Today the waiting game begins. I had my egg retrieval this morning and they got 23 eggs from 30 follicles. The embryologist is expecting 75% to be mature and then 50% (8 eggs) to fertilize. It's completely out of my hands now, but I'm feeling really anxious about getting the daily updates from the embryologist. What if none fertilize!
For those of you who have yet to go through egg retrieval, don't worry. The ER was so much easier than I expected. After the IV was in, the rest was a breeze. I was in and out of the clinic in less than 1.5 hours, with no discomfort. I felt more discomfort (bloated and tenderness) leading up to the ER from all of the stim meds.
Do I have any cycle buddies out there? This is going to be a long few weeks. I need to hear some positive stories!

I had my egg retrival on tuesday they got 31 embroys. 26 were mature enough to fertilize. this morning we got the call that 23 were fertilized using ICIS. I am going to have a day three transfer on friday because we want to freeze the rest of the embroys. I am very excited and nervous at the same time. This is our second try. The first time due to OHSS we had to cancel the cycle the day before my retrieval date. I guess we will all be experiencing that deaded two week wait together. My big dilema now is that saturday morning I am scheduled to take a test for me job to get a promotion. If I don't take the test I have to wait till the end of November for the next test. The test is a written exam and is four hours long. I asked my doctor about it and he tends to think it will be ok. Any advice on what to do? I don't want to do anything to ruin my chances of geting a BFP.
Well girls, I am right there with you. I had my ER this morning too and all went well. They retrieved 12 eggs from 12 follies. We too have male factor so ICSI will be used. Surprisingly, the sperm sample was good and there were no dead ones. What a pleasant surprise!
Looks like we'll be waiting together...we'll become fast friends. Be sure to check in when those DR calls start coming. This whole process is so much easier with people who are where you are.
Take care and blessings to each of you!
