Feeling sad after further tmts didn't end with a bfp.

Post by Ellie »

Hi
I have 3 year old twins who are brilliant .

In the last 2 years we have had 2 further tmts and not been sucessful in getting another bfp. In may we decided to give up due to my age and poor reponse with the last cycle.

I thought I had come to terms with it all but yesterday I was sorting out all the baby things with a view to selling them to make some space in the loft. However DH and I were unable to do it I feel so gutted that I can't have any more babies.

I also feel so guilty because I know some many people wont even be able to have one and we have been so lucky.

Is anyone else going through this at the moment?

i am sorry that you are having to go thrwe this.
it is always hard to know that you arnt able to have a baby.
and going threw baby things always brings up hurt feelings.
please be kind to yourself.
i know we donated most of our baby things to battered shelters . for women have to leave there homes in a hurry ..

can you do another ivf?
we werent blessed with our babies to raise here but we our blessed with our grandaughter
and all of our many adopted and foster children that touch our lives
and i am glad to add that our 6th grandchild will be born this spring!!!!

Sweetheart, I am so sorry that you are feeling low. I just wanted to send you a huge hug and loads of love.

I can relate in a way to how you are feeling - I would love another child, but DH has said that we will stop at one. We both wanted a daughter and have been blessed with Amelia and so he doesn't want to watch me going through the treatment again.

I just wanted to send you a big hug and let you know I'm here if you need to talk.

Love

Little P

Hi Darlin

so sorry u r going thru this.

I know in some ways how u feel wanting another child. We have one yr old twins who are totaly amazing but i already get broody looking at other babies! We haven't ruled it out as we both want a big family, if poss, my DH is very supportive. But in some ways i feel maybe we should stop where we are as we have been so lucky already.

One thing i will say is dont EVER feel guilty about wanting more kids, no matter how many u have already. I feel like that some times, but I just tell myself if couples without fertility problems can go ahead and have 3,4,5 kids sometimes, then why shouldnt we try for a big family if we want to?!

Is your age a big factor?!

hi
I just wanted to say I know EXACTLY how you feel. We have one miracle child now 1 1 /2 through ICSI. We had a failed FET earlier this year. Its very unlikely we'll be lucky enough again as we think we have used all our available embryos and wigglies!
I too have loads of baby clothes to sell or give away and it breaks my heart. Especially as people keep asking when I'm having another and some even say how selfish it is to only have one child - IF ONLY THE KNEW THE TRUTH!!!!!!!!!
We are even considering using donor sperm if we do decide to have another - but thats loaded with issues of course. Primarily whether my DH would truly feel the same way about a "donor" baby as he does about his "own" child. Make sense??
Anyway - I totally sympathise - happy to "chat" anytime
