Wishing you all the best for your ultrasound tomorrow Maria - thanks to you and Lumi both for the heads-up re: bleeding, I never heard that could happen and think it would have give me quite a bad fright otherwise...at least if it happened to me now I'd be able to breathe until the dr checked it out...

11 weeks on PIO - you are a trooper! I am counting the days for ours to be over, only 14 left! (and still not nearly as long as you - only 6 weeks here...)

Hope everyone is feeling well today - I'll go back to sipping my ginger ale now, haha...

Racquel, this will make you feel even better. I was on the PIO (oil & progesterone shots) through week 14!!!!

I also had bleeding during my 12th week. Scared the crap out of me too, but it was just "normal" bleeding. Nothing bright red coming out of me seems normal though. :)

Well, I guess as of today this is the place for my wife Renee and I... We were told we were pregnant with twins this morning in our first 6 week ultrasound - 2 heartbeats clearly visible. To be honest we 'felt' that this would be the case - isnt that weird?

Of course now I am petrified!! I want to ensure that nothing will happen to 'the twins'!!! So my wife has taken off of work to relax and reduce her stress levels. I work at home, so we are together all day - I just hope my anxiety doesn't stress her out more than work would :?

Hi Kabillion

Congratulations on your twin news.
Please try not to stress. I remember (it seems so long ago now) when my dh and I found out we were having twins, I read and heard alot of stories about losing one of the babies and so forth. It's very hard but you must try to stay positive and take each precious day as it comes. I don't mean to sound harsh but what will be, will be. I am still working and I'm 28 weeks now and I plan to carry on for at least another month. You are right in staying stress free (both of you) but don't stop doing the things you would normally do.
Good luck and enjoy your pregnancy. It's great fun. x

Maria, how did you get on with your US yesterday. I also bled during my first Tri and it was the most scariest thing ever. Unfortunately, it happens. Normally nothing to worry about and it's great that you are seeing the hospital often. Let me know how things went.

Lumi, how's things with you hun. Still suffering with morning sickness?

Raquel, any news yet???

KristiA, whens your next scan booked for. I have one on Monday and I am very excited. I am wondering at what point do they tell me whether I will have a natural birth or a C Section. Whatever they decide I will be happy with as long as they bubbies are ok.

I have now finished my nursery and I absolutely love it. I keep getting up in the middle of the night ( at least four trips to the toilet a night) and sitting in their room. I am so excited about bringing them home. I am constantly daydreaming about it.

Wow just think, in about 10 weeks I won't be daydreaming anymore, and from what I've heard, dreaming will be a thing of the past!!! I don't care.

Have I forgotten anyone, I hope not? For anyone I have missed out, hope things are good with you.

Love to all

Great Ultrasound

Post by mariab1976 »

The ultrasound went great. We saw both babies and both heartbeats. One about 170 and the other about 150. The baby with the slower heartrate is measuring a day or so behind the other. But the RE is happy with both.

I am on my last week of PIO (yeah 7 more days.) And I was released to my OB. Who I also saw yesterday. He wasn't thrilled about the twins. In my first pregnancy I had severe pre-eclampsia and was hospitalized before being induced at 31 weeks. My son was very pre-mature (Okay now though)

He said my chances of getting again would have been slim if I were only pregnant with one. But since it's two I will not only have to see him but also a peri.

Hey, whatever works right!

Oh a silly note. My husband told me he will shot himself if they both turn out to be girls. And I told him I felt the same way about both of them being boys. Neither one of us wants to be that out numbered by the opposite sex.

Maria, funny, I felt that way about having two boys too. I thought for sure I'd get at least one girl. Nope, two boys. But you know what, after 4 weeks of knowing now I'm over the idea of wanting to have one of each. I probably feel like all of you do....I'm lucky to be having one, let alone two, so I'll take anything...I just want them healthy!

Chelle, sounds like we're on a similar schedule...only you are about 3 weeks ahead of me. I plan to have the nursery done by 28 weeks too. And you are thinking of '10 weeks until you have the babies' and I keep thinking "about 12 or so weeks'. Doesn't that seem right around the corner? I love that you go into the nursery in the middle of the night. How sweet!

I agree with Chelle's advice to Kabillion. I felt the same way at first...scared to death of losing one of them. Honestly, I still feel that way at times, given that they often are preemies. I'm also working as long as I can before quitting...or maybe working from home the last month. I just make sure I listen to my body and stop or rest when I can tell I need to.

Congrats Kabillion!! I'm glad to see another person join our thread. It's fun to chat about twins...it's so unique!! Oh, I also had a feeling I was pregnant with twins during the 2 week period from the pregnancy test to the first ultrasound. I just knew it inside. Same as you! I read in a book that it's common.

Have a great weekend everyone!

kabillon, you sound like a sweetie.dh's first instinct was to put me in bubble wrap for 8 months!!!!

I thinkits hard for dh/dp's as the only thing you feel you can do to look after us is make sure we are relaxed!! Okay, that's not too hard!!! My DH is very worried about the lifting.moving things business. I swear he scans the house before he goes to work and again when i'm back to make sure I havent lifted something where i shouldnt. He wont let me carry shopping although I feel fine and know my limits!!! Many congratulations.

Maria, congrats on the US. It's weird being referred on. I had expected to stay at the ivf clinic until 12 weeks. DH says my face was a picture.

Chelle
Sickness seems to have gone   Still cant eat as normal and can feel queasy. Havent been sick since my 'public' sickness episode outside the supermarket. DH held a bag for me...nice.

in the first tri I ate whatever looked okay (not much) from macdonalds (just a couple of times), pizza, cheese sandwich. Meat and veg made me sick just thinking aboout it and as for cooking.....yuk. Now, I want HEALHTHY food. Pizza makes me feel disgust (!)I want roast chicken, potatoes, lots of veg, salad, fruit, homemade soup (even in this weather!) In the first week of feeling better I cooked the same dish nearly every night (a sort of tomato based chicken dish with peas and boiled potatoes). Poor DH!!!!!!!!

I even did a big supermarket shop this morning without feeling any nausea. Before I could hardly walk in!!!!! :D :D

Can you tell i am pleased?????? ALso got the Emma MAhoney book on Doublr Trouble today. Not read much but I love the part when she says she didnt replace any restrictions on food!!!
love to all

Hayley

All I can really say is it is does go!!! It's such a strange thing as when i was actually eating, I was okay. Are you the same?

Also, unlike an illness I would throw up after breakfast (TMI, I know!) and then just eat breakfast again!!! Also, if someone prepares the food when you are in another room you feel like eating it. If you had smelt/seen it brofre hand....oh dear!!!!!

I was sort of ok at work, though. I do think being busy helps to keep the mind off it.

Just keep those regular mini meals going and dont get hungry. In your 2nf tri you will be packing cheese crackers or sandwiches in your bag everytime you leave house for more than an hour!!!!! The munchies hit hard!

hi girls...

yesterday (28th) i had my book in appointment with the midwife.... i had bloods taken and also had the normal checks....ie... blood pressure, weight and i heard the heartbeats.....we dont know if we heard both babies or one....im just happy that all seems good....my next appointment is for a scan on the 17th of august witht he consultant....

i also recieved bad news from home, which made me upset and heartbroken , my niece who is 25 and suffered a miscarrage last year at 8 weeks....suffered another yesterday,,,only she was 24weeks gone... she had went to her midwife and was told babys heart was faint....she got a scan which showed the baby was dead.....she has to be induced tomorrow and baby will have a postmortom on monday then she can bury her child....

so devastated....i will have to travel home for the funeral but im scared and feel a bit awkward that my happiness goes on.....im really close to my neice and we talked almost weekly now i dont know what lies ahead...

hope you girls are well

Post by racquel »

whatever you do -- don't feel guilty. It's not your fault that she lost her baby and you still deserve to be pg & happy. Though I'm sure that is easier to say than feel :) but you'll need lots of strength to get thru this tough time so take care...

BTW just noticed the boytoy (or is it toyboy?) remark, that is so cute & funny!! I'm sure my DH would like to think of himself that way but it's the other way around in our case ... hahaha

take care, racquel
