So Hello Dear Ladies
So i am back at home and can post from my laptop as we have wireless at home - very cool!!! I have slept most of the day so far - they told me that would be the case for a few days as still on lots of painkillers. When he told me how much infected tissue he had to remove then it became clear that i would be in pain for a while.
Em-I am very sorry that your folly has not really progressed at all. It must be so frustrating for you. Recall that you were less keen on another iui than your dh. May be it was just not meant to be.........Do you have any idea when you first ivf attempt would be or is it too soon to be thinking about that??? It just helps me relax when I know what the fall back plan is
Interesting that you say about me trying iui. Not sure why our consultant has not mentioned at all. We will see him next Tuesday so I shall ask him then
Jackie - the fishing and wine up in Canada sound like fun for you. You deserve a few glasses of wine. It is impossible to be good all the time!! I had a cup of 'real' tea in hospital after my op as a treat. I also had a chocolate bar yesterday to try to cheer myself up!!!!
Sorry about the ivf weight gain. i found that i added at least 10lbs with the drugs. i found that drinking all the water to flush the drugs out certainly helped. My tummy is huge again now post op. He says that it is because he had to cut through the tummy wall so it has damaged the muscles - what muscles

. I was so pleased that i had lost the weight and now I just look really bloated all over again. Why is this so dam hard for all of us???? Let us know how acu goes - my cutie told me that i had to recover for a few weeks before I could go again
Anna - thanks for popping in to give me some support, it was so kind of you - it was fab to read your news
Veronika - do you know your dates and when you will be trying naturally? - it must be pretty soon now. Let is know when you're PhD is completed so that we can all congratulate you on that amazing achievement
Laura - any sign of AF for you yet? Getting close for your cycle now - I guess that you & Jackie will be cycle buddies again
Dania - you must look after yourself. You need to listen to your body especially if it is asking for rest. How amazing that you are now almost through the first trimester. i cannot believe how quickly it has passed by....
So I have been trying to work out my dates. Since 1st ivf have been on a longer 35 day cycle. That means I would expect AF next Friday (18th August) if it has not been messed up by the op. My first ovulation would be around the first few days of September. I am glad that I have some time to recover as could not even contemplate sex right now given how sore and fragile I feel!!!!! Then I guess that i will face a 2ww to see if AF shows up around 21st September???? he has told me that I must take hpt every month and if I get a +ve that I must let him know so they can do an early scan because of risk of eptopic...............
I will go to see my consultant next Tuesday. Not sure that he'll tell me anymore. Em - i will ask him about iui and see what he has to say. The stiches will all be taken out then. After that I may well go down to Devon to see my parents and have them look after me for a week or so. Nurses were very nice at the hospital and dh came to see me each evening and to collect me today but it is so boring just lying around all day

Not meant to drive for 4-6 weeks..........
anyway it is nice to be at home and in our own lovely bed.
Thanks for all the support.
love Carolyn xxxx
