Congratulations Jessica and Rachel!!!

One of you, I think it was Jessica, asked about "the bump." I never lost mine, it just keeps growing. I already have strangers asking when I'm due, it's so embarassing to tell them March, they just look at me like I'm a freak (not far from the truth, haha). That's part of the reason I'm so convinved there are two buggers in there!

Lots of cramping the last few days, but feels more like growing pains than AF or miscarriage-type cramping so I'm not too worried. PMA PMA PMA

Hope you're all feeling well and have a great weekend. I'm in heaven because my 9yr old (almost 10) daughter comes home Saturday after visiting family in Oregon for 7 long weeks. Glad she missed the roller coaster of EC, ET, 2WW etc but have missed her tons! I cant wait to see HER reaction to mommies big tummy :)

Hugs all around - Racquel

I too have the "bump". It's like I'm bloated but I can't suck it in. I'm only 6 weeks so I can only imagine I'm going to be enormous!!!

Mine's more a mountain than a bump! I questioned it at the doctors yesterday as I'm so embarrassed. I look like 7 months not 7 weeks and it's rock solid. They've told me not to worry and I should be proud of it. Something to do with your muscles relaxing and all the medication I am still taking - other people don't look like this though!

Well I'm going to enjoy every moment even if I am in maternity clothes already! :D

Nothing like dragging this out....My numbers doubled, still low, but doubled, so I still have to do all the shots! They said I'm not out of the woods yet and now I have to re-test on Monday. Still not posting a BFP though!

I FEEL SUCH A FOOL!!!!!!

Take back all i said about a BFP. I read the test wrong.
I had just shoved a test in my bag when i came away and didn't bring the instructions.

We went to CVS tonight to buy some more just to be sure and i noticed that i had read the test wrong and we didn't have a positive at all.

I had to laugh to stop myself from crying, but now it's sunk in i'm quite upset, infact we both are, we had got all excited and then had it taken away.

WELL THAT SERVES ME RIGHT FOR USING THOSE EVIL STICKS!!!!!!

We have now decided to wait till the 3rd Aug and not test ourselves again.

So i still need all your prayers and PMA as mine is a bit low at the moment.

Hugs Rachel OXO

I was going to say something earlier, but I decided not to because you seemed so happy... now the gloves are off!

Home pregnancy tests are NOTORIOUSLY unreliable for IVF pregnancies, almost to the point of being about as useful as determining whether I am pregnant, and I'm a guy!

Simply explained, your hormones have not accrued to the point where an HPT would notice them. HPT are designed for 6 weeks onward, when secondary pregnancy symptoms have developed and your urine has enough concentrated HCG to test.

Even worse, if you are taking stimulation medications such as the HCG booster you had during retrieval, it could produce a false positive!! The worst of the worst, if you ask me.

So don't be sad, be happy because the HPT you took is useless in determining whether or not you are pregnant.

Rachel - I'm so sorry you're going through this, god knows you've gone through enough already, thinking of you hun xxx

Well girls i got a BFP this morning i'm still having to pinch myself to make sure i'm awake.
One worry that me and Paul have already is that is there any chance that the trigger shot could be making this a false positive. We were good though and we have waited until day 14 to do the HPT. It's just when i read the last post it got me worried.
Cheers for any advice
Love wendy xxxx

You can't get false positves from HCG Blood tests - is that what you did?

With an HPT it is far more likely to get false negative than a false positive, although it could happen. If you haven't had an HCG booster in 2 weeks, then it is likely that HPT test result is accurate as it takes about 10 days for the HCG shot you initially took to wear off.

So congrats!!!!

Congratulations Wendy,

I've been thinking of you all morning and only came on to see how you got on, well done!

There are a lot of clinic who want you to do a HPT first. If there was any way your trigger shot would interfer with the result I don't think they would have asked you to do one. These days the HPT's are the most accurate they have ever been, they are even being used in GP surgeries (well definately around the UK) and they can now detect (in a normal cycle) as early as 4 days before your period is due. As Kabillion said you are more like to get a false negative than a false positive.

So you are just going to have to accept your pregnant!!!!!!! :D

When do you have to go for your first beta test?

I'm so happy for you Wendy :D
