Hi Everyone - thanks for your good wishes and support.

Today was a day of mixed emotion. The HPT this morning was positive - fantastic. Then after telling the clinic about the result and my ongoing bleeding my dr called, and said that he is attributing my bleeding to a miscarriage, or threatened miscarriage.

So, I have had a HCG test done, and have another on Thursday, increased progesterone and bed rest until we know what's happpening.

So we're trying to stay positive, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't terrified.

Keeping our fingers crossed, maybe this bleeding just means that one embie didn't make it and the other is a fighter? I know that's clutching at straws, but I'm clinging to hope wherever I can find it my friends.

Thanks for all of your good wishes, I'll keep you updated when I have news.

well ladies - I don't really know what to tell you. I just heard back from my doctor's office and they said my result was inconclusive and that I would need to test again on Thursday. In my million other tries I have always had 0 hcg when tested... today I have 2.2 - which doesnt seem so positive, but then the embryologist was assuring me that my embryos are not so quick and to give them a chance. It is VERY hard to stay ambivalent. I am going to try and stay relatively calm and positive until I get a firm number on Thursday. I am going to go and rest for a bit and hopefully someone will write back with some MIRACLE story about how low their hcg was that turned out to be a pregnancy. You can make it up to make me feel better if you need too. I will latch on to anything positive right now!

Thanks for all the support! Keep your feet up Suzanne and rest!

Hi Amy,

Well i'm afraid i don't have a miracle story to tell, but unless i got it wrong i didn't think you were mean't to test till tomorrow, in which case, by then the beta should be over 5 which is considered a positive.

I'm praying that your numbers rise and everything comes together for you and DH.

Hold in there hun, keep your feet up and try not to worry too much, i know it's hard, but Thursday will be here before you know it and they will be telling you, you have strong BFP!!!

I have written this before but not sure what thread. My doctor does not give results on the first test for that very reason. I am assuming they got to many false results or inconclusive results that they changed the policy. So I know you are not the only one that that has happened to that has turned out positive.

They want to make sure the numbers double, that is truely the only way to know if you are pregant from IVF. Unless of couse your numbers are sky high but that is not the case with most women.

You will know it all on the next one but as far as what I understand, it was not a zero

Hang in there

Hi, was just wondering if I could add myself to your august forum. I go for Egg Retrieval tomorrow. Very nervous because I am 34 and they told my with my first one that my eggs look really bad and I only got 2 eggs out of 10-12 which they saw on ultrasound. I am at a new facility now and the Dr just thinks I had a bad stimulation, and we are trying something different this time with more meds. I should be testing August 20 and 22. Congrats to all the BFP's so far!!!

Hi All,

Had an U/S today and they said everything looks great. We have about 8 follicles and six look good. My retrieval is now on Friday and I am sooo nervous. This is a one shot for us as we are paying completely out of pocket since our insurance covers nothing. I was hoping for a few frozen, but that seems like it is not going to happen.

Enough about me...

Amy,
Take inconclusive for what it is...it is not a negative!! I know it is hard to stay positive, but there is no other choice.

Suzannes,
Rest, Rest, Rest! Think good thoughts and may time pass ever so quickly for you!!

As for the rest of us, please bless us with patience and lots of babies.
