remember every tmt is completely different. Less worry and lots of relaxation needed. Lots of PMA and hugs coming your way!!! Alisonb and Nikola, thanks for the welcome. Nikola, the clinic I am going to in Orlando, FL does not allow me to to implant more than 2 embryos. That is the max they will allow for anyone under the age of 37. I am 32. They are really conservative about multiple births. They currently have a rate of 50% twins for under 35 and want it even lower than that. I certainly would be tempted to implant more if I had the option. So, do most of you have your dh giving the shots? My clinic has me giving them to myself in the thigh. I guess that keeps my dh out of trouble. I'm ok with the needle, but the burn and bruising is a little more than I expected, small price to pay though. And yes, this site is addictive, I better get back to work! Val

Val, This site must be very good if someone all the way in the USA has ended up here...... What stage am I at......am sniffing Bruselin 3xdaily & taking Progynova tablets 3x daily, have blood tests booked for 10/09 & if all ok FET next day if embryos survive the thaw!! Then dreaded 2ww..(looks like same 2 weeks as you!!) Nikola-good luck with the injections. Are you injecting in leg or stomach. I did mine in stomach, thought it would hurt but plenty of flesh so not to bad, had an auto injector too,, got hubby to load syringe & pen & I jabbed myself with pen. Good luck all, Sarah xx

Hi all, AF has arrived this morning so am off for day 3 scan tomorrow (day 2 as they don't scan on Saturdays) so all being well will start injecting on Saturday. Can't believe it is so soon after last time (got a -ve 1st August) but I just wanted to get going again. Feeling really positive at the moment too, so lets hope we continue the run of +ves.... hi all i have now had my scan and all seems well, i also had my blood tests, the results which i get tomorrow. hopefully , then i can start the injections. this just happens to be dh's fav bit,{as we are 2nd timers} maybe i'm wrong, but i'm sure i can see a certian glint in his eyes when he is stabbing that needle, esp if i have been a tad bit grouchy. so i am going to have to make a big effort to smile.... on the other hand, i have been wondering... what if i accidentally injected him whilst he slept???? would he be grouchy?? donna - will be thinking of you tonight. july-ann - the war is not over yet, you could still come through. kat - you and i seem to be around the same time, good-luck scan. sarah - why are you injecting in the stomach? is this a new thing? good luck everyone.. lots of positive vibes+++++ jackie
