Hello from FL!

Post by sunrae »

Hi! I am new here so I wanted to introduce myself! My DH & I have been ttc for 2.5 years and I have severe PCOS. I have had a few cancelled cyces with pills (Clomid & Femara) and a non-successful cycle with Follistim and IUI. I was doing a second cycle with Follistim and overproduced. So, I was given the choice - cancel the cycle or switch to in vitro. I switched to in vitro b/c I just couldn't give up on all those follicles. I was their 1st patient to ever switch to in vitro from IUI! The money difference was hard, but we were ready to try. On retrieval day, I had 12 good follicles that gave me 6 eggs. 4 eggs ferilized and 1 made it to 8 cells. So, now I am just waiting until Wednesday for a pregnancy test. I am preparing for the worst but hoping for the best. The wait is torture!

Hi Jenn! Thanks for the welcome! Since I am new to this, I don't know what all the abbreviations mean! What is BFP? I am assuming it has something to do with a positive pregnancy test. Sorry....I am so new to IVF....I had to read ALL the paperwork in one night.
