Is it normal not to ovulate the first month after IVF??
I had my BFN on July 10th. AF showed up July 16th, I start it testing July 21st my monitor showed low for the first 8 days and than moved up to high for the next 6 days which was yesterday. I stopped testing as I had been testing for the total of 14 days. I have always been so regular with AF and ovulate around day 12-13 each month. I just gave up for this month.
DH says that my body probably wont get back to normal for couple of months. Is this true? I am so nerveous b/c I turn 42 next month. RE checked last month and no sign of menopause. My FSH last month was 6.5 and he says that good. Please help!
By the way Ghost if you are reading this last time I was pregnant was 6 months ago and I m/c.
I'm not an MD, just a scientist, and I've never studied post-IVF ovulation.
I can confirm that an FSH of 6.5 is good, and exceptionally good for your age. Probably much more important than what the calendar says. Don't sweat the birthday, your ovaries don't know about it.
Failures are common at 41 and 42, that's just the fact. But you should be better off than most given your low FSH. Keep in mind that donor IVF works very well at that age, and even later.
Thank you so much. You are always so helpfu. I really appreciat it. The funny thing about my age is I really don't feel old and I still have to show my ID when I go out. The only time I feel old is when I am thinking baby stuff. Makes me happy to hear from you about my FSH. I would like to try for the balance of this year on my own and maybe more IVF. Than consider my other options. I hope this is not a crazy thought.
