Wannababy - Your right it does seem official. I went to my appt and they gave me my first shot and showed me how to do the rest. It wasn't bad and I feel more comfortable knowing how. I go back Saturday for u/s! I am really getting nervous now, but I am trying not to stress about it. Are you still waiting :?:

Sam - Just wanted you to know I was thinking about you and wishing you the best! I started my injections today and the nurses mentioned the ice and I felt so smart, because I already knew that from you.

hopeful-in-LV - Isn't that box scary when you opened it? Its true that after you go through everything you do feel a little better.

Looking forward to hearing from everyone! Happy thoughts for all of us!

Having my meds makes the possibility of getting preg feel 10 times more real. But geeze, the size of the needles make me cringe. I think the first day will be the hardest. Hopefully after that it will feel like nothing. I will definately do the ice method.

Hello ladies

I feel the same. It is so exciting even though I know the procedure may not work out the first time. the Lupron needles are fine, I don't even feel them (my hubby knows the trick, he pinches my skin), but the Follistim shots will probably hurt. I am starting those in a week. Time is just flying!

Sam--- I was thinking about you a lot yesterday too. How funny, I have never even met you, but you were really on my mind a lot. Hope everything is well, I cannot wait to hear your story!

Wishing you all a nice couple of days with a lot of sleep no stress! :D

Follistem

Post by samandaw1 »

My experience with Follistem was not so bad. Small needle and quick. For some reason the sound is what I did not like.

Egg transfer was a piece of cake. Did not hurt at all and lasted a total of 15 minutes. I would only describe it as slightly uncomfortable.

The painful part was the drinking of the water. I thought I was going to "die" on how bad I had to go to the bathroom. I actually started to cry and felt like my organs were shutting down. My husand said I looked like a mental patient :)

I am telling you this because of what I found out later. I told the nurse that I thought I could not make it any longer due to the pain and she did a one minute ultrasound and let me "relieve" 3 glass full. I know this might be too much information but wanted to tell you this just in case you experience the same thing. I did not know I could do that. YOu have to get the okay by the nurse but there could be a possiblity your bladder is too full.

Once I was allowed to do that I was so happy that I was 100% at ease with the transfer.

Good luck on your meds (injections). You will be just fine. Time is flying isn't it.

Love,

Sam

Shapooh--I'm still waiting for AF. It should be here before the weekend's end. I'm thinking it should be here by Saturday. What injections are you taking? It's good to know that it wasn't that bad.

Sam--I'm glad to hear that you survived the ER. How much water did you have to drink? How soon did you drink b4 you went in to have it done? You relieved yourself after the whole thing was over? When's the ET?

Hopeful-I understand how you felt when you openeed your box. Sorting through it helped me a lot!

Lola-Our cycles will be pretty much at the same time. I'm getting a little nervous. How about you?

Wannababy-

I drank 32 ounces in about ten minutes an hour before my egg transfer (not retrieval) I did that at the trial transfer and was fine. I guess sometimes water hits you different (maybe I was retaining or my milk in my cereal counted as liquid) Who knows but glad it is over :?

I feel like I respond very fast----I am on bed rest with nothing to do but play around with my lap top and watch tv.

Good luck girls

Wow, I did not know the drinking part will be kinda tough... good to know Sam, thank you! Now just relax and enjoy! Hope you have a lot of good movies to watch!

Wannababy, yes, I am getting nervous too... I am going for my bloodtest and my ultrasound on Tuesday morning. I hope everything will be fine. I went shopping with a friend today over lunch and did not even feel like buying anything, I don't want to buy something that may not fit me in a couple of weeks... :?

Also, question, I was not asked to do a trial transfer, did you guys all do it? i just had an ultrasound...

Sam - I'm glad everything went smoothly. If you don't mind me asking, how many did you transfer? Oh yeah, I also was wondering what kind of meds do you have to take now if any? Good luck on your bed rest. Your in my thoughts and prayers!

Mia - The needles scared me too, but its really not that bad. I'm just a little sore the next day where I got the shot.

Lola - I'm taking the Follistem and I think that is the easiest so far. Good luck and no worries!

Wannababy - I'm taking Follistem in the morning and Menapur at night for four days. Then I go back Saturday for u/s to see how many follies! I hope a bunch. Can't wait for you to get started.

Lola - My RE did the mock transfer when I did my bloodtest and u/s. I don't know if all doctors do it, but when I had mine done, he found there was a slope to my uterus in one section and had to go around it. He said it was better to know the area so he doesn't have any surprises at the real thing. You should ask your RE about it!

Shapooh--My bad! I thought it was the retrieval. I think I'm reading too many posts and confusing everyone's information! When are you testing?

Transfered 2

Post by samandaw1 »

Alicia,

I transfered two. IT was the only ones I had that looked good ( I originally started with 16). I went to day five and out of the 7 remaining, two divided and looked like "[erfect" blastosites (sp?) I am bummed about not having anything to freeze but now shifting and praying I get pregnant so that is not a factor we have to face.

I am now taking progesterone (daily) and another shot (about once every three days for about 1 1/2 weeks so totaling 5 times). I have had to take oral medication but now I am done with that. The shots ease up for sure. The progesterone shot is a tough one and may have to be taken daily for the full first trimester of pregnancy. I have learned some tricks from others on this website to make it better.

Hope your experences are begining on a postive note with the injections.

Good luck,

Sam

Well ladies, AF showed up today! That means I go in for bloodwork and ultrasound Sunday am. If all is well, I start injections that evening. I am full of mixed emotions. I can't believe that this is it! How's everyone doing today?

Is there a limit on how many embryos can be frozen?

Goodluck wannababy! One more week for me. I'm starting to get pretty excited :) I don't think my RE has a limit on how many embryos they'll freeze, but I think they will only freeze good quality embryos.

Congrats Jennifer!!

Wow, one day goes by and we have so many messages. That really great! Wannababy, I wish you a lot of good eggs, just take a good care of yourself now.... I have one more week to go as well, just like Mia.
Who is Jennifer?
I have to read some more, looks like I've missed something...

Alicia --- thanks for your advice, I have to ask my doctor. He said that everything looked OK anyway, but it would be nice to make sure...

Sam --- are you bored yet? How are you feeling?

You all have a great weekend and try to relax as much as you can! (I know, we have heard that before like thousand times.... )

Jennifer actually posts in another thread. I think it's 'August testing'. I saw Sam congrat her, so I looked it up :D . I don't know if she reads this thread. But there it is, just in case :)
