don't believe HPT

Post by jules in wilts »

I took a HPT 12 days after ET and it was neg, went to the hospital today for the HCG blood test and when I got home did another HPT (-ve again) but the blood test came back with 397 hcg which apparently is a very high +ve, usually they are between 50-100, so quite a stron possiblity of twins (ekk) I was so sure it was going to be -ve, I have been drinking the odd glass of wine, I have sex the day following the ET, I went back to work the monday after the friday ET and yet it is still +ve.. just goes to show it is all down to luck..

amazing congrats - sounds like you had a very healthy attitude towards the whole thing. I think we all get a bit hung up about what to do and what not to do. Just went to see a doc today who told me that there NO evidence that ANYTHING makes ANY difference...except smoking = bad and folic = good.

Congrats!!

Cazx

CONGRATULATIONS Jules! I'm so happy to hear about your ++ive. You're a great reminder not to let down hope with those HPTs. I'll keep my fingers crossed for twins for you. I'm hoping for the same, though the idea completely terrifies my dh. Though my RE had me on a strict regimine of "don'ts," I think one of the biggest factors is taking it easy and keeping down the stress (which is likely just what you did by living life normally).

Congrats again, and let us know when you have your first scan!
Catherine
